  • mrs. robinson

  • What ever Joe D. was like as a person, he still was an amazing ball player.

DiMaggio has one of the most amazing stats a power hitter, or for that matter any hitter could ever have. He had more home runs than strike outs in 7 of his 13 seasons. That is an awesome stat for a power hitter and one that no one has ever come close to. The next best for a power hitter is Ted Williams who did it 3 times in 19 seasons.

  • @keagleman21 Without checking the stats I'd say Jonny Mize, Yogi Berra and Barry Bonds also had comparable HR/K ratios.

  • If true NY fans are going to have any real icon to look up to, it should be the one and only Joe DiMaggio

  • @jkreign Joe D was an asshole. If you want to look up to him you're a moron.

  • After the streak this all time cheapo was the nation's guest for fifty plus years. Reputation was never put his hand into his own pocket, never did anything gratis, and acted like a baby to force recognition as greatest living player. Respect his skills as worthy of accolades but wouldn't want to be within a mile of him as a person.

  • @spagandtuna Agreed.

  • @Hoontasan

    hi skippy....lol

  • Along with Tony Lazzeri, Tom Seaver and Barry "Numbnuts" Bonds, the four greatest baseball players the bay area has ever produced.

  • joe d is the best baseball player to ever live

  • great pics

  • Joe D was the greatest ever

  • oh sorry, I forgot Dolph Camilli, Jackie Jensen, Ken Caminetti, Keith Hernandez and Lefty Gomez. They were great, too.
