@bestantonio I take it that you're talking about this particular train, which indeed is going way faster than usual. Normal TGV runs are between 270-300 km/h.
Of course, since this has a great potential for disaster, maintenance and safety protocols are almost as strict as the ones from airplanes, and in fact, every single fatal TGV accident was on the sections where thre trains run on normal rail with street crossings instead of grade-separated high speed lines.
The TGV is the fastest conventional train in the world, using powered metal wheels riding on metal rails. -- The JR-Maglev is the fastest non-conventional train in the world on a magnetic-levitation track.
That is one hell of a train! The UK is so far behind now it is embarrasing. And to think a lot of the technology of high speed rail was invented here, then abandoned through lack of investment...
When you are in a train and see the rails wet, that means that it's raining and that the train derailed (normally you can't see the rails from inside).
This is not true buddy. The export model of ICE 3 is the VELARO built by Siemens. 4 of 5 public tenders of the new under floor generation were won by Velaro i.e. as Velaro - RUS (Russia), E (Spain) CN (China). ICE/ Velaro/ Siemens has an advantage of 10 years in under floor technology. This new technology is just introduced and tested for the TGV successor, the AGV. AGV is only sold to italy by now. The fastest unmodified! train in the world is the Velaro E. Google it! :) TGV is amazing anyway!
transrapid and maglev are not as safe as classic train and very expensive to built! not reliable with the other line and can t start from the center of the big town like the TGV,shinkansen etc start from old station..
But please don't compare maglevs to old trains with wheels. I wouldn't like to go with a traditional train at speeds around 500km/h, with maglev I've absolutely no reservations. They can't derail, they don't need 35 km/h to accelerate (Transrapid: 5 km) nor 12 km to break.
Maglevs are another chapter of technology, far away from each Velaro, TGV etc...
The end of the Munich project is not so bad, because it was a "innercity" Transrapid. Berlin-Hamburg would have been made more sense
lol this is not the Eurostar(tgv) but the shuttle(classic train with car and coach) who had burn because of a coach!!! some derailment for the TGV due to flooding with no death (articulate train) not the case of the ICE..lol
I heard that they may introduce similar, but longer trains, just as fast as this, on the Transsibirian railway. Moscow-Vladivostok would then take 18 hours, Moscow-Beijing 15 hours, and Moscow-Beijing via Zabajkalsk 17 hours.
now that is somit to get excited about. unfortunately we got guys getting more excited (verging on orgasm) when a horse is on the umpteenth lap on some race
they could do more than 574.8.. like 590 etc.. but they prefer to be sure to have no problem with the electricity catchment!
In fact, there is a wave on the electric cable(because of the speed) and at 620kmph it can be broken..that why they prefer to keep some safety precaution..
Doesn't this Train in Shanghai (Transrapid) aleady run at such speeds? Really who cares?
Actually, the Americans built the Hummer, a really neat car ... why do I engage in thes pointless discussions in the first place... I know I shouldnt. Kudos to the french who have built this train! Acutally this is all this video is about.
Maglev easily could reach 375 mph, if desired. Neither France owns maglev-technologie, nor they are leaders in "old" conventional train-technology. The fastest and most advanced serial train is the ICE-Velaro (404 km/h), the fastest serial-TGV reaches 350km/h. This TGV was a only a test-train boosted up for 10 Min. with extra-high-voltage and special tracks. It was wearn-out after 10 Minutes and the one-way-ticket for the test costed about 43 Mio Dollar, a little bit to expensiv for daily use.
TGV is the fastest and safest train on rails in the world, stop being jalous and know that is not the TGV TECH but the futur AGV TECH of 2008 that you are seeing who will travel all the time at 360KM/h. That's why he is modified.
So learn more about it before post stupidities like i see on many comment.
And it's not the siemens tech train that crashed and kill many peoples? Never, in 26 years of explotation the tgv kill peoples.
Enschede was a old type of ICE-1, which derailed due to a steel tyre which is not in use anymore. TGV also derailed severeal times, normaly no problem, but in Enschede a long, very unlucky unfortunate series of events leaded to the accident (long time ago).
China is very interested to buy the whole transrapid technology. They are "hot" to do it. The elongation of the existing track is a done deal, just formalities has to be clarified.
Well.TGV set up the world record in 1991.Top speed of 515.3km.After 16 years , They improved only 60km ph.And with that speed, You can even stand up to go to bathroom for piss, because wobbling too much.
Great show thugh,it wiil contribute for sales worldwide. I guess.
WTF has this video to do with people dying in Iraq? OMFG u seriously need to gain some knowledge dumbass, we're talking about a TGV here not Iraq. WTF would we listen to the French, they're not even fighting in iraq dipshit.
There is a project to run Maglev trains in a partially evacuated tunnel called SwissMetro as could be seen on YouTube "/watch?v=dlmm2SOP0Ho". The train in evacuated tunnel can go as fast as Concorde with no risk like TGV+581km/h. With no pollution, energy efficient, faster than sound and weather independent it stands as real transportation solution of the future.
Jealousy? More like anger at the actions of the French, who seem to think that blocking ports and roads and stopping trade is a valid form of protest.
Besides, why would I be jealous? We both had Concorde.
No actually it was made by England and France but the English and French engineering payed its price, the Concorde was just a piece of shit, no wonder its not in service anymore, it crashed dozens of times, thank god it isn't in service anymore.
So once is enough u bloody asshole. British engineering is absolutely shitty, everything they make falls apart, same with their cars. In order to make their weak cars to work, they had to sell them to the germans and americans and once they were in their hands everything went right. Britain has a lot to learn because it is heaps behind modern technology
So let's talk about the Australia cause that's your country. What exactly did the Aussies invented? nothing. Accomplishments? The genocide of their indigenous people and kangaroo steack (what does it tastes like, by the way? tastes like chicken?)
Just because I live in Australia doesn't mean i'm an aussie dipshit, I actually come from Germany myself, so i don't give a damn if they invented shit or not, what i do want is that u will shut ur ugly, bloody mouth.
Hows about the Black Box? The Bionic Ear? They are Aussie Inventions that have helped the world. We have advancements in science and technology, along with many other inventions to help industry and home. Do a google on 'Australian Inventions' and there are many pages. Genocide of Aboriginies, you have alot of research to do there mate. Back off and shut your mouth, think before you talk and research what you say.
Concorde had one accident in 30 years of service. ONE.
Why does a video about a train breaking a speed record descend into outright racism & xenophobia? Who gives a fuck about where it's from. Be proud humnakind has mastered things like this.
And who ever invited you into this conversation? We were talking about comparing things and know you have to stick your filthy nose into it dont u dumbass?
Concorde crashed once. The Russian Tupolev-144 which was an almost exact copy of the Concorde, however flew before the Concorde crashed a few times and was eventually removed from service. The Concorde was one of the safest and reliable aircraft in the world, it was just too costly to keep running due to many factors regarding age and September 11.
The concept of railways was invented in the UK 18/19C exporting it around the world. We even provided the workforce. The Railway Navvies to teach the the world how build the railways in France.

The German trains are dangerous. See the disaster of the ICE in Eschede, 101 dead, 88 wounded. Shanghai Maglev, 23 dead 10 injured.
The Maglev is an expensive failure and don't have a real future.
The German just give up the sole commercial project in Europe (Munich).
Siemens stopped the development of this "train". Too expensive, too complex.
The Shanghai line is likely to be the only one ever built.

Wow! Imagine how fast it would go with French truck drivers blocking the track!

There are no level crossings. So please explain how they might do that! Jealousy is so sad.
kenjryker 4 years ago
Jealousy? More like anger at the actions of the French, who seem to think that blocking ports and roads and stopping trade is a valid form of protest.
Besides, why would I be jealous? We both had Concorde.
PeowPeowPeowLasers 4 years ago
Amazingly Concorde was made by France.
rahulbasak 4 years ago
No actually it was made by England and France but the English and French engineering payed its price, the Concorde was just a piece of shit, no wonder its not in service anymore, it crashed dozens of times, thank god it isn't in service anymore.

Dozens of times? What an ignorant fat ass... It crashed ONCE, big jello
luclafor 4 years ago
So once is enough u bloody asshole. British engineering is absolutely shitty, everything they make falls apart, same with their cars. In order to make their weak cars to work, they had to sell them to the germans and americans and once they were in their hands everything went right. Britain has a lot to learn because it is heaps behind modern technology
razorblade1995 4 years ago
So let's talk about the Australia cause that's your country. What exactly did the Aussies invented? nothing. Accomplishments? The genocide of their indigenous people and kangaroo steack (what does it tastes like, by the way? tastes like chicken?)
luclafor 4 years ago
Just because I live in Australia doesn't mean i'm an aussie dipshit, I actually come from Germany myself, so i don't give a damn if they invented shit or not, what i do want is that u will shut ur ugly, bloody mouth.
razorblade1995 4 years ago

We were talking about comparing things and know you have to stick your filthy nose into it dont u dumbass?
razorblade1995 3 years ago
Now that's not very polite is it?

and what about Boeing 747 crashes. i can't remember all the dramatic crashes! Sorry but Concorde was a good plane!
krashno 4 years ago
Concorde crashed once. The Russian Tupolev-144 which was an almost exact copy of the Concorde, however flew before the Concorde crashed a few times and was eventually removed from service. The Concorde was one of the safest and reliable aircraft in the world, it was just too costly to keep running due to many factors regarding age and September 11.
