The place is famous for their burgers. Although they do not add special ingredients, it is obvious to me that they use a well seasoned cook top to make the burgers. You don't need special ingredients to make a good burger when you have a great grill.

We stopped in the Moonshine Store last summer on a motorcycle trip and it was a wonderful little place. The atmosphere was wonderful and the people were SO nice. I was amazed at how quickly things moved along and really surprised when I saw just how many people came from long distances to eat there. The lunch line stretched all the way outside and the friendly atmosphere made the wait really enjoyable. The entire group that rode up there that day really enjoyed it. Wonderful place to go!!

You are probably right, you would think the folks at the Moonshine store were "rednecks." Most are simple local farmers, families, and the elderly. Take for example the lady who ordered the 15 cheeseburgers. What you don't know is she is a local teacher for special education and a GED instructor. She takes the children on field trip to local simple places like Moonshine and to them it is Christmas morning. Sure, it my not be the best burger in the world, but the value it holds is worth more.

This is my aunt Helen and Uncle RoyLee's store. I just received an email from my mother. They had the motorcycle run come through this past Saturday (4/18/09) and they broke their record! They sold 1,119 hamburgers that day before NOON! All I can say is "WOW"!!!!

theres nothing wrong with finding something extraordinary somewhere totally unextraordiary. As for the burger, dont knock it until you have tried it. Compared to the average fast food burger they are really good. Im not going to say best in the world but certainly if you had the choice of a moonburger in front of you or a mcdonalds cheeseburger. Choose the moonburger.
