you know when I first heard they were making an LOTR musical i thought it would be stupid. Now that I listen to it, I am so completely wrong and glad for it! This is awesome!!
I actually like this Rouse's Legolas better than Bloom's, I mean yeah he was fantastic, but this Legolas sings. ans in the book, that was his most endearing quality. And key to his character developement.
Michael Rouse's voice gives me goosebumps! He's just amazing, stunning singing in both Lothlorien songs! He should have sung much more than just 1 song!!!
@JoeyMacMan1 No, it isn't a bootleg audio! It is from the London LOTR website. It was the first preview of the music from the show. All I did was download the video (THIS!) and post it. They obviously made changes from this version to the original cast recording version. Dumb ass!
I'm sorry, I could be wrong about this, but I think at the last part, Laura sings Garden of light, not garden of wonder. If you listen to it, there's only one syllable.
Whoa! It sounds so different. The instruments and tone.... It's so weird. This was the first one I heard, but then I started listening exclusively to the album version and now this sounds so different!
I wish I had this one. Does anyone know where I can find it?
Did you get this directly off the CD? Does the CD, by any chance, have stereo versions of this song? And if so, could you give it to me? ^^ Cause that would be really awesome. You could make a karaoke out of that. Please? ^^
Holy... Her second and third verses gave me shivers! She has the most beautiful voice, and this song inspires me so much! It's so beautiful! Wow! Just wow!
have fallen in love with this version. bought the cd on amazon, but it's just not the same. Any way of getting a copy of this one? it would be wonderful! And thank you so much for putting it on Youtube, at least I can come here and listen to it!
This was the version that you could originally download from the fan website for free before the cd officially came out- i know it's not still on there and I'm not sure if you can buy it anywhere but if someone finds a way let us know cause I love this version too!
if you where an acctual elf you would be subject to the gods of the northmen
oh and thats not Tolkien sorry that original mythology
P.S. im not ragging tolkien i love his books, im an aussie and im outback aussie at that so dont be offended, your all a bit soppy the books may have beauty and chivalry within the pages but its based on the boar war, violence and death over comeingadversity, and they are master peices of literature, but youve missed the point, re read the books. please.
Beautiful!!! I just came back from seeing a performance of Les Miserables and....dare I say it.....yes I do......THIS KICKS LES MIS BUTT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!
Saul Zaentz Company/Tolkien Enterprises owns the rights and can license productions of LOTR. Peter Jackson/New Line Cinema have no say in what is released only their films nothing to do with the stage version.
@broadwaydude2378 Personally, I think both the musical and the movies did an excellent job in portraying Tolkien's vision within their respective mediums. Jackson's retelling was just as much Tolkien's story as Warchus and McKenna's was.
went to see yesterdayyyys matinee - absoloutley amazing show..out of this world!! The songs <3 .. the sceneryyy WOW and special effects Jaw dropping. absoloutley loved it.. sad its closing =(
I love this song so much! It just kinda makes me want to sing or dance along. lol. I want to buy the soundtrack so much! Thank you for posting this. ^_^
The films were more Peter Jackson than Tolken for me. They stand on their own but I hope they release the musical on DVD. I could not afford to go to London to see it. I love this song.
going to see this show in june! does anyone know why thursday matinness are really cheap? im worried it will be empty and wont have the atmostphere of a london show... anyone help? god i love this song
the thursday matinness r sooooo cheap coz they have a questionaire fing where u ask members of da cast questions and they do this because they cut a few scenes from the show. i went to see it in november on the matinee
I went to a thursday matinee. It's filled with really old people and really young children! And the Hobbits dance and stuff at the beginning so you have to get there early. We got there literally 2 mins before it started!
my best friend hates the films but i saw the show and made her come and watch it and she walked out saying she was shocked and amazed by the incredible show! the sets, the music, the choreography, everything!
There isn't a lot of music in it. But there it does have amazing sets, lighting, and all theat flashy stuff. It's definitely a spectacular show. This song is amazing live. If I were you I'd go to a half-price tickets booth and get cheap tickets.
Front row day seats £20 on the day at the box office, although they are in the front row so you miss whats happening at the back on the stage sometimes, but great value
definately. i'm a fan of theatre and i've got t day this is the best i've seen. then again i dont not like aything i see. i've seen it tree times and ive booked tickets to see it twice more. its that good :D
Well, I can't say one but I meant that this musical doesn't have a song for each scene and character, like the phantom of the opera or rent, for instance. so i deduced the characters have more spoken words than songs. That's what i meant with my question.
LMK almost sounds like she has a cold when she starts singing on the CD version. The chorus also sounds bored when they sing 'haven of sunlight etc'. And, though I love the end of the CD version, this one is much better.
I agree, the two versions are quite different all round; i do prefer this one to the cd - this one feels more dramatic and gives me more chills. They certainly enunciate better on the cd version, and i do like Laura's new handling on 'Son of my yearning' but i don't like how they cut that short bar right at the start so that now Michael starts singing the immediate second you press play on it - that annoys me so much that there isn't even a silent lead-in. Thanks for saving this 1 from oblivion!
I LOVE it!Lv it,lv,it,LOVE IT!!!! I'm gonna see the show in May for the 3rd time - I cry with sheer joy when I hear the music sent down from heaven itself & the show itself is breathtaking - its impossible to describe!
i wanna go back and watch it again it was soooooo amazing i cant emphasise how awesome it was and dont watch it on youtube go and see it its amazing and songs like this are 10 times better and plus you dont get the feel the wind when the balrog comes or see the smoke come around you or anything else like that it is a must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've heard from a prrfesional theater critic that lord of the rings is stunning VISUALLY, but the music is dissapointing in places (not this one i must admit) but it lacks in Umph! Visually very good. you can see every penny was put into it.
I agree--it's stronger. In the cast recording they all seem to be holding back, 'belting' wise, but I still love it... Did you hear all of 'Wonder'? It was BEAUTIFUL!
I have to say LMK's handling of the major key was amazing--I had heard part of the song on Youtube with the Show Montage clip, but I never thought the song could get BETTER. I can't stop listening to it now. Too bad the CD Lothlorien isn't quite as lovely as this one. Regardless, I have both on my iPod now :P
Indian? lol It is quite different but it's still good.. I just wish they would've let the female voices sing louder than Legolas on the elvish parts.. but it's still great!
i went to see this on stage in June for my brithday, and it was SOOOO surreal! this song was amazing, and the performance was beautiful! i've only just found out about the CD, and i can't wait to buy it! i wish i could go and see it again! lol
ive been looking for the cd for ages do you know where i can get it? i so agree about the show i went to see it in london last year it sends shivers down my spine!
Wow, this is a fantastic song... really fantastic. "Nimrodel" seems rather... anglicized when they pronounce it though, and as wonderful as Laura Michelle Kelly is, she sounds a bit too young to be playing Galadriel, but that's just me being REALLY picky! I love this song... I am now excited for January, I want this CD.
Golden dream Oh green glory Sweet springs of the Nimrodel Grief passes Oh golden dream Oh golden dream Golden dream Oh green glory Heart of the dawn. Lothlórien Got this from a fansite.. This is the Elvish bridge translated before Galadriel sings..could be wrong don't take it as the gospel.
omg i saw this lastnite its SOOOOOOOOOO good! laura michelle kelly made me cry coz her voice is so powerhouse yet so pure!! if u luv fantastic music then its a must see!!!
Jan 21, 2008 The Cast Recording of LOTR will be released. I hoping they allow pre-ordering because who knows if it will ever come out in the US. Pass it along.

The fact that there's a LOTR musical is already weird.
The fact that, going by this, it apparently rocks is totally fucking insane.

@janusandjachy Tolkien used a ton of music in the books. A musical is probably more accurate to the books than anything Peter Jackson did.
