There is substantial evidence to indicate that a lot of these "jumpers" were not what they appear to be. What were they? many possibilities: planted bodies or gelatin filled manequins, whatever you can imagine. Can't wrap your mind around that..you don't think evil enoughg. Skydivers don't wear masks unless they are jumping from over about 15,000 feet. They wear them only because there isn't enough oxygen at high altitude to be sure they don't pass out on the way down. These people chose to take this way out, and never even had the opportunity to know the reasons behind what happened. It would be certain death, but at least they took control of their destiny when left with no other options. I'd likely do the same.
