Themes in the lyrics don't always have to match with themes in it's video. When I read the lyrics it was an expression of the insecurities within as a person. There is a part where they are telling someone about their "crooked ugly heart" & "I'm not right for you". It's an issue with an ugly persona. But the vid's theme seems to express, "Look I can't conform to your standards of beauty so screw your standards & I'll do me even it it means I'm considered 'ugly' to you." Either way I like both.
