This song is also known as Uncle Joe. One of the lines is, "Will your horse carry double, Uncle Joe, Uncle Joe". The song is known by both titles here in the Ozarks.
Amazing footage, this is a piece of history, any idea where it was? Looks like the 1930's somewhere in the US. Thanks for putting this clip on YouTube madocseren.
This was fun to see. Those were, in a way, the good old days because folks really appreciated simple pleasures like this. People today demand more complicated and sophisticated entertainment - mostly as a result of agressive marketing.
Even the baby in the carriage is joining in the fun.People can still entertain each other with live acoustic music-and it often beats the pants off the commercial crap on TV and Radio!
Nostalgia is great. If you'd like a happy time like this, just find a modern day old timey string band. It's still quite possible to have this much fun.
That baby cracked me up

Pretty cool. Americans were together back then. That's why the country was strong!

Life was enjoyed because it often was so bad. Being hungry, cold and tired was normal. Sitting in the sun and enjoying music was a great event.
What I think is more noticable is how much less we interact with people on the street. Maybe thats just me.
