  • Look's Nice ;)

  • i want that lining my ceiling/wall corners, all the way around.

I am pretty tech savvy, what must i do?

mind walking me through with a video? and maybe some sound?

  • i want these project can you help me

  • Outstanding work Timothy! After I picked my jaw up off the floor I showed it to my wife and now she wants one for the living room! Do you have a BOM and or are you offering the code? Fantastic!

  • amazing fella!

  • oh wow this is sooo fantastic

  • wow the amazing

  • Nice!

Does the computer always have to be connected?

Is this a programmed lightshow or does it change with the song?

  • Thanks so much! I didn't do DMX because it was more than I needed, but you were the inspiration for my color changing bar! You can check it out in my videos. I'd have never thought to look for corrogated plastic had you not mentioned it in your other video.

  • OMG! this is awesome!

  • miticooooooooooooo sei un grande brilldea miticooooooooooooo

  • You need to put a tutorial on how to do this for people, it is such eye candy

  • Awesome!

  • This is awesome Timothy! Do you have to program the light show, or is it "sensed" through analyzing the music itself? Either way, awesome piece!

  • oh my gosh.

i am just excited to know someone who can do this. it would be a great service to apply your wonderful talents in the youth room at the new place haha cindy latour..

great meeting your wife yesterday at church. Hope we can hook up before the summer

  • Wow - so awesome. I was dreaming of that kind of display in the early '70's. Would love to see a vid of the original "Tubular Bells" on that baby!!

  • wow! that's pretty amazing!! how many times a day do you and lauren watch that?? i can't wait to see you soon!!

    ~lindsey

  • Oh I watch once or twice a day. If Lauren and I are both around we usually just have the wall slowly cycling through colors. See you soon!

  • Tim the Toyman! Whoa! Excellent! When is IKEA going to start marketing it? I'm coming over to see it and believe it.

  • Nice one! I do lighting for concerts and the local amateur theatre group, DMX board and Dimmer pack. I've often pondered what I can do with DMX and a propeller. This is fantastic!

  • Thanks man. The Propeller is well suited for receiving and processing DMX. You can setup one of the cogs to gather all the DMX data and the other seven cogs for doing something useful. Watch the Parallax forum, I will be placing my updated DMX object there soon.

  • That is actually nice. I was worried that Lauren would be rolling her eyes into the back of her head over DMX controlled bookcases but now I kinda like it -- which says a lot for an old guy like me who isn't impressed much by this sort of stuff.

So, how did you do the control? The Vixen software makes the patterns from the music and you map the outputs somehow? Or you download somebody's script? Or you have to script the whole thing yourself?

  • Thank you! Vixen software has a timeline and channels. I programmed the levels and the sequences and designed the light show. I then plugged in the DMX output of my laptop and played it back on my bookcases. Next time you are in town you will have to see it. I should have expensed this as an office expense - j/k!

  • Genius. Pure genius.
