@StinkiwinkiPoo As far as I know the sea doesn't reach Athens, Georgia where the band formed. It's about R.E.M.'s circle of friends back when they were at uni, they would go out to these natural pools out of town and swim after a party

"Everybody Hurts" got all the airplay from the AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE album, but from my point of view "Nightswimming" is a superior song. The best ballad by a group that had several outstanding songs in a variety of styles.

Out here in the country 'Nightswimming' is called skinny dipping: "the fear of getting caught...You can not see me naked" I've never understood why, since I am made in the image and likeness of God, being publically naked is wrong? I love the song and skinny dipping...I hope youns get to be naked swimming with friends. PEACE.
