@aicewei Yes, I just like the control I get from sprinkling the spices. For instance, if the egg mixture or breadcrumbs don't all get used, I lose some of the spiciness that I would have otherwise.
Yummmmmmm.....my favorite fries were the 'crinkle cut', but now i think Betty's Seasoned Hot 'n Spicy French Fries are!!! Thumbs up to ya sweet Betty and thankin' ya all for sharin'!! = )
I watch a ton of cooking videos on cable and the Internet. I like watching yours the most. They're perfect for my level of cooking, as well as my taste. Thanks!
@BellaMia2728 You can look at the video of super bowl suggestions that I made for super bowl last year; it's loaded with ideas for super bowl parties!
hi betty, you could try to mix the seasonings with the bread crumbs to save you some trouble..so you can just take them from the egg wash and put it straight into the bread crumbs. definitely going to try this recipe as well! looks delicious
I love french fries, and love adding seasonings to them...will definitely try this one. Questions: is it possible to use a deep fryer - like the one you used to make onion rings? Can i use packaged frozen french fries instead?
@1piecemage The refrigeration was for my convenience. You may continue with the process, once you have drained the partially cooked potatoes and cooled them with cold water.
@bettyskitchen I love your recipes, they're really great! I have a question though.. Is there a specific reason as to why you don't use an HD camera? They pretty inexpensive, and they really do make a difference..
What about putting the spices in the egg wash? I always do this when I coat my "Wiener Schnitzel". It is very handy and you could bake the egg at the end!
These look very scrumptious Betty. I will be making these quite soon. I loved your quick outfit change between 3.44 and 3.45 ;-)....thanks for sharing your lovely recipes I hope that you, and the family are keeping well ..best wishes to you all ....Richard

@CitrineVlogging - that comment makes absolutely no sense. Why would fat in a pot be less fatty than in a deep fat fryer. If God did not want us to eat fat he would have made us plants (except for Venus Fly Traps which eat fat flies).
@wfmitchell Rick here--electric fryers are nice, but when you put a big load of cool food in one, the oil temp drops and is slow to get back up to speed. Frying on our gas range makes it easier to keep the temps in the proper range--with a bit of fiddling on the controls.
This looks really yummy:)

Betty? Why don't you use a deep fat fryer?

@wfmitchell because they are very very unhealthy and unneccesary to spend money on when it's not as fatty to put oil in a pot.
