awesome video, great song but did he botch the lyrics? he forgot "leukemia, schizphrenia, polyethylene" and instead sang "decaffinate, unleaded, polyethyelene" in both stanzas? I wish they still played this song at shows. MY GOD!
Wow, I was listening to the '98 Radio City Music Hall bootleg earlier today, was wondering if there were any live vids of Polyethylene, and this turns out to be that same performance that I was listening to. Great vid, thanks for the upload. I'd be really interested in more vids from that concert, it's great.
oh wow, this is from '98 Radio City Music Hall in NYC right? Do you have any more videos from this concert? Please upload if so.
I was there both nights, but this one was great! They played a ton of B-Sides and they were all happy that it was the last show of the OK Computer tour (documented in Meeting People is easy).
Not only is this the best Radiohead song ever, it is also one of the best songs ever written full stop, and makes me so sad that after Pablo, the Bends, and Ok computer, they put out one of the most disappointing albums of all time and totally disappeared up their own arses. Don't Kid A yourselves, this was Radiohead at their screaming best.
@mumraaaaa OPEN your MIND, man! Music's just vibrations, how could you hate a vibration? Pay attention to where they take you. Kid A is seminal in that it opened up the door for future electronic musicians to be taken seriously, which was very difficult in the 90s. People overlooked a lot of amazing stuff simply because it was beep boop music. How stupid is that? Answer: incredibly stupid.
This is such a brilliant song - these guys are truly musician's musicians: they can carry a tune live as well as in a studio and for that I applaud them - as well as the amazing quality of the songwriting.
@Nathaniel5672 I almost agree with you there. Its a fantastic song, But then again, I think it may have been a little overstated and drawn from the overall impact of the album. Besides, I kind of like this song being a little more obscure; shows a bit of depth in radiohead's discography when songs as good as this are in EPs
This is one of their best songs! how come they didnt put it on Ok computer is beyond anyones knowledge, but well ok computer is probably perfect so it's ok anyway. but i love this song =)
@RanulfoKnox I agree, although everybody says this about any of their b-sides. So maybe every album should just contain 25 songs and then everybody is happy:P
it used to be rare, as it was on limited release in the us. it was rereleased sometime around 2007 if i recall correctly in the uk and internationally, so now its pretty common.
I remember when I saw them play this at Worcester Centrum during the "OK" tour. At the time I was like "this song is good....JUST!!! PLAY IT!!!" Didn't know at the time this would turn out to be my fave
wow, great video...pretty good quality of a rare live song given when it's from, plus a nice moment between thom and nigel. this is a 6-star video if there ever was one.
As much as I love the electronica of Kid A, which is my favorite album of all time by any group, Radiohead can put out a kick-ass guitar rock song. Brilliant.
Imagine Tom Yorke playing this in the The Bends Era!

Me too. I thought that Part 1 was as good as any part of Paranoid Android, and Part 2 is as good or better than any song on The Bends.
