BMK a Genius!

Dr Balamurali Krishna is legend in Carnatic music, where as Yesudas is celebrity in Carnatic music. The rendition and Alap of Balamurali Krishna is very excellent and we cannot compare his rendition with Yesudas. There is vast difference between Balamurali and Yesudas. Balamurali is sky and Yesudas is earth.

Those who compare yesudas and Dr Balamuralikrishna are biased and totally ignorant of the elements of classical music. Yesudas is not a patch on Dr Balamuralikrishna. Listen to some real classical numbers of Yesudas (not the usual malayalam films semi classical), you will find Yesudas actually going "Besura". He loses his tone, rhythm, pitch and goes awry. Not fit for classical music. But Dr Balamurali is sublime, pure. Its like comparing Pollard and Sachin Tendulkar - just an eg from cricket

nobody can compare in that aspect

in everything else Bhimsen Joshi was the master

i am comparing artists from different styles, because they are each the topmost stalwarts of their styles, and no other reason

Balamurali is a genius, both technically and aesthetically. There are many who are very good in one or the other, but few who are so good in both.

An infinitesimal rendition of hamsadhwani.just adopt kalpana swaras wherever the heart takes you, produce spontaneous sangathis that add much flavour to the already beautiful krithi....& that takes just the Great Dr BMK to produce!
