I thought I could talk to animals when I was a kid, and I did like she is doing, except I discovered that I just had an over imagination. I started with guessing, and then eventually believed whatever I "interpreted". My mom thought it was real, maybe because of my child's intuition. That is all I see happening here. Animals can be understood, but they don't communicate like humans do.
