i think when they added topanga's character as a cast member as opposed to a recurring guest star in season one, they completely wrote a new character and disregarded everything but her name from season one. in season one cory and topanga aren't friends at all, he just makes fun of her, maybe because he likes her but then in season two you get the impression from the first episode that they're good friends and always have been, where in season one there was no mention of that...just my thoughts.

In my family we don't say it a lot, and I know others who throw it around all of the time so it seems like nothing. I had a friend who used to say it, and I'd say 'thanks'. She laughed about it later. Some think it needs to be said often while others think that if you say it all the time it doesn't mean as much
