Well, I think they were called Anthems for In-subordinates back in the early 90's then Dave got more comfortable with the band, so they began calling themselves A Fire Inside when Shut Up and Open Your Eyes came out in 97'.

I think Their stuff from Black Sails and Art of Drowning-era are the most distinct they have made, yet that sound is almost entirely borrowed from Glenn Danzig.
