  • Nice! Lool everybody knows who have a little good brain u have to breat out when its hard en in when u rest..

  • Scott I have an important question about this exercise and technique. Recently I've seen a video titled: Proper Crunch Technique (by masterblevins) and it showed floor crunches in completely different way, with flat spine, short movement - only few inches (not a full movement). Their tips are totally opposite to yours. So, what is the proper way to do it? I'm really confused now.

  • is this work????

  • shf, y do i find this super easy?

  • @trollwarlord3 because you're probably doin it wrong

  • @trollwarlord3 ye u fuking loser fuck you.

  • thanks for the video good technique. its weird that all people can talk about is the sound he makes

  • yeah and holding your breathe just makes it all worse lol.... found that out the hard way :l

  • martial artists breathe like that, it gives your strikes more power

  • Thanks a lot Scott...For all the good stuff you post..You are truly an inspiration..Appreciate it :)

  • dont shush me! lol

  • hes a blow off valve lol

  • Say what you will about the tshhh, but you can't argue with his results.

  • Why does he keep thsss'ing on me :(

  • @SuperHotToday69 Because he is demonstrating the breathing technique.

  • How does these people do this :1 Count the reps ,2 think about the muscle contraction , 3 inhale and exhale at the right time ,also the 4 tshhhh thing.

  • ok its annoying how everyone has different techniques. He said curve your back while many others say keep it flat.

  • Can anyone help me please? I've been doing looooots of wrong crunches.. hundrets at once.. for some time.. and now i'm doing them correctly (or at least i'm trying).. but the thing is that i feel no pain in these muscles.. i'm trying everything but it's just not hard to me. I don't really think that i'm doing them wrong... i actually had a well trained sixpack and it's disappearing slowly.. i'm really distressing myself a lot. thanks

  • @yairoka

you have to do a rest from training immideately! for month or even two, Im serious! Just take a brake and come again for training! The abs will dissapear veery slowly believe me and after two months you will have to do only 2-3 weeks of training to come back to previous results!

  • @goldfingeris well.... i took a break for about 2 months a while ago and my abs dissappeared slowly... you know why? because this way i didn't lose fat any more. doing lotta abs is also good for losing fat.. but maybe you are right too... it's just that I've got my personal training and i think i know what i'm doing.. until now it's really effective and nobody helped me with the theoretical stuff.. i think just go and train is more important than listening to different people suggesting...

  • @goldfingeris ...different things... but thanks a lot

  • Notice as how he talks that vein pops op haha what a penis

  • tshhhhhhhhu tshhhhhhhhu

  • bless you

  • my back make farts when i try this

  • i hate doing crunhces i never do them right at all

  • one year anniversary of this video!! =D

  • this is really helpful an im gettin reslts thanx for the vid

  • @SypherDubstep very true. also breathing out while your abs are contracted gives your abs a better range of motion

  • i could tsh him

  • its funny how its says "5 stars" when theres only a like and dislike button

  • @junior214223 .......i hope you know that you tube changed the whole 5 stars thing like 2 years ago

  • awesome!

  • I'm starting to make louder breath-out noises when working out. I helps me remember to breath.

It's a little awkward when people are around, but at least is better than not breathing at all and stopping the exercise prematurely.

As always, thanks Scott. You videos are always so helpful.

  • hes using TSHHH to show you guys, that you need to breathe when your going up the crunch.

  • does it wrk out without the tshhh part?

  • @cheleo037

No, absolutely does not work without the TSSSSH! Might as well sit on the couch and crunch potato chips.

  • your videos are awesome, thanks alot : )

  • Breathing IS important for EVERY exercise!

  • The "tssh" sound is how he breathes out. And he's doing it so loudly so all the viewers see and hear when he breathes out when performing this exercise. Trust me, he's really good on teaching.

  • hey scott great video, but whenever i try to do crunches my neck starts to give out far before i start to feel it in my core, any advice?

  • everything is greay but i hate the tshhh

  • GOOD OME

  • Hey Scott, i've been watching your vids on and off for some time now, and if you wouldn't mind answering, i have a simple question concerning the abdominal muscles - i have a following problem: I do have the classic 6 pack abs but i'm just not getting that "V" shaped muscle that goes along your hips (not sure of it's name) to show. My question is - have you done any exercise videos where you focus on that muscle? If you haven't, what exercises do you suggest for building that particular muscle?

  • @Archronos1 There is workout focusing on that, great!

  • @Archronos1 I believe what you are referring to is called the abdominal oblique muscle (more commonly referred to as obliques). Most core exercises like planks cover this muscle fairly well.

  • I hate crunchies. I try to do over 100 of them inbetween other stuff in the gym. Please note that I 'try' to do over 100. They are seriously hard!

  • can u get like proper ripped abs with this exercise ?

  • You really like those blue shorts dont ya

  • Scott, you need to change it from "5 stars for proper form" to "Thumbs up for proper form" =D

  • Ejem... a question of curiosity... Why the tshhh... when you exhale??? I always have had that doubt...

  • @omare22 it's good for breathing. boxers do it after when they punch.

  • If, by '5 stars for perfect form,' you mean your own, then yes. Definitely 5 stars.

  • thats almost a 45 degree angle not a 90 which looks like an L

  • ur so awsm bro

  • I'm sorry Scott I cannot give 5 stars for proper form. But I can give you a "Like."

  • Very informative!

  • that breathing is really not necessary for a crunch lol..

  • @iliketopetdolphins perhaps because hes so jacked he needs to breath like that...

  • @iliketopetdolphins its to show where he breathes..

  • tshhhhhhh, tshhhhhh, tshhhhhhh,

  • @MrWaffles0303 lol

    he was catching a mosquito

  • This is an especially useful vid even though it's super basic because so many people do this exercise. A question: so you maintain this arch in your back throughout the movement? Your lower back does not touch the floor?

  • tsch, tschi

  • i was obviously paying attention to how to do the workout but i just noticed u have a little bit of a treasure trail - i thought u said u shaved lol

-cough- anyways...can u show me how to do that again? :P

  • Hey Scott Herman wat do we do about the belly fat ?do i hv to run ?any other methods ?

  • @shameelfaraz cardio workouts, such as running, swimming, rollerblading, enything that rases ur heartbeat. And by the way, bellyfat is the last one to burn off, so be patient. Good luck!

  • @agnaeus if i am doing all that so am i losing mass frm all around my body ? (which i do not want)

  • @shameelfaraz definetly not, if you eat propelly and you eat protein. Be sure not to eat eny donuts or chocolate or eny extra calories=fat. If you do, your cardio workouts are complite waste of time. And dont forget the gym for getting more muscles.

  • @shameelfaraz I know you asked him, but I figured I'd tell you that I've heard cardio like running (really getting heart rate up) is essential. You can have great abs, but if there's too much excess fat, nobody will see them. As I've gotten older too (i'm 26), it gets harder. When I was like up to age 22, I didn't have to even try to have abs..they were just there. As you get older, it gets much harder.

  • @matwocents well im 21 n i think i hv belly fat , is it too bad to hv belly fat at this age ?

  • very good

  • awesome dude keep up the good work

  • Can you get back to giving us some unique exercise variations. I feel that you have been showcasing too many basic exercises; of which there are hundreds of on youtube.

  • @gamegenie11 you might knw hw to do a floor crunch but till nw i didnt knw dat i was doing em wrng so this vid helped me and im sure it helped others to =)

but ur right i would like to see some of his unique routines.

  • no more 5 stars its a thumbs up thumbs down system now

  • Looks good, keep it up man!

  • Hey Scott, YouTube has removed the "stars" rating... now it's just "like" or "dislike". Just FYI!

  • Shoulders and Abs tomorrow, perfect timing.

  • Thanks scott :D

  • Good stuff.
