Last week was the first time I heard both the djs (Imagine and Kaliedoscope). The thing is Armin's music more melodious, tunes are awesome. I enjoyed a lot. Almost all the tunes were great. Same with deadmau5. In Tiesto's work, beats were more kinda hard. Tunes were like anyone could make them, I didn't enjoyed very much.However Tiesto used some advanced plugins never heard before. But hes not using them well. Im neither fan of Armin nor of Tiesto, just want some nice music to melt my ears.

You may have a point that Armin may have felt so inspired to 'borrow' some of Tiesto's sounds, but if artists didn't take elements of one another's work, add their own touch, creativity and vision, we wouldn't have progressed further. Tiesto has inspired millions of fans and producers across the world with his unique sounds; and Armin has given us some fantastic music as well. I bet they're good friends too!

Tiesto's productions in 1999-2003(5)smashed. Dennis Waakop Reijers deserves a lot credit. There were also Hans Willem who left Tiesto's team because of giving him any credits than he deserved The list of people who made Tiesto tracks is longer: G.Huinink, C.Fijneman, Benno De Goeij and more. I dunno why people attack Armin. He produced(till 2006)everything on his own. I'm sure that his productions skills are indisputable.

Majority of oldschool trance-addicts actually rank Tiesto right down to the bottom of their lists as a producer and dj. His best years as producer were between 1999-2003, first years of ISOS when he truly gave birth to lots of masterpieces. After that everything has been going downhill for him and the whole genre. I am not fan of Armin either, he's as bad today as Tiesto but I still have lot more

On a side note, most Armin fans are people who began listening to trance post 2005, They do not know that Tiesto is the pioneer of trance and is the main reason why it is so popular today. He has done things that no DJ , including Armin,can do today.(Play infront of a 2 billion audience for the Olympics)His firework display in Tiesto in Concert 2004 cannot even be emulated today.His music is just too goood & with his new Album - Kiss from the past , he has proven it once again.Best of all time.

Last week was the first time I heard both the djs (Imagine and Kaliedoscope). The thing is Armin's music more melodious, tunes are awesome. I enjoyed a lot. Almost all the tunes were great. Same with deadmau5. In Tiesto's work, beats were more kinda hard. Tunes were like anyone could make them, I didn't enjoyed very much.However Tiesto used some advanced plugins never heard before. But hes not using them well. Im neither fan of Armin nor of Tiesto, just want some nice music to melt my ears.

Ok so the reason why there are so many of these "comparisons" is because all Dj's play each others music and use each others props, its a fact.
I'd hardly call armin a copycat if he was ranked DJ of the year 4 times in a row according to top 100 DJ's. i also believe the throwing of the headphones into the crowd originated with drumsticks. Tiesto was probably just the first person to realize he could throw an autographed, janky ass pair of headphones into the crowd after a show.

This video is a big misrepresentation of two very successful and talented artists. You may have a point that Armin may have felt so inspired to 'borrow' some of Tiesto's sounds, but if artists didn't take elements of one another's work, add their own touch, creativity and vision, we wouldn't have progressed further. Tiesto has inspired millions of fans and producers across the world with his unique sounds; and Armin has given us some fantastic music as well. I bet they're good friends too!

No matter where you are, no matter what style the dj is playing, if a tiesto song starts playing, the WHOLE crowd will go nuts. This is not the case for armin. All though, armin has made such an impact on the trance scene by doing what no other dj has done before. I love trance and I have been listening to it for almost 10 years now. Tiesto is good/awesome/great.. But Armin stands in a whole new level. Tiesto gave up mixing trance because he knows he can't do it better than Armin. That's the reason why he switch genre to mixing house/electro. I dunno why people attack Armin. He produced(till 2006)everything on his own. I'm sure that his productions skills are indisputable.

And look as a matter of facts if ya'll wanna talk awards and polls and shit... TIesto was number 1 in the TheDjlist for almost 6 YEARS RUNNING and ain't nobody talkin shit about that... Armin is a seriously talented producer but Tiesto is just light years ahead ahead of him... AT EVERYTHING... in remixing,producing and live spinning... no matter how i look at it,Tiesto is just simply Superior....

@frtmp Tiesto is nowhere near Armin when it comes to remixing, producing or even live spinning. Majority of oldschool trance-addicts actually rank Tiesto right down to the bottom of their lists as a producer and dj. His best years as producer were between 1999-2003, first years of ISOS when he truly gave birth to lots of masterpieces. After that everything has been going downhill for him and the whole genre. I am not fan of Armin either, he's as bad today as Tiesto but I still have lot more

@frtmp respect for him - as a producer, as a remixer and as a DJ. I absolutely loved Tiesto and his music 10 years ago, but today he is nothing but a name that you and every new trance-lover seem to praise as your god of trance. The fact that he got the chance to play for massive audiences made him famous and that's the reason you seem to think that he's the number one. Trance is in it's saddest state ever and Tiesto is one of the biggest names to blame.

@frtmp I'm judging based on my experience of people who love Tiesto. Most of them are newcomers, I have no idea where you belong but I'm adding you to that group because of your single-sided opinions. I'm am not a trance historian but people who rank Tiesto as high as you do, deserve a gentle slap in the face and anyone with over 10 years of experience in trance is capable for that role. I know that trance evolves and maybe I should join in. But I just can't stand it's horrible state.

Besides, Armin openly admitted that if he was to be accused of copying anyone it should be Oakenfold.
Either way no other dj/producer has makes me as happy so he's number one in my books.

This video is ridiculous. Armins production style, mastering and djing is completely different to Tiestos. In my opinion Armins that much better, only reason he didn't get nominated for that poll is because the magazine was trying to be 'too cool to follow the hype', bunch of indie wankers lol
