  • A wondrous game like this is underapreciated thanks to stupid, brainless shooters

  • I got this game for 10 bucks, and once I started to play I was sickened by the fact that I paid so little... which is the first time I ever felt that way about anything, really. It's as underrated as Darksector, but fulfilled most of the potential that Darksector wasted on it's multiplayer that nobody even played D:... Still, The soundtrack is what still jumps out at me most. The only thing I ever had a problem with was the fishing - Now THAT was faulty. Everything else makes up for it, so.

  • Just throwing on my Studio quality headset and listening to these songs in a row while i work! ^_^

Nier is the only game i actually feel like deserved the 60$ price-tag when i actually only paid 20$ last summer...

  • 1:20

I hear "eat my shoe". Wat.

Anyhow, this soundtrack is amazing, I believe this is one of the best OST's I've ever heard. The choir is just... Wow. Undescribable, it's that good.

  • Finally, Square get's an imagination again, and I'm talking a REAL one.

Too bad not enough of us appreciated it.

  • @thedragonb0y dont give them credit they only published it, cavia is the real geniuses behind the amazingness they made it, also related games drakengard and drakengard 2

  • @XxblackrainstudioxX Yeah I learned this a long time ago (hence why youtube NEEDS to allow us to edit our freaking comments).

Cavia also did work in Residen Evil: Darkside Chronicles (don't know about Umbrella though).

  • Does any1 know were the vocal only version of this song is?

    like in the mansion

  • BEST GAME BEST GAME BEST GAME BEST GAME

  • is Emi Evans singing on this one?

  • @Alianger yep

  • Ultimate weapon: Number 6.

    Poor Halua. =(

  • what language is the ost in?

  • @quocdarock its a made up language that was inspired by the ancient Irish language called Gaelic

  • My god this game made me cry, more than FF7 when Aeris passed... The wolfs in the desert... Beautiful game, great music and amazing story.... Thanks Square

  • @shinyshiny82 really? yes it was sad with fyra but damn not more than aeris

  • @hjchamp04 If only I hadn't found Aeris an annoying character. XD I felt a lot more for Fyra.

  • For those who don't know, on new game + you can understand what the shadow bosses are saying

  • @75haseo It would be nice to know what the early ones say, too. Unfortunately starting your 2nd playthrough drops you off at the midway point, for some godforsaken reason. =/

  • God, the soundtrack breaks my heart.

Especially during the state of the world the game takes place in. EVERYONE IS DYING. FACK. D'x

  • @HighPlanes420 I'm not a gameplay kind of guy. It's the only reason I made it through Drakengard. And the graphics were actually really good. Of course, I'm more of a retro gamer myself, the only reason I have a 360 is because of this game. I just couldn't miss out on it.

  • I love this game so much it's one of the only ones which makes you feel emotional when you play it lol. Cutscenes against the bosses are great and the twists in the story made me want to continue further into the game. I was gutted when I finally completed it lol

  • I found myself wandering through Emil's mansion on more than one occasion just to hear the singing. I wish it was a bigger 'dungeon' though, since the strange occurrences were fun to spot.

  • Absolutely beautiful piece of music. I love how videogame OSTs have surpassed movie OSTs over time.

  • do you have the version of this song that is only the vocals? the one played in Emil's mansion?

  • @ryodark That was a trick of your imagination. The game turned up the voice because the background music is still there. At least, in all the parts I've played/replayed.

  • Personally I liked Weiss the best. When he 'died' I was like... Wtf.

  • @disturbedking8 Same, he was funny as hell at some points. Especally when you first meet him. Weiss FTW!!!

  • @alef321 Sadly, game play is no longer about story alone. It's about gameplay. And that's all gamers look at.

  • @LoneStarImmortal Gameplay is important though, you can't say its not. Would you have played something like Kingdom Hearts if the gameplay wasn't good? Plus Nier had a pretty good gameplay, could it have been better ya, but the story and music made this game epic. And i'm getting so pissed from people saying the graphic were bad...... No they weren't, go to the sea port on the beach area and just look outward and try to tell me it don't look awesome.

  • Whoa whoa whoa why'd you bring Kingdom Hearts into this :O?

hehe j/k if someone is worried bout graphics then they will never truly play a good game.

  • As with every video game out there, Nier is not for everyone. You don't like the game? You don't have to play it, nor do you have to be an ass about it.

  • Wunderwaffe! lol

  • this game trumps everything you get so close to the characters for me the character was khaine more so than anyone i cried all 3 of the times she died and i didnt cry when my grandma died or even when my aunt died i didnt care but... this game is too sad for me right now i cant finish again

  • @deathmetalguitaristx another game series that makes you really care for the characters (though is not quite as depressing) is the Persona series from atlus. P3 and P4 are my absolute favorite RPGs

  • super underated game. any non-unidimensional thinkin human that have feelings for fictionals characters and love drama and some good variation on your tipical RPG and action adventure game should check this out =D

  • @alef321 Definitely, not many games have put me to the brink of tears as much as this game.

  • @alef321 yet again, because of stupid brainless gamers that hate actually thinking let this game type die out and instead Assassins Crred comercials are on tv like diahrea.

  • @JadeDan20 i cant find a place to buy this cd for about $25....amazon has it for $74 but i cant afford that. Anyone know where i can find it? thanks

  • Wtf? I'm shocked that someone would even consider saying this was a bad game. It was amazing in my opinion, I felt like I was in another world while I played it.

  • I just can't handle the awesomeness. It almost feels that i'm in love with the sound.

  • Square enix rules ps3 ^^

  • i love the soundtrack. sometimes i just sit there and listent to them.

  • @nickdeon09 I do the same thing.

  • @nickdeon09 don't we all :)

  • the sound tracks are a bit odd but beautiful=]. Simply beautiful

  • this game has the best soundtracks so far for me...!!!

  • @bleach92master Same Here :)

  • to be honest, I'm very displeased that not many people are watching these videos, doesn't anyone have any taste!!!!!

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS

It is probably because the game itself was really bad. Though people do have terrible taste in music these days in general. I love this music and the OST to this game is amazing but the game doesn't do the music justice. It was a tedious and boring game. I could never finish it and it was also to weird for most people's taste. Too bad because the soundtrack is amazing.

  • @HybridEnergy too bad for you, yeah the game's weird and thats what makes it awesome, besides the storyline is just way perfect. At times is tedious but the only tedious thing about it are the sidequests... which of course aren't necessary to undertake. Besides i cleared the game in 48 hours... thats actually kind of short but even so the storyline keeps on expanding afterwards.

Look if u need someone to push u down that cliff just let me know u stupid shithead :D

  • @TheDeatharcana

Yea... I'm a shithead because I don't like this game. Oh wait, neither does any other review anywhere in the world. Gimmie a break. The game looks terrible, the combat system is a joke, the weirdness kills the story and the voice acting is inconsistent and laughable. Don't speak of story, if I want a good story I will go play Mass Effect 2 and if I want to laugh I will play Nier. Don't get me wrong though, the music is great and I go back to listen to it all the time.

  • @HybridEnergy reviews made by gay and retarded people (such as ign, gamespot and shit) two of the best guys here in youtube whom reviewed the game basically agreed in something... the game is underrated, and the same asswhipes whom underrated the game gave MW2 a 10/10. That goes to say that u cant do a review of an RPG when u like FPS's, and sadly the game actually its really good and one of the best, BUT i realized that its pointless to try and force someone like something that they don't.

  • @HybridEnergy but still sadly the game is underrated and thats what makes IGN and gamespot and faggets like joystik hypocrites and asswhipes

  • @TheDeatharcana

I actually gave the game a shot. Thanks to the music. The more I played the less I liked it, usually that is the opposite. I have liked games that got poor scores before but this one I had to agree with the scores. Its cool if you like it man I guess. I loved Silent HIll Homecoming and everyone else thought it was shit.

  • @HybridEnergy Homecoming was beautiful :D

but yeah it just depends on what u like.... my bad bro

  • @HybridEnergy I loved SE: Homecoming as well. Perfect balance of creepiness and desperation and storyline.

Nier, on the other hand, very beautiful story and awesome music.

  • @HybridEnergy

    Mass Effect 2...

    Good story...

What cave are you living in?

Nier has its problems, I agree on the graphics and the side quest are mostly boring grinds.

But story is one of the GREAT points of Nier. Either you didn't finish it or you didn't really get it.

  • @Elesthor

It was way to odd for me I guess. You are saying ME2 didn't have a good story? Apparently the same cave as most people.

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS I'm displeased with myself that i didn't watch these videos sooner.

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS It's sad but true. I love all this music from Nier. I too wish more people had better taste these days.

  • @VinMechaSamurai you know how it is these days all about rock -_-

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS thats cause they alredy BOUGHT SOUNDTRACK!

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS lately it has become more about quantity rather than quality so beauty´s such as these dom´t get what they deserve a shame really

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS I'd say it's more most people have a strong instinct to actively avoid Cavia games.

If the games don't outright suck out loud like Drakenguard 2, they rip out the player's heart and stomp on it like in Nier. Honestly, I was pretty damn morose after I got ending D in Nier.

  • @FinalFantasyR0CS not about taste, just preference. Many people would prefer games that they can be light-hearted about, in which this game is the exact opposite as the soundtrack suggests. Try to understand things from this point of view.

  • first LOL HHAHAHAUAHAUh

  • @garrettchap1 stay classy!

  • @lusteraliaszero no u! <3
