@lankyGigantic But that's the problem. The Sniper is a vet with experience, a professional with standards. Where the Scout is, as you said it, "a guy looking for excitement" on the battlefield, fresh from Boston. And the Scout is rather cocky, so he'd fit the role of the '10-year vet' perfectly.

That was from MGS (the original for the Playstation).

There was a point fairly early in MGS4 (after you meet up with Meryl) where it shows original gameplay, and that clip is based off of that (MGS).

No. If you've played Metal Gear Solid Four than you know that scene is a mis-understanding. Snake(the Spy) thinks that Akiba(the Sniper) is an enemy, but they are really on the same side. So they have the same color.
