Maculifrons' wasp looks pretty much like a marimbondo. They construct little nests, and act like bees in flowers (although they are not very fond to European bees - I did take a sting of one European bee when I was 8, I'm very afraid because people say marimbondo hurts at least 2 times more - and can be killed by Africanized bees). I ate a few of marimbondo honey when I was 12 in an old nest that was in the fallen leaf of a palmtree, it is good as normal honey, but I know it is not safe. :D

I don't have desperate fear of marimbondos (Brazilian wasps) which is weird because I'm afraid of bugs and mothes flying around me. They came everyday in my house and there were even one which landed on me, licked my sweat, find it good and started walking on my skin looking for more.

I almost died of fear, but if I react, would howl in pain (although the stings of that marimbondo are usually not lethal when it's just one and when the person is not allergic, it wasn't the deadly 'throat patch').

@liuton2005 Wasps are provoked by movement. If you run away, they will go after you (and they can fly 30 mph!). I have stood still while others ran away, and watched the wasps go after them because they were running. Furthermore, wasps have NO sense of justice whatsoever; they will sting you even if it wasn't you who threw that rock that hit their nest. (Dad said not to throw rocks at 'em and we weren't, but one little girl hit it and we all ran; one got me above the eye!)
