Good freakin' gravy...will (some of) you people please learn to proofread your comment(s) before you post it - so it actually makes sense. And learn to spell while your at it. Because if you don't you look REALLY stupid when you're trying to put someone else down. That's all, thanks, have a nice day.
i try to shot a large hog with the slingbow and it died! i triple up the hard band on each side of the wrist rocket and it shoot like a bullet! Thanks for sharing the video now i can hunt like a pro! :)
Like others I can't see this stopping an adult deer. I don't think it has enough power to wound the animal serious enough for you to be able to track it after it took off. Maybe step up the demo: Take a deer hide or other animal hide, drape it over a ham or something and show us the results. On the other hand it is a very creative way to shoot an arrow and would probably be good for bow fishing in survival situation.
If a bear attacks? Bears only attack if you walk around in their territory or if they feel threatened by you. What a lame excuse to kill a beautiful wild animal..
I am a bow hunter of some 30 years and if you can post a video of you killing a deer with this rig I will send you one hundred dollars. I rank this video right up there with the one where you lay in the pit with your silly knife. Total hogwash! I noticed you didn't accept that challenge, I doubt you will accept this one either.
With a bit more alteration taking some more time into the design I could see this as being a good alternative to the bow and its size makes for easy packing.
ten yards from a deer is pretty fucking hard to do , professional deer stalkers find it hard to get twice as close, and to be honest i dont think your mickey mouse slingshot has sufficient power to effectivly penetrate into a deers vital organs. a bale of wet grass aint the same as a deer hide.
when youve actually shot a deer with that set-up id be interested to see the video.
i think its a little irresponsible to promote this as an effective hunting weapon. buy a proper gun and stop playing.
"Even I can learn something new from youtube." In other words, I know almost everything and I am better than you. I have just one question... Will it kill a deer in a heart beat?
im gonna call bullshit on this. first no broadhead. second not enough draw weight to produce the penetration needed to get a quick and humane kill on a deer. third, not enough kinetic energy to reach the vitals on a deer. fourth, it illegal in most states because the law requires a minimum of 45lbs draw weight. fifth, deer are not stupid, only the best of stalkers can get close enough to a deer to use this and even then they are smart enough to know that they need something bigger and better.
I must admit, I didn't think you had it in ya, but your show Duel Survival is awesome! Nice how two completely different ppl, a hunter and barefoot hippie can work togethor! You guys make a good team. Nice way of demonstrating two different survival techniques. I wouldn't want to walk barefoot in some of those places though, especialy poison ivy infested woods. the reason why you are a hunter is because you have no other education than killing. obviously you gotta defend what you know. me on the other i used to eat meat like you do now. the difference is i learned a better way of surviving, never been a reason to killing for survival. what a bunch of nonsense!
@whereismywater so you start out saying something kinda factual since more animals eat plants than other animals, then you go to say that not eating animals is the right way in a survival situation. Most experts agree hunting and gathering are both required. Go spread your sandy vegan vagina nonsense somewhere else.
If you even manage to shoot a deer with a freakin wrist rocket you'll barely wound it. This is a joke. Deer still run away after getting hit with .308 rounds and 85lbs draw compound bows. If you can pull it to full draw by pinching the arrow and not pulling the string it's a child's toy. This video is made for people who have never hunted or shot a real bow b4. And that's a rubber band not a ranger band, lmao. Good luck getting 30ft (10 yards) from a deer that's not in Yosemite or some other park
To live one must kill. Whether it be a plant or a cow. Yes, fellow mammals are warm and fuzzy, but when I grew up, (cough) awhile ago, we killed our own pigs, cows, chickens, etc. Some of them I helped raise from babies. Point is we treated them well, then ate them. Just a fact of life. Scientist now say some plants show very primitive signs of awareness. But, to live you have to eat, so in one form or another we take away from the world. Just give some back. : P

@whereismywater he doesn't condone animal cruelty, it's only for survival skills. If you watch some of his shows you will notice that he eats his kills and he makes sure that the animals undergo absolute minimal pain. There is absolutely nothing wrong with killing animals for food unless the animals undergo extreme unnecessary pain. Also how did you manage to get on this video? you must have been searching for 'hunting'.
@whereismywater "i think you've killed enough innocence already. you can stop now"
Grow up. This is teaching SURVIVAL skills. You may not always be able to buy salads and tofu and latte at your local market ... in which case the Bambi-loving loonies will be the first ones to starve -- Darwin at work.
look mr. hunter. you sent me an email message. i merely just responded in my own words. that's not considered spam mr. wildlife killer. the reason you marked me spam is because you have no more answers and no more excuses for your unjust behavior towards our wildlife.
I believe you make up survival stories. Nobody on this planet needs to shoot an animal to survive. come on get serious. I was never in a situation where i would personally have to drive out into the wilderness to trap an animal stealthily and needlessly, to kill. sorry that is not survival. it's not sport and they are not products. they feel like you and I. we can be healthy without harassing our animal friends all the time. therefore, no necessity to kill an innocent animal with such ferocity
@whereismywater No dumbass, that's not it. I understand how this could be useful if needed. Oh, and those 21 years were definately not a waste of time. However, I understand, most people that are either not qualified or are afraid to join the military make the comments you make.
@USMCrecruitOORAH you wanna be shark brain? sorry bud. a shark is a carnivore. you are not. a shark has a place in its eco system as a regulator. you on the other hand are mindlessly driving species to extinction. while people with an evolved brain trying to save em.
@whereismywater lol wait are u bitchin about killin or extinction....because i kill but not mass kill... im not harming the ecosystem, im taking my share of the pie though. im not killing white lions or anything, im killing species with abundance, were the native americans mindless killers? no, neither am i....killing is a part of nature and im just flamin you because you make it seem that killing is wrong in some way >.> im an omnivore, i pick my apples and kill my prey.
@USMCrecruitOORAH Correction: the Native Americans WERE mindless killers. The stereotype comes from the fact that they nearly wiped out their food supply and then learned their lesson.
Killing IS wrong you ethically retarded, ignorant fuckwit
@USMCrecruitOORAH killing an animal is a shame but often necessary and let's face it, eating cow beats eating lettuce any day of the week...i dated a vegetarian for awhile and she thought animals were too precious to eat, but like i told her, animals eat animals, animals kill animals, animals eat humans, animals kill humans, so why not join in the beast feast, we have canines for a reason
@deputydillhole exactly, but i see no shame in killing an animal...i love animals, i see the beauty in all of them, but genetically we are ment to eat them. my girl right now is a vegetarian lol, cant cook shit for her because everything i eat is some type of animal, with like lettuce and tomatoe on the side(rarely). i dont understand how people can give up meat, we are ment to eat it like vampires thirst for blood lol.
@whereismywater animals in the wild the natural wild hunt and kill each other this has been going on as long as theres been life its the natural order that animals higher on the food chain eat those below just eating plants isnt natural unless your a herbivore not only that but protein from non animal sources is notorious for its very low quality protein if people never ate meat none of us would be her on youtube people were hunters before we were anything else your veganism is a product of
@l3054 Plant protein is the best type of protein. Protein from meat is harder to digest and is bad for you. Believe what you want meat causes cancer its a proven fact.
@MLGPeppy if your only talking about eating lots of red meat it can but too much of anything is bad for you plant protein is an inferior source of protein this is scientific fact eating only or mostly meat is bad for you but your being biased protein from meat has more bcaas and is easier to digest as far as protein is concerned people didnt survive for millions of years on berrys and plant foods we would be extinct right now if that was tried you beleive what you want but people are naturally
@MLGPeppy i believe ill take my chances, seriously go get you a nice med-rare steak, bake a potato and drink a beer. and iff you dont mean more for us. you can go ahead and eat your plants. protein is protein ill eat meat and plenty of it while you slowly starve your self to death.
@whereismywater society not of the natural world also theres not always gonna be stores around what if theres nuclear war or something else happens and the government dissolves than alls your green paper is good for is starting a fire you gotta be prepared in case something like that happens when or if it does youl probly be the first to die
@whereismywater dude, every heard of the food chain? animals and mammals that eat each other? we are part of that, we have the "right" to hunt them, you're an idiot for thinking only humans can not hunt animals or mammals, we are part of nature! you obviously know nothing.
LMFAO....... You would have to be sat on the back of the Dear for this weapon to have any effects, Above 10 yards the Dear would catch it in it's mouth and spit it further than You shot it!!! Some of You guys out there are just rambo wannabes with lots of tattoos and stangely shaven craniums.....lol.....
First, you're using target points and shooting into the flat side of the bale so the arrow can easily slide between the rolled layers of hay. If I do that with my hunting bow, I loose arrows inside the bale.
Try a real hunting broadhead and shoot into the round side of the bale. You'll be lucky to get 3 inches of penetration.
@BobbyHodgeHD Heartbeat you say..hmm dead eh? Let me think here. So like dead in a heartbeat. Interesting. One might say that this is a quick way to die, being that a heartbeat can be quick.'less of course we're talking about a lungfish in a period of suspended animation. This of course was not indicated, leaving me to assume that we're talking about a human heart beat,'less of course we're talking about a Buddhist Monk during meditation,in which case the heartbeat can be slowed down significantly
@plopnod Assuming we are of course talking about a human heartbeat, one must also specify on that specific humans level of fitness. If we look at people such as Miguel Indurain (cyclist), he is recorded as having one of the lowest bpm at around 28, then the average person ranging from 60-80 bpm or perhaps the unhealthy side of the scale coming in at 90+. We must also consider if this person has been active or not, this leaves much to ponder 0,o
yeah you got 10 inches with a hey bail and the truth is everyone is not a hunting master like you so maby 20 yards from a dear ... i think it would just wound it ... great idea though very creative
What i like about the slingshot arrow is when you have large game in your trap you can use the slingshot arrow to kill your game with out getting to close.
Great video. I would never have thought of a arrow and slingshot. I am 8yrs old and like to watch your show with my dad. I love your videos. Thank you.
i read a book calld Chuck Norris vs Mr.T and it said"a rabi,a nazi and a rabi nazi walked into a bar and Chuck Norris said ahh fuck it and round house kicked theire asses" and in another part of the book Atlas asked Mr.t to hold the Earth for him but Atlas had to hold M.t's chains and after five escrucialy painful minutes Atlas beggeg for the world back because the chains were heveier than the world.that book was so damn funny though
watching this on my new macbook that I WON FROM freetowin.info and OMG I love the vid quality^^ Orgasmmm!!!, CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE, they are also giving away JERSEYS, GIFTCARDS, IPHONES, IPADS and other giveaways !!!!
I made arrows with one foot 1/8 "spring steel rods as tips. I dropped a 10 ft. Sasquatch with a brain shot right between the eyes at 20 yards with my slingbow,
"i'm going to be in the woods in a survival situation. i won't have a gun, but i will have a sling shot with me...and extra tubing...and a key ring... and arrows with fletching..." what is the point in this information. neat, but useless.
@jonchristianify and you don't necessarily need a key ring, a stick lashed across the slingshot would work in a pinch. The arrow just needs something to rest on.
@zales1137 A slingshot works on the exact same principle as a bow, yet is able to provide more tension. This will work, if you can figure out how to put it together. You should be able to get that close to a deer if you are down wind.
@zales1137 I've heard of people bagging deer with 20lb draw survival bows by getting in closer than 10 yards. If you know what you are doing (i do not) you CAN get that close to a deer. I have no doubt Dave could do it.
It's a cheap and reliable sling shot too :) I got mine at Canadian Tire for under $20 CAD. I'm a terrible shot though :( even though I follow the instructions on the back of the packaging. if anyone has any tips please shoot me a reply or message i cant even hit a 1 1/2 inch steel pipe from 5 feet away
@whereismywater AHA! The solution is right in front of us! I eat meat, eating meat causes greenhouse gasses, greenhouses help plants grow, you eat plants. We all go home happy!
excellent. the knowledge in this video may save my life one day. to everyone worried about their carbon footprint, in the event that hunting and harvesting become the only means of feeding your family, enjoy your hunger while you wait for the soybeans and peanuts to grow.
The solution begins at home, with your own attitude. If you don't care that another creature has to die unnecessarily because of you, then you're obviously not going to care if a person that you've never met in a different country is dying also because of your diet choice.
UN did not invent the facts they merely bend to surmountable evidence. human activity causes heating of the atmosphere. 1 animal consumer produces 7x more green house gases then Vegan. Watch your carbon print. Factory animals, particularly meat and dairy products, accounts for 70% of global freshwater consumption, 38% of the total land use and 19% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. .

@TheGunman65 you mean you learned how to kill but don't know how this is useful. well i don't know either..21 years. what a waste of time.
whereismywater 3 weeks ago
@whereismywater No dumbass, that's not it. I understand how this could be useful if needed. Oh, and those 21 years were definately not a waste of time. However, I understand, most people that are either not qualified or are afraid to join the military make the comments you make.
TheGunman65 3 weeks ago
@TheGunman65 qualified to kill? no thanks i'd rather get qualified to do something peaceful. what a wasteful life to be born to kill others.
whereismywater 3 weeks ago
@whereismywater yes, the shark is a wasteful species, born to kill....as is the human, born to kill. sharks got teeth and muscle, we have brains
USMCrecruitOORAH 3 weeks ago
@USMCrecruitOORAH you wanna be shark brain? sorry bud. a shark is a carnivore. you are not. a shark has a place in its eco system as a regulator. you on the other hand are mindlessly driving species to extinction. while people with an evolved brain trying to save em.
whereismywater 3 weeks ago

TheLordSod 1 week ago
@USMCrecruitOORAH killing an animal is a shame but often necessary and let's face it, eating cow beats eating lettuce any day of the week...i dated a vegetarian for awhile and she thought animals were too precious to eat, but like i told her, animals eat animals, animals kill animals, animals eat humans, animals kill humans, so why not join in the beast feast, we have canines for a reason
deputydillhole 1 week ago
@deputydillhole exactly, but i see no shame in killing an animal...i love animals, i see the beauty in all of them, but genetically we are ment to eat them. my girl right now is a vegetarian lol, cant cook shit for her because everything i eat is some type of animal, with like lettuce and tomatoe on the side(rarely). i dont understand how people can give up meat, we are ment to eat it like vampires thirst for blood lol.

@whereismywater animals in the wild the natural wild hunt and kill each other this has been going on as long as theres been life its the natural order that animals higher on the food chain eat those below just eating plants isnt natural unless your a herbivore not only that but protein from non animal sources is notorious for its very low quality protein if people never ate meat none of us would be her on youtube people were hunters before we were anything else your veganism is a product of
l3054 2 weeks ago
@l3054 Plant protein is the best type of protein. Protein from meat is harder to digest and is bad for you. Believe what you want meat causes cancer its a proven fact.
MLGPeppy 6 days ago
@MLGPeppy if your only talking about eating lots of red meat it can but too much of anything is bad for you plant protein is an inferior source of protein this is scientific fact eating only or mostly meat is bad for you but your being biased protein from meat has more bcaas and is easier to digest as far as protein is concerned people didnt survive for millions of years on berrys and plant foods we would be extinct right now if that was tried you beleive what you want but people are naturally

@MLGPeppy i believe ill take my chances, seriously go get you a nice med-rare steak, bake a potato and drink a beer. and iff you dont mean more for us. you can go ahead and eat your plants. protein is protein ill eat meat and plenty of it while you slowly starve your self to death.

l3054 2 weeks ago
@whereismywater dude, every heard of the food chain? animals and mammals that eat each other? we are part of that, we have the "right" to hunt them, you're an idiot for thinking only humans can not hunt animals or mammals, we are part of nature! you obviously know nothing.

12 inches of penetration?
First, you're using target points and shooting into the flat side of the bale so the arrow can easily slide between the rolled layers of hay. If I do that with my hunting bow, I loose arrows inside the bale.
Try a real hunting broadhead and shoot into the round side of the bale. You'll be lucky to get 3 inches of penetration.

Am I to understand that you can kill a deer in a heartbeat with this?
plopnod 1 month ago
@plopnod in a HEARTBEAT!! thats the beat of a heart there, just one heartbeat, dead. IN A HEARTBEAT ;)
BobbyHodgeHD 1 month ago
@BobbyHodgeHD Heartbeat you say..hmm dead eh? Let me think here. So like dead in a heartbeat. Interesting. One might say that this is a quick way to die, being that a heartbeat can be quick.'less of course we're talking about a lungfish in a period of suspended animation. This of course was not indicated, leaving me to assume that we're talking about a human heart beat,'less of course we're talking about a Buddhist Monk during meditation,in which case the heartbeat can be slowed down significantly
plopnod 1 month ago

It's a shame you showed this with a field point on the arrow.
It'd have been good to see it with a broadhead for a couple of reasons:
1> To see how it coped with a broadhead (would it need to be loaded nock first or will some broadheads pass the ring?)
2> So the internet's resident idiots didn't think it was normal or smart to hunt with field points and not broadheads.
That said, nice video and nice technique.

"i'm going to be in the woods in a survival situation. i won't have a gun, but i will have a sling shot with me...and extra tubing...and a key ring... and arrows with fletching..." what is the point in this information. neat, but useless.
jonchristianify 1 month ago
@jonchristianify Well, you might have your slingshot in your trail bag. Arrows can be easily constructed in the bush.
gengrecknuts 1 month ago
@jonchristianify and you don't necessarily need a key ring, a stick lashed across the slingshot would work in a pinch. The arrow just needs something to rest on.
gengrecknuts 1 month ago
What a Pile of BullSh#t , go get a hunting licence and deer tag.
Lets see you take a live deer down with that thing, let alone get close enough to do it.
zales1137 1 month ago
@zales1137 I think I will trust the former srt sniper on this one, thatd be dave.
shadowfox089 1 month ago
@zales1137 A slingshot works on the exact same principle as a bow, yet is able to provide more tension. This will work, if you can figure out how to put it together. You should be able to get that close to a deer if you are down wind.
Codex1 1 month ago
@zales1137 I've heard of people bagging deer with 20lb draw survival bows by getting in closer than 10 yards. If you know what you are doing (i do not) you CAN get that close to a deer. I have no doubt Dave could do it.
gengrecknuts 1 month ago
It's a cheap and reliable sling shot too :) I got mine at Canadian Tire for under $20 CAD. I'm a terrible shot though :( even though I follow the instructions on the back of the packaging. if anyone has any tips please shoot me a reply or message i cant even hit a 1 1/2 inch steel pipe from 5 feet away

that would not kill a deer
martynhindle 2 months ago
@martynhindle Only in the hands of a trained hunter will it kill its intended prey.
djx74 2 months ago
The solution begins at home, with your own attitude. If you don't care that another creature has to die unnecessarily because of you, then you're obviously not going to care if a person that you've never met in a different country is dying also because of your diet choice.
whereismywater 2 months ago
UN did not invent the facts they merely bend to surmountable evidence. human activity causes heating of the atmosphere. 1 animal consumer produces 7x more green house gases then Vegan. Watch your carbon print. Factory animals, particularly meat and dairy products, accounts for 70% of global freshwater consumption, 38% of the total land use and 19% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. .
