buy an arduino starter kit! great pace to start and you can build some really cool stuff.

haha that's what I ended up doing! Within the first week, I coded a digital clock with an AM/PM dot and time colon on a 4 digit 7-segment LED. Now I just need to find the time to calibrate the second.
