Don't sell it. Get yourself a manual, study it and you will find out that the MRS-1266 is a very powerful recorder that can make very high quality sounding recordings.
I was frustrated with it at first too, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never turn the recorder off! The MRS-1266 is hidden gem in the ruff.
So this was the last to be built in Japan? It is built like a tank! I was going to upgrade my 1608 to the Tascam 2488Neo thiking it would be much btter.
You mentioned not being able to sample your voice or a piano, is it possible to record entire tracks, like my band guitar, bass guitar, piano, elect drums..?
being someone who uses the MRS 1608 Zoom alot I'm impressed with how informative that was...anyone who uses that unit knows some of the difficulties that come with using it so I gotta say this is a great tutorial
great demo, when i use pads on 1608 theres fuzz interference, even on the playback mode, any solutions/ideas greatly appreciated, tried different cables but no change!
hey that was pretty cool dude, but a little too complicated for me lol! anyway i have the same machine and i wish someone would write a book on how to program that drum machine. supposedly you can program whole rhythm songs with it, but i can't figure it out. so i just play a rhythm pattern adjust the tempo and lay down some guitar and bass tracks to it. it sounds ok but the same drum pattern gets boring in a hurry. anyway nice video :oP
You can rip samples from any song, it just has to be layed on a track before you can take it as a sample though. ANYTHING that is on a track can be lifted as a sample. The Zoom really only samples small drum samples and such well, you cant lift anything to long as the total pad sampler has a 22 second limit, that means if you wanna sample a 22 second phrase your only going to be able to have that one sample to work with on the pad sampler. Otherwise its great!!
Ne way you could make one about extrracting a intrumental from a cd into zoom so u can record a track would really help me out i just got this havent used it yet seems like u could help me thnx bro keep it up god blesss

How to play your samples Like the Mpc ?
I mean the samples cuts each other while playing not to play each other when I hit the pad twice ?
in the manual there is somthing called group pads but I never understand how it works
this is the only point that makes me hate my Zoom mrs so if you help me I will be really really thankfull :)

Yes, you can change the speed of a sample. This will however also change the pitch.

is this similar to the mrs 1266?
jessyjaimez197666 2 years ago
Yes, It is the successor model to the 1266. Most of what you can do on the 1608 you can do on the 1266..Have a good one.
