It's fine to use a divider like this, its a good brace. If you wanted to get real picky, you could examine what kind of standing waves can develop in a 1.5ft dimension (753.3hz) vs a 3ft dimension (376.7hz). Both are above what you're producing so thats fine. But the delay time - 13ms vs 26ms. 26ms starts to get into the range of audible delay, so smaller dimensons are actually cleaner. Anyway its always good to line the walls with polyfill to reduce internal reflections. And more bracing!

Maybe bracing would've been better then a full on divider? Granted a box needs to be strong and braced, but I've always been told that having a divider might make a sort of "echoing" effect.

actually this is a completely Sealed Box. There are no ports. those holes in the side of the box are where the wires run to the external wiring connectors. check out 4:21
