  • Good job I just used s hobo tin stove to run mine in snow it started to boil the fuel the fuel was fire pot and afterward it left alot of impurities that went burnt slash evaporated

  • great vid like the candle idea. keep up the great vids

  • very nice

Like can windscreen and candle idea. Use a pot lid or foil it'll help make ur boil time faster.

  • I used my Trangia Spirit in -15F without much trouble. I simply needed to heat the exterior with a match for a few seconds.

  • i like the idea of the candle, i think it woudl be good in all weathers, it must make it use a lot of fuel though

  • what kind of fuel?

  • Fahrenheit

It also turns out that heating the bottom of the stove with a candle is not needed. One can simply pour a little alcohol into the insulation around the stove and light that to heat it up. Therefore, one can seal the bottom of the outer can and put a little insulation in the bottom under the stove insert.

  • uhmmm, 6 degrees fahrenheit or celsius?

  • Great concept!

I used my alcohol stove at 25 deg. F last week and the boil time sucked. I really like your bottom heating method.

  • How long did it take for the water to boil? It looks like you have a working idea. Nice job.

  • One thing i would not put alcohol in stove with that candle buring under it or beside it. Put stove to one side full stove first then light candle.
