Joint......you are a complete and total idiot. Did you even watch the movie? Eastwood was called a coward after shooting the owner, and THATS why it is in the tag. I mean seriously....think before typing kiddo.

this is a great movie. best western I've ever seen and that's a lot. The Alberta foothills in western Canada are spectacular, same place where Open Range was shot with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall. If you like this, you'll like that one too, although this one is a little better.

I love the idea of the old, or broken-down, or down and out coming back for one final shining moment. The older you get, the more you can empathize with them.

Yeah Sergio Leone is class, Sam Peckinpah is a genius, but the first one did a ripoff (Fistful of Dollars) and some movies that were cool but painfully shallow/unrealistic, and the other one's were too deep to call them "just" westerns.

Genre defining western. Clint Eastwood is a great writer, actor and director. Only one director made a better western than Clint, and that's Sam Peckinpah. Nothing beats The Wild Bunch.
Wild Bunch is amazing -yes. I'd also put Sergio Leone in this class of great directors "once upon a time in the west" is awesome, as is the man with no name trilogy.
This and the following scenes, which we can sum up under "William Bunny drunk shootout"^^, are some of the scariest scenes I've seen in a movie. Bill Munny is one creepy bastard.
