it mattered to me when mmo's started to take away the hardcore elements of the genre itself for more casual, streamlined bullshit that anyone with a 2nd grade education could min/max with and not be terrible.

the rise of casual gaming also threatens the games studios make, because now the potential for making mass bank on shitty games like any Wii title with a gimmick, is more profitable then making an actual work of art with unique and entralling gameplay.

It's just dumbing down gaming.
