Hirsohima and Nagasaki were necessary to end a conflict that had already taken 70 million lives. An invasion of the island would have left nearly a million allied troops dead or wounded, numbers not necessary to risk. And your logic about Osama makes no sense, seeing as he declared war on us. Japan declared war on the United States, and we ended the war by forcing their hand with the introduction of a weapon they couldn't handle.

It depends, it can matter a great deal. The message a murder sends into the world can be as important as the murder itself.
That said I do agree this is impossible to quantify and probably shouldn't weigh in the punishment.
Hate-crime laws may have been necessary in the period after the civil rights movement but now have become so vague they have lost most if not all of their meaning.

I have read the laws on it. It is basically a motive crime. the only difference from me committing murder and hate crime murder is what I thought about the victim before I killed him. That should make no difference. That is a component to MURDER which is a crime. So it is already covered. It is just an attempt to try to control what people say. We are turning into a nation which wants to be sensitive. If someone breathes on me in 30 years, I could probably have them put away for bio-assault!

My point is that there seems to be a different number each year. I think the numbers grows so that there is a 1 upmanship. Same with the middle passage numbers. I think people should be honest and simply state, an unaccounted for number of jews and minorities were killed by Hitler. The number of jews before and after Hitler's reign doesnt add up with the number killed. If there was X before Hitler and Y after hitler, the number killed should be the difference. It is not.

Since the holocaust there have been over 500 films about the historic even. With all do respect, I think the chance that human kind will ever forget abouth this even it extremely small. Hirsohima and Nagasaki were necessary to end a conflict that had already taken 70 million lives. An invasion of the island would have left nearly a million allied troops dead or wounded, numbers not necessary to risk. And your logic about Osama makes no sense, seeing as he declared war on us. Japan declared war on the United States, and we ended the war by forcing their hand with the introduction of a weapon they couldn't handle.

Great point. There are plenty of horrible events but none get so much attention as the Jewish holocaust.

They declared war on Germany in 1933 and subsequently were imprisoned. There have been many genocides in this century but none gets so much attention as this one.
This holocaust has ended up costing Palestinians their land.
The irony of all this, is that it was Jewish bankers who kept financing HItler even after they knew what he was doing.

Having a museum like this invites this behavior. Having a security guard in a museum???? Having a "higher grade of security" as was stated invites these confrontations.
