W went to school in miami during the 80's and this show was on tv, I was a big fan then and I am even a bigger fan now, it takes to me a time when the world was safe and fun to be part of, it holds so many fond memory very close to my heart, no wonder it is on the top ten best tv sitcom ever.

On the pilot episode of "The Golden Girls", there was supposed to be a gay housekeeper named "Coco". But he was dropped after the pilot, and was replaced by Sophia(Estelle Getty). And it was a good thing that McClanahan and White switched roles since they DID play similar roles to each other in the past(beside "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", Betty White did "Mama's Family", which she was also man-hungry, but THIS character was nasty as well).

Well, Betty played Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore show which was like the character of Blanche. Rue played Vivian on Maude, also a character like Blanche, but a little naive like Rose.

I will have to get this DVD... I have all 7 season DVDs and I have loved this since I was 14 years old when Camping sucked.. A person that stayed next to us had cable and she intoduced me to this show... even though she passed away 10 years ago, My friendship with her lives through this show...
