  • man boxer apm is slow as fuck

  • @luckduck32167 wats his apm?

  • nice video, but bad picture, too lightened

    Those times were Epic

  • SWEET

  • There was no micro in thsi video. Nothing insane. That is how normal looks at that level of play.

  • first

  • amazing!

  • Holy shit this is hard to watch with all the movement.. Boxer is an insane microer..

  • what does vod stand for?

  • @TheSweeJay video of day or video on demand

  • they must be good at fingering a girl then

  • @VeangenceUser I don't have crazy micro like this in Starcraft, but as a metal guitarist I can definitely say that the dexterity goes a long way in pleasuring women.

  • i hope they dont get carpal tunnel, that looks likea lot of strain (

  • Why is he spazzing so much?

  • thats how you get warmed up early game for mid/late game micro

  • Oh I see. Get the fingers moving.

  • lol korea

  • does anyone know which match it was where he used "the lockdown"

  • wtf over 120moves per minute just with scv :S

  • well can u blame him he has A.D.D :P

  • OMG! one click isn´t enought??

  • Boxer should be checked for Millenium Puzzles and ghosts of Egyptian Pharoahs inhabiting his body.

  • hahahaha!!

    true, true...

    he;s totally awesome!

  • Omg that was sick

    ....

    The tank scan

  • the tank scan is WHAT YOU DO. If you don't do it you're a noob. so it's nothing special about it.

  • boxer won cause his sudden economic advantage (3 expos at once??) gained him an edge in tanks allowing him to just steamroll midas straight back into his base.

  • You fucking motherfucker, i said i AM corean you fucker. "and im pritty sure your not korean too,"? OMFG you can't even read english, can you? Bitch!

  • corean is not english nor korean

  • What? We had a major fight, but the opponent of mine deleted the id

  • i think this guy just got beat by a korean sc player. figures his name was xrage666. hes ragingl ike the devil.

  • Comment removed

  • Your name explains why you are so hostile for no reason.

    RAGE.

    Rage quit please.

    And have some logic.

  • Well done fucktard, you just proved yourself as an asshole and a person with flawed logic.

    Just shut the fuck up.

No one likes your arrogant and ignorant personality anyways.

    You fucking retard.

PS) Your grammar and spelling makes you even harder to take seriously. :)

  • Can you explain why you are being so hostile?

And how can road killed monkeys have sex?

Are you saying dead organisms and animals can have sex?

Your logic is flawed and can be alluded to a piece of shit.

Go be an asshole somewhere else, fucking retard.

  • Calm down.

  • I am Corean, too. I am not kidding. I love Corea(Korea) and i don't know why i hate china and japan. i just do.

  • That's how to be good at loosin man..

Watching this vod learns you how to be good at terran.

  • Now what exactly is the "Boxer factor" ... ?

  • The Boxer factor is Boxer himself. He is talking about how every good defense can keep away most everyone, but Boxer can always find a way around it.

  • The "unneeded" movements are to keep your hands warmed up and ready for when the game progresses and requires you to play faster and control more units. Go google Micro. -.-

  • I just wondered about that, now I am smarter than before, thanks ... ^^

  • @KnaiQQ micro just means control of individual units. the unneeded hand movement doenst mean micro, your right about it being for warming up though.

  • @Zonde32 Yea I have seen people with 100APM out-micro people with like 200+ APM. Honestly it comes down to unit composition and quantity which plays the biggest factor in a fight, but micro is crucial to secure victory.

  • @yue12321 at a higher level of gaming

  • takes them TWO minutes to scout with your worker to find out and your advantage is gone.

plus they don't use customized keyboard, trying to master all three hot keys while knowing all special attributes and can manipulate combination skills perfectly is impossible at their gaming level.

please learn some more before pretend knowing these things.

  • i play BFME2 ROTWK it has 7 factions and i know all hotkeys, and i believe its possible to master the 3 factions.

  • Korean. KOREAN. WITH A DAMN K. I mean cmon! I hate it when people point out small mistakes, but cmon!

  • Sorry, im from argentina... in spanish "Korea" is "Corea".

  • But you're speaking in English, thus rendering your argument invalid.

  • Ok, sorry about my ignorance on english. i didnt know Corea in english was Korea.

  • I don't see a reason to be sorry.

It's just that spelling with the "K" is more popular, guess it offends some people.

There is NO correct spelling! Only correct spelling is in the Korean language.

So it shouldn't really matter how you spell it regionally.

  • uhh technically Corea is the correct spelling in alphabet it was used in Olympics and everywhere until Japan occupied Corea for 36 yeras or so and they didnt want corea (a colony of theirs at the time) to march out before them...so they change it to Korea. and then..it became more prevalent so I guess we decided to stick with K. But nothing wrong with spelling with C. so dont place random blame on a guy from Argentina who didnt know?

On ur first comment was it necessary to call Corean freaks?

  • That wasn't me...

I just stated that it didn't really matter what the spelling is (in my opinion).

  • Fucking fail.

I'm Korean, and I am 100% sure it is Corea (that is the real correct spelling.)

Japan changed it to Korea (in their occupancy of Corea many years ago) because they didn't want Corea to march out before them at the Olympics.

  • hello. this is south korean(or Corean u saying) speaking here. i couldnt understand ur english at all. and

  • True story. Korea used to be spelled Corea. But Japan forced it themselves for Korea to be recognized as Corea so Japan can be before Korea.

  • thats fucked up.

  • @krnskiller:

That's wrong. Both spellings (with a "K" and with a "C") were both used and created by the Europeans prior to Japan's having any influence over how European countries might interact with Korea. European people designed their own spelling of the name of each East Asian country so that the spelling would be less obtrusive in their native language. Japan for example is written like "Japon" in French and "Giappone" in Italian. Besides, Japanese people don't call Korea, Korea or Corea...

  • @Yamasakiray1 it was named Korea with K because it comes after J in the alphabet... so that Japan comes first in an alphabetical order... that's what a korean friend told me.

  • @wooboy11 Well, since I have no definite proof that I am right and you are wrong, I won't argue against that, but think of it this way. Some Korean/Corean people dislike Japanese people, or Japan as a nation, therefore, I think that they would over exaggerate and say bad things about Japan on purpose. Nations tend to change history so it makes them seem good and others bad.For example, to Japanese people, events such as the Rape of Nanking never happened even though it obviously did. Understand?

  • Let me put it his way mate, I'm a D- level player in Iccup. When I go to lans, people are amazed by my skill at starcraft. Every level you go up in Iccup takes infinate amounts more of skill. A+ Iccup players are not good enough to go pro like these guys are. Starcraft is the most difficult game to master.

  • @extracheez1 agree , from d- d+ , many people see it as so MINOR, wrong! worst, U may even take 3-4 months to even climb up that MINOR rank in ICCUP, why? bcuz its HARD

  • @extracheez1 actually, most pro gamers are about A+

  • @gnsexe no they are way above A+

  • oh my god.

  • it's shift-click dude. Sucks that most people don't know about it.

Shift-clicking is one of the main things that pros do to move their game faster. What happens when you shift-click is that as soon as a unit is done doing something, it instantly starts doing whatever the next thing you told it to do is without you commanding it to. It's really useful.

  • lol are you for real?

  • Chester, in the beginning Boxer apm-spammed to get his hands warmed up for late game (if they get too cold they get stiff), and in the end he did it because he had to - controlling an entire base plus moving around units requires fast mouse speed.

  • i figured it out.. you place the building and then shift +click the minerals before the SCV starts working

  • build a depot, and shiftclick minerals

  • at 2:40 when the scv is finished buildig the supply depot it just starts mining straight away.. how did he do that?

  • You obviously didn't see the bit I was talking about. Anyway I know how to do it now. It's shift click.

  • you can see his APM is much clower than before.... due to lack of finger exercise i think ( air force gets the best out of him). one thing hasnt faded from him- thats his brilliant use of units. good use of units > higher APMs. hes fiunishing his time in the air force so we should see a lot more of the good old boxer when he gets full steam ahead

  • lol u have no idea this video was taken before he went to air force

  • Holy shit, lol, hes screwing around in the base with vultures like hell.

  • no u

  • I thought he is faster. ;o Made tank without hotkey. But he IS good player.

  • racism = retarded

  • And gg by Boxer btw. Amazing plays, his Vulture micro is outstanding here.

  • I call it unbelievable.

  • I can't believe people are shocked Boxer uses directional buttons to move the screen...that's what you should be doing! "Moving" it by making it slide with a mouse is way too sensitive to accurately land on the spot you wanted, not to mention keyboard moving will allow a free mouse movement.

  • That WAS good.

  • My goood Boxer playing is so incredibly elegant. He does more with few units than others with a massive army.

I knew it but I'm still shocked!

  • crazy reflexes

  • build order 2 fac... hmm.. dunno why I always go 1 fac, exp. Greedy? ;D

  • wow, boxer really does use the keyboard to move the screen

  • In the first part BoxeR lost his vultures from SCV's that's very strange not fast enought or what? The tanks weren't a problem!

  • omfg he is so good with the vultures against the tanks wow

  • Holy crap, amazing.

  • between 2:24 - 2:38, I have a question.

Focus on the SCV that is building the supply depot. As I watched, I see him click the scv and click the supply depot several times. However after the supply is done, how did the SCV know what do after? ** Did he press build supply depot, shift right click mineral?

  • shift+build supply depot+ righy click mineral .

  • thats too obvious

  • @x3n0g3ai2s Yes he used shift to issue commands i guess

  • gg no re

  • why isnt green buildin units, couldnt red of rush and won?

  • if you spend the econ on wraiths alone, you might as well gg yourself as soon as the first one pops out. goliaths, scourges, and goons all rape through them. wraiths really are only dangerous in the harass phase, or as a surprise late game. their cloaking ability really does lose its advantage as soon as the opponent has a scanner/obs up. why spend the money on wraiths when there are much better options?

  • Wraiths' instant attack, with just one damage short of mutas, shouldn't be underestimated. The bigger the forces are, the bigger the advantage for instant attacks. Mass mass wraiths with some tank to cover can work really well TvT actually.

  • boxer ftw

  • no wonder he is so good...he is in control of everything...

  • god damn i just still can't believe their playing speed... unbelievable

  • very nice game and well played by box :) he is the king!

  • anyone can have a high apm all you have to do is spam. hotkey CC Nexus or Hatch to 1 and hold in the num 1 your apm goes to like 099 in 10 sec they do all the spamming so there hands stay warm when micro is needed and to keep reaction time up

  • wraiths are ownage dude. If you've ever played TvT you'd realise how essential they are.

  • not really. they have small damage vs tech units. easily get scanned too. even pros only make 1 or 2 in the beginning and mass in the late game if the opponent mass cruisers. if you can micro it like mutas or corsairs, it will be useful. valkyrie already sucks because of bugs. can't shoot if the map is almost max.

  • They're good against other air, and they cloak, very useful against someone who doesnt have detectors

  • i still havent seen anyone win with wraiths. they compress so its very easy to get killed by mutas or corsairs. zerg can send all overlords with queens to kill it, toss can use detectors, terrans can scan. so pretty much useless unless they are fighting in space.

  • watch nada and oov

  • Cloaked wraiths r good againt mass carriers as seen in boxers blind spot.

  • Boxer isn't the fastest when it comes to APM believe me. NaDa is much faster, but again, Nazgul a few years ago had one of the slowest APMs for protoss and he won matches just fine. So it's all about play style.

  • correct, it's called Requiem

  • What was the second map called?

    pppppp

  • i think the map for the second game is Requiem, but i could be wrong

  • Good APM isnt Fast APM,

It's the kind of APM that helps you to win games

  • Boxer's APM is around 250 but he probably does have the fastest mouse hand.

  • does pressing return cargo actully help?

  • its just the same as gather but it directly returns the mineral it has to the cc so it means less waste of time

  • SC is my favorite PC game of all time and the best in it's genre. However, I would hope that SC2 will emphasize APM less and implement some new control systems so that it's possible to control your army well without having to practice 10 hours a day improving APM. I hate people bragging about APM, it just seems sad to me -- it's like Michael Jordan bragging about his heart rate.

  • Just like any other game, you have to practice to get better. Obviously if they made it easy for you to control your units and everything was automated, what's the point? Games like SC need skill for that same reason. APM is just a factor in that skill. There's also reflexes for micro, strategy for macro and a lot of mental strategy when facing different opponents.

  • If there is one thing I have against SC it's the emphasis on REAL TIME not STRATEGY. A true general should not have to micromanage every single individual troop in a good strategy game, real-time or otherwise. I've noticed that Asian gamers like the Koreans and Japanese are more attracted to what I like to call "magic hands" type skill activities. I'm far more interested in "magic plans." Field commanders in real wars don't win battles with actions per minute!

  • I'd say what make Starcraft exciting is the combination of micro and macro. It's hard to win a game without both.

At any rate, Starcraft is a game, not a battle simulation.

  • And if this were a real battle that might make sense. But it's a game. So you play by the rules and mechanics of the game, which dictate that micro is crucial to success. No one's forcing you to play SC

  • It's a game. Get that one into your head, or don't bother with starcraft.

  • SC is strategy-intensive too. I'd say 40% micro 40% macro and 20% strategy. If you totally miss your opponents strategy and play into his hands then no matter how amazing macro-micro you are, it's gg for you. Besides, it's a video game that's meant to entertain the masses, not train army generals.

  • A real genius caliber commander such as Sun-Tzu wouldn't be fighting in the first place :].

  • The constant APM is so that he'll maintain his super speed when micro will be needed... high APM is in progamers of all types of RTSs, like Age of Empires and Warcraft 3 too...

  • THE EMPEROR IS BACK

  • Lol. He rallies scv's for more apm.

    Actions per minute.

The more apm, the better it looks on you.

  • Nope, that's wrong. his doing that to warm up his hands

  • yes and also cut the delay time of the scv popping out and gathering. Time is gold in this stage. also its a warm up for the later periods. Idle hands have less and i mean less micro effectivity.

  • i dont get it. why does he issue the same command like a hundred times? and why does he keep rallying scvs? someone explain?

  • 200 actions per minute isnt insane ...

    insane is more than 400+

  • i pwn boxer

  • yeah sure i pwn saviour

  • obviously i don't lol

    boxer is the maaaan

  • how do you know that you pawn boxer????

  • i don't

    he'll prolly rape me

  • people shouldn't be allowed to go so insane as to click more than two hundred times per minute in a computer game. and to think, that person probably has already made more money than I'll ever make in a whole lifetime, just playing a game that my father calls "stupid".

  • it's not hurting you is it? =) ya, so they make a lot of money. you want to make lots too? why don't you go try your luck in Korea playing starcraft then..? XD

  • omg omg omg omg, this is insane, i agree that boxer made skt1 into a terran training machine, look at midas's vulture micro at wcg 2006 lol, i like the way he call it "the boxer factor",that's awesome

  • i dont understand what you mean, whats skt1, and whats the ''boxer factor''??

  • skt1 sktelecomt1 i think

  • SKT1 is boxers team that participates in progames and is sponsored by a telecom company (if im right). Boxer Factor is the term people use to refer to the unpredictability of the events in starcraft. its just like saying the ball is round in basketball. It referred to boxer though due to his unpredictability ( and insanity i should say) in playing SC

  • too fast!

  • I've found that Boxer has excellent control over single units..

  • Boxers micro is insane, if we take his micro skill and combine it with oov macro skill then we might have yet the ultimate terran player.

  • wow tank + comsat was bueatify...

and damn how do u lay 4 mines at the same time?

  • yea that was nuts

  • not to downplay boxer, he is amazing, but when you clik a point to lay mines with multiple vults, they from a circle around that point and lay the mines apart

  • boxer = god

  • of course

  • and its Boxer first vod and not midas

  • boxer did great with tanks, comsat combination.

  • wow look at his mouse movements... my goodness!

  • vulture part was easy, it was Midas fault, never let vulture go into your base.

  • dude every time I see one of your comments its "thats bad, thats ez, he should have done this, he should have done that" let me tell you something, nothing is easy when you play against progamers, the 'vulture part' was NOT easy, it was pure micro ownage and very few people can do things like that.

  • You know what, I can easily do it, so i said vulture part should be a basic requirement

  • yeah if you could easily do that you'd never lose a Terran game, and if it was so easy to do Boxer would have done it every game and never lose, you're full of it... you wouldn't have made it work even 1 time out of 100,00 tries against Midas

  • Jon747, I bet he is just trying to piss you off. Knowing what a show off he is, he is not really good at SC. Show him whose Boss Jon747

  • ^_^

  • you got the point gunmenow... the point you're trying to get across is don't let vultures into your base...

  • vultures when i place mines, i use "i" key & "shift" to queue waypoint but it doesnt work... gee... boxer is a genius...

  • Different from how we play it in Nam... where can I get the stac
