I'm an adjuster for Allstate in San Antonio, TX and I love it. Yes, there are other options available for insurance, some cheaper, but I can tell you that no company takes care of its people, policyholders, agents, and employees alike, like Allstate. That's what insurance should do. Commercials are great, but when push comes to shove, how confident are you that a reptile or quirky waitress will be there when you need them most?
all state is my insurance company. the resean why i chose them is because you can tell that they care about the people they help. how do i know this, well cause when i commercial can make you feel emotinal or make you want to cry, you know the people behind it want to make a difference. that is what all state commercials did to me. so that is why all state is my insurance company. oh did i mention i am also canadian
This is one nice commercial. Being "poor" is so relative. For you, poor means not having a car - for some poor means not having a place to sleep, food to eat and clean water to drink. Give your best, be content and you will be on your way to happiness...
the recession made us poor, at least for me it did. And most of it all it made my degree inferior and me regret the poor decision that was attending university and getting a college education
Between this ad and the "Nothing to Fear" and "Back to Basics" ads, Allstate has jumped up to a quality level that rivals the best Geico ads, but in a different style, of course. I commend the agency that made this, and I wish that Allstate would give creative credits in the description.
so true, america has changed so much, we're not happy for what we already have, americans have become too greedy. I love the overall message that the commercial has. probably why they cut most of it out in the real tv commercial:P
I think that this is one of the best commercials I've seen in a long time. It doesn't say we still can't do great things -- what it says is that we can and have gotten through adversity.
@crystallpink Uh wow... You are so ignorant, you didn't even listen to the video. The recession has made us enjoy the simpler things, and has pushed us to reach new limits, like smarter cars that get like 50 miles to the gallon. The recession sure has made us great, and I'm proud of it.
@crystallpink If you can't deal with the commercial, why look it up, if your bad-mouthing America then why live in America, and if you this all you do in your freetime then why not take your pathetic life.
-----------------
This is a great commercial, just be happy for what you do got and not be sad about what you don't. America, as a nation, is truly great. :) I am proud to be part of this nation even if many others hate us, and were going through a rough time.
Only in the Age of Obama - the Recession that made us Great.
If it's so great why not expand the Recession even deeper? Lay off more people. Bankrupt every company. Foreclose on every home. Repossess every car, even the ones built "smarter" like the new Prius shown with recalled brake problems.
Celebrate America, a life with less!
This is repulsive and embarrassing. I will never be an Allstate customer after this.
Let's build an America of growth, and insure it with someone else.
When Allstate says "The Recession that Made Us Great," they refer to themselves, not their clients. Case in point? The fact that when you ask to be paid what your policy promises, their "good hands" turn into boxing gloves. Then their army of lawyers go to work on you until you accept their meager initial offer, even if it falls far short of what they promise when you sign up.
What a good campaign slogan for Barry Soetoro, if he runs again - "Celebrate America - A Life With Less!"

What a sad vision of America. Recession made us great? Is this the Country that went to the Moon?
What kind of business model is this? Do you want to insure bikes not cars? Want smaller, fewer homes? A shrinking market is positive? What buffoonery!
Allstate should be ashamed. I'll never consider Allstate again.
