  • Beautiful.

  • Most state hospitals take about 6 months to a year after the patients are gone to truly close facilities.

  • We have a Kirkbride building here in Columbia SC on 100 acres of land with so many buildings . its like a freakin city within a city behind a wall. They housed civil war patients there and I know when My company gets the job of demolishing those unhistoric buildings we are going to find some old historic shit.

SO I say bring im those excavators and lets start tearing up some shit cause I am ready for a treasure hunt!! BOOOYAAA

  • @johnnecron My bad

    its 1000 acres

  • Im from topeka and they are about to demolish the topeka state hospital which is also a kirkbride building

  • if u guys read the amazing book project 17 u would know that the people who stayed there were tortured as a way of "getting better" i hope thats not true because thats not even humane to torture someone with skitzo. its not there fault they see things that others dont thats not right.... its so wrong to do that .... i dont have a word for it

  • @theHOSTlover what went on behind those walls was horrible. Been there a fue days ago nice place tho.

  • Just the video of this place makes me feel uneasy

  • Great video Mike. I'm so sorry I never risked it to go in and see it for myself. I'm glad I got the shots I did tho for the book we were involved with. I'm going up today just to see it tho there's nothing left to see :(

  • What a shame it was demolished. It should have been preserved and renovated and used for something else. The building is kirkbridge design most buildings with kirkbridge design are gorges looking buildings.

  • @burntvalve86 watch the movie " session 9" and you'll kno wwhy it wasn't renovated.

  • it closed down june 24th 1992

  • wasnt closed down in 94

  • This place was beautiful... too bad thoes fuckers at avalon bay had to make it into condos ='(... DIE AVALON BAY!!!

  • heh, they did this 5 feet from my driveway :/

  • @lilshane93 Totally agree, Danvers was a one of a kind building. I certainly wouldn't want to live there, so much pain and misery committed on that land.

  • In 1993 it was still in decent shape, it could've been salvaged at this point.

  • Where did you find these clips?

  • Cool
