  • Yeah, 9.95 a month, BUT remember, the cost of the slow modem itself (300 to 2400 bps) and the fact that unless you want to risk being knocked offline by an incoming phone call, you either needed to have it's own separate phone line (which would run you about $20-30 more a month) or use it late at night/after midnight

  • Not sure what's more nostalgic: the 3 1/2" and 5 1/4" floppies, or the monstrosity of a phone at the end..

Love the double-take of 1:26...as he looks back to make sure the coast is clear - You KNOW he's gonna go pixel porning!

  • In France we had a dish like this in every home circa 80, it was called the minitel. The only thing it did was to delay the rise of internet in France.

  • I listened to The Prodigy while using Prodigy....

  • you can buy floppy disks AND ripsaws! what a great way to shop!

  • THE KIDS USE THIS?!?!?!?!!

  • You people talk about 1990 like it's the freakin' Jurassic Period. I still remember 1975 quite well.

  • @forestm281 So do I, and it sucked

  • I can't wait to get online and play boxes

  • @Deliciouspie

Look what it's doing, and not doing. A modern PC is a Ferrari towing a caravan. Windows and Mac users are accustomed to shite

Everyone knows hardware improves exponentially; not so many notice that bad, bloated software increases its system requirements exponentially too. So if you put up with that, then at best, performance can only increase linearly

You do not appreciate the supercomputer I assure you that you own

If you mean downloads are quick, they've been cut

  • @FrogJacuzzi

Damn! I was both cocky and wrong! A bad combo

The increase in performance can still be exponential, now I think about it harder. But not the doubling every two years that it's sold to us as.

  • 9.95 was worth 1000 of today's dollars in 1990.

  • @NikoNash are you stupid or something?

    this was 1990. not 1800s..........

  • @EatDeeznuts1 are you retarded ? the moon landing was fake.. i dont have a ring on.... i didnt do her in the ear...

  • @NikoNash what the fuck are you talking about?!?

  • @EatDeeznuts1 MAD! HAHAHAHAH U SO MAD BRO! U STAY MAD I KEEP COMMENTING

  • @NikoNash no really?!

    what are you talking about?

  • It's the future!

  • The depths of the internet... just a couple of keyboard taps away!!

  • Sadly, at this point Jack is no doubt buried somewhere in California. Rest In Piece Jack.

  • this was absolutely super

  • I remember watching this on TV. I am also now officially old.

  • lol, that game was just called "boxes".

  • Internet in the 1980s for 10 bucks a month?!

  • @funkyflapjacks not internet, that specifically refers to it's parts, usenet, web, etc. Prodigy had it's own services.

  • Check this...i totally found some titties

  • They nailed England.

  • How much did modems cost back then?

  • @Sepharite Pretty expensive I'd gather, computers were not cheap either, we had an NEC 386 computer with DOS and XTree gold (a pseudo operating system) that cost $2000.00

  • Where's the porn!

  • I find this hard to masturbate to.

  • Wow, ridiculousness aside, that is a fast fucking machine for 1990

  • @Delicouspie i came here to post this.

  • Totally tubular!

  • The porn! What of the porn man!?

  • calling right now

  • Whoa dude, radical!

  • Well, that's absolutely super!

  • What is this internet they speak of?

  • Wow! I totally need to get this shit!

  • My father worked for Prodigy back in the late 80s all the way to 96. Nobody believes me when I told them I had internet access back in the 80s.

  • @ShopperSnake Hmm, well Prodigy didn't have a web browseruntil 1995. It depends what you mean by internet. The web was invented in 89, so you couldn't have it before then, usenet maybe? I remember the Sid Meier's pirates game in 87 had an internet address in it, a numerical one- not sure if it was an IP address though.

  • This brings back so many memories. Thanks for uploading this.
