That powder is too deep in my opinion. Anything over the knees causes to much slow down.  I have skied in over 36" powder and have actually come to a dead stop on a black diamond down grade. Not much fun.

And why denigrate them for using "skinny" skis? First, their skis weren't that skinny. Second, skiing powder on skinny skis can be as fun as skiing it on fatties, if the ski is soft and the tip comes up. Skiing _up_ the mountain, or skiing _to_ the mountain (yes, some of us still earn our turns), on the other hand, is way more pleasurable and easier on skinny skis.

Why all the negativity about double pole plants? Okay, Parker says they're bad. So what? I've noticed that some of the best telemarkers I know, particularly ones who learned on leather boots and skinny skis, do double pole plants, and they ski wickedly well and have as much fun as anyone. So what is wrong with that?

@SuperKizHabib Double pole plants by their nature will get your upper body out of position so you can not carve the turn smoothly into the next turn. These guys are skiing awesome powder but they would ski better if they could correct this flaw. A single pole plant will ensure that your shoulders are facing downhill. HOw often do they get powder like this?

The photography was awesome and the skiers had telemark gear. Almost needed steeper shots to get up some speed, but the double pole plants were painful even after I realized they were telemarking. We have powder like that in Utah but it is gone before noon
