  • this movie is scary as shit

  • thos movie started the horror industry and killed the shower industry

  • I've watched this as a kid, and it scared the bejesus out of me. I knew that it was based on the book by Robert Bloch but I had never read it before. I'm reading it right now and it's awesome; as creepy as the movie, The only thing I don't like is the description of Norman Bates as a fat, bespectacled bookworm. Hitchcock wanted to create sympathy for the Norman character so he chose to cast Perkins for the role which is better choice. So I recommend the book for those who'd liked the movie...

  • Am I crazy for thinking Norman Bates is hot? xD

  • @Iluvcatsanddogs Am I crazy for thinking Norman Bates is hot dressed as a woman?

  • If ever checked into a motel, i would have to make sure that the owner is not a homicdal maniac other wise if i didn't, i would end like that dead woman in the shower.

  • the remake is much more better!

  • @Expectnomercy316 Sorry but, WTF!!! This movie is from 1960 it hasn't got any of the computer stuff. This movie messes with your mind, you get so trapped that you don't know what's happening arround you. And in the remake there is a crucial thing that its missing, ALFRED HITCHCOK. So if you please, shut up!

  • Great, now i am going to be obsessed to watch that movie but is it the girl who kills ppl? or some mystery dude?

  • Thank you Hitchcock for making me an obsessive movie geek.

  • Awesome job on the trailer. :)

  • A good movie scene it.

  • Based on Ed Gein .. really creepy ..

  • probably my fav movie ever!!

  • Really... one of the most evil movies ever.

  • Scary...

  • @Eagles4life221 same here... Tru Technicians

  • And i have to take a shower right now......

  • the young James best would be way better for this movie

  • U know a movie is scary as shit when theres no special effects and u still piss ur pants

  • Tech n9ne brought me here

  • even the trailer is scary... when i was watching this, i had to keep looking around making sure no-one was in the room, at one point, i felt someone tapping on my shoulder, but no one was there... im so scared

  • @alex34028 boo!

  • the film is amazing.

  • he sounds like TedBundy and looks like aswell.

  • HOW LONG IS THIS MOVIE? MIGHT WANA WATCH IT!

  • This movie started the horror and shlasher fims.

  • Just watched this. Holly crap... Best movie EVER!

  • I watched this in total darkness at 1:00 AM at night.....

    FRIGGIN' SCARY AS HELL!!

  • @XxLaUr3nZzZxX 1:00 AM .............. AM MEANS MORNING NOT NIGHT LOL

  • @SwAgGeRiFiCbRoH13184

Exactly, you fucking idiot. 1:00AM is one hour after midnight. And "night" is the term for when we humans sleep. Otherwise, night would mean 1:00PM in the afternoon. And I'm guessing, normal humans don't stay awake at 1:00 AM. So I am technically right when I call 1:00 AM "Night", because it generally is "Nightime" at that hour of the day...

  • @XxLaUr3nZzZxX Lol man that SwAg dude was desperate for likes.

  • How the hell didn't Perkins won an Oscar for this.

  • @BENNYSIEGEL90 The same way the picture, the director, the movie "Never on Sunday" and its director(Jules Dassin) didn't won an Oscar! And that's because the Academy has a quite funny sense of what cinema really is.

  • Best horror/suspense movie ever made!

  • It's 2011 and i don't know a lot about this movie, but i always thought the name "Psycho" was intriguing. Is it worth watching?

  • @Mikuru212 I fyou look at some one the other comment you'll see it is deffinately worth watching!

  • It's fantastic!

  • AmericansMakeMeSick: We're "sick" (lol), but u, my xenophobic dickwad, are "Psycho".

This landmark horror/thriller/suspense film is consistently ranked in Top 10 "American Film Institute's" (AFI) 100 Greatest Films of All-Time. So what foreign film comes close to this masterpiece?!?! I didn't think so...

  • @MiKaylea I Really Love This Work Of Yours. You Choosed A Parcel Of Norman Bates' Monologue And Composed A Sery Of Scenes That Depicted His Words. This One Of My Favorite Movies Of All Times. I Thought This Was The Original/Official Trailer Until I Read Your Comment. I'd Love To See More Of Your Work. Cordialy.

  • I liked this movie but not how I wanted : (

    in my opinion classic

  • Norman Bates is so cute - ofc. if he wasen't a psychopat. Saw this yesterday. A classic. Love it!

  • Everything was fine until i accidently paused during the picture at the end.

  • you smacked it this was brilliant !

  • "Mother wouldn't like that"

One of the best movies ever

  • Gotta pay respect to the movie that bore a HUGE inspiration to the greatest and most successful Independent film of all time: "Halloween".. thanks to Alfred Hitchcock and his masterpiece of "Psycho" oh for those who didn't know..Halloween's star Jamie Lee Curtis is the Daughter of the Mother in Psycho..just a quick fact for those who didn't know. :)

  • Classic 1960's horror

  • @MiKaylea i want to hear your opinion man, this is cool movie? i mean it's scary?

  • @TheSicdic It's a very cool movie! It's not scary compared to today's horror films of course, but for the time it was groundbreaking. And the plot is still interesting and suspenseful. Definitely give it a chance!

  • @motasdirector and dont make me start with music wtf!!! do not fuck with Berrnard score and hitchcock movie

  • Fuck Paranormal Activity

  • Brilliant!

  • Classic!

  • This is a horrible trailer because it spoils the film.

  • this film turns me on, probably because im a sadist ;p

  • @MrJohnkb How did you find the sound effects ?

  • I have been watching a lot of Alfred Hitchcock lately and I just saw psycho last night. Then on tv this morning I was watching the show psych and they were doing a whole thing on Alfred Hitchcock using different movie scenes as clues and the main thing was psycho. I was like OMG.

  • That bathroom scene. YIKES!

  • At home my shower at a glass door. In my dorm at college the showers have curtains....freakin scary stuff!

  • I applaud you on using the fade-in to Mother's skull over Norman's face at the end. :) I'm not the only one who noticed that!

  • the best horror films are from alfred hitchcock!

  • @Joshhhyyyyy this is movie legend, a horror masterpeice.

  • den haben wir im deutschunterricht mal geschaut. ich liiiebe diesen klassiker!

  • @Joshhhyyyyy You should watch the film. It's very very very good. Rockybrazil1

  • Alfie is my fav story teller of all time.......

  • Note to self: shower BEFORE watching Psycho movie.

  • Its not that scary imo, except for the shower scene and the last part. The Exorcist was scarier, hehe

  • one of the few movies that actually scares me....

  • SOOOOOO Fucking Scary Movie

  • jeffmayweather this movie was made in 70s and vince vaughns not in it

  • i am looking forward to this. i am a pretty big vince vaughn fan. when does it come out?

  • @JeffMayweather this was made in 1960 and im sure there no vince vaughn in it

  • @JeffMayweather try 1960

  • U Bunch Of Losers This Is Not Horror Movie This Is Thriller

  • @SuperNatasha13 This is a horror. Just because it's tame doesn't mean it isn't horror.

  • Watched this in my film analysis class back in high school. I was in awe through out the whole thing, especially when mrs bates reveals herself. Fucking psycho indeed genius movie

  • @MiKaylea I'm guessing @Joshhhyyyyy is a pussy, and this scared him or her.

  • Why did my lecturer link me to something like this :S

  • I'm sorry, this looks gay. How the fuck is this garbage scary? Japanese horror films decimate this shit in a heartbeat. A horror film's definition is to leave you cringing in suspense and anticipation...leaving you with your eyes open at night. This doesn't deliver. This is more like a thriller. Excuse me, IS, a thriller. Nuff said.

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick japanese horror rely on cheap effects and gore. this "gay" movie is a classic suspense movie and alfred hitchcock was a master at suspense in his movies and his television programs. and besides we all know koreans make better "scary" movies than Japs anyway. take your homophobic american hating ass out of america if you hate it so much, no one here in america is begging for you to stay, you ignorant prick.

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick Stop hating on this movie! Psycho is one of the most famous horror/suspence movies of all time! It remains at the top because of the suspence, seeing what scares you isn't what is always scary! And sometimes more realistic matters of psychological fear does more than monsters and Japanese flicks. Alfred Hitchcock and his films remain the title of classic horror, so repsect!! And if you think this movie is such bullshit, then why'd you watch the trailer?

  • @AmericansMakeMeSick totally different types of movie

  • my faverite,i can watch over and over and still haunts me,love all of hitchcock's stuff anyho but pyscho is the best

  • That guy at the end has a good evil smile.....

  • My drama teacher said that after she watched the movie she was to afraid to take a shower for about 2 weeks

  • this isnt scary.

  • @SLRRmodder it is scarry :) best horror ever! :D

  • @themalevfun LOL

  • I read the book first when I was 12 and then watched the film when I was 13 and both are still one of my favorites. Each time I watch the movie I see more detalils thn before.

  • It's 0:56 and why am I watching this..

  • isnt it fascinating how an old film like this - a classic - still gives as more thrill than most of the newer films do? what i love about psycho is that you dont know who the killer is, and you wouldnt even think that the guy who actually is the killer, really could be a that cruel person. hitchcock new what scares us. everyone could point out a killer when the person obviously is a killer, but hitchcokck new that it is more thrilling if you dont know who it is.

  • Now I'm afraid to take a shower

  • nice trailer man

  • penis

  • We all go a little crazy sometimes

  • classic

  • one of the greatest horror movies ever :) Much better than the new version...

  • It's 23:00 and why am I watching this..

  • Maybe gives a little too much away for first-time viewers, but a great trailer. Hitchcock's original trailers for this and The Birds were funny and somewhat entertaining on their own, but they don't really draw you in that well, at least for modern audiences...

  • Great work on this, this is the type of trailer this great movie deserves!

  • The music is completely out of context, it's more like a XXI hollywood film score. The music is fine, but out of context.

Great job, keep up the good work

  • 2011

  • This is not the only time ( Tony Perkins ) has done Drag. Watch the movie " Mahogany " and you will see Tony wearing a Orange wig & dress. He is the second model in a close up at the start of the film. I always thought it was a man but after taking a closer look you can see it is Tony.

  • GREAT work! :D

  • That smile at the end...honestly, that's scary. I do kind of feel sorry for Norman, though. His mom must have been awful to him, and even though she's not around, she's still dominating him.

  • this movie is really good! why the fuck did someone have to do a remake?!?!

  • @MusicLyrics512 because remkaes are just as good as the original

  • Flawless work!

  • music at 1:06?

  • that was just a woman not psycho!!

  • @HairyPotter1000 it is the original 1960 version

  • Anthony Perkins is one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaah! Ca à l'air de faire trop peur!!!

  • Briliant

  • ive been there, its in universal studios... along with 500 other places movies have been shot. go to la and take the tour.

  • Great movie, maybe the best horror.

  • Why this serial killers only murder the prettiest women?

  • I love horror movies that leave something to the imagination. What you DON'T see is sometimes much more frightening that what you DO see.

  • @mmmbad I remember the part close to the end... oh my God the big reveal had me jumping and I was watching that film during the day!

  • @mmmbad that's why paranormal activity and the blair witch project scared the shit out of me moreso than halloween or the exorcist.

  • I love the classic monsters (DRACULA,WOLFMAN etc) But thank you Mr.Hitchcock for taking the monster movies out of the cobwebbed castles and bringing it right next door! Every modern day HORROR movie takes a bow to PSYCHO...Yes even you NIGHT of the LIVING DEAD

  • The reason Norman Bates rated #3 (and Hannibal Lecter rated #1 and D vadar was #2) on the all time 'bad guy' list, is because there is a psychological element to their horror. Good horror movies, IMHO connect you intimately with the villain, they allow you to see traits which turned them to evil which are ubiquitous in mankind. I think 'bad' horror movies, just have a generic bad guy who kills for some pointless reason. Norman Bates could be your neighbor. Could Freddy or Jason be?

  • i just loved this movie!!!!! lastima que ya me habian contado el final :(

  • young anthony perkins is the best looking man ive ever seen in my whole life

  • I hated how they made two sequels and one prequel to this movie. But I like to pretend they never happened.

  • this movie did not scare me much since I was busy ogling at Anthony Perkins. He's just way too sexy to play Norman Bates.

Although the shower scene freaked me out for hours, btw.

  • Happy 112th Birthday Hitch! You're still & always will be the master of suspense!

  • another fun love and playful times movie

  • Happy birthday, Alfred Hitchcock!

  • i think what sets the mood for this movie is the music score !!!!!

  • I've seen the house and the motel at universal :)

  • 'A walk in the shadows' is a two minute tense short revolving around Harry murdering his girlfriend as she found out his dark past, little does he know she has already told others.

  • pretty good trailer for an old movie

  • Psycho is the scariest film ever made. It messes with your mind. Its also beautifully shot.

  • @71QueenBitch I agree! Yes, I've had my share of Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the other Hollywood monsters, BUT, if it wasn't for PSYCHO, I WOULD NOT BE A HORROR FAN! To paraphase Robert Bloch (the author of Psycho), "Some people think that Psycho is (ALL) about the 'shower scene'." It's NOT. In my opinion, Psycho is about someone who is suffering from 'mental instability,' and (having) such a (mental) condition IS frightening."

  • This film is not a horror or thriller. These days it is a comedy...

  • Norman bates impression >: )

  • Horror to me is when you're in a comfortable zone, then all the sudden you are taken out of that zone, and when you find out there are no rules anymore, sometimes it's too late. In many ways a killer can be looked at as a hero. Many people believe life is stalling freedom, but to face death in the face can change your life for the better. Others think that freedom, they have it, but once taken away, you realise what you take for granted. Horror teaches us more than a romance comedy ever could.

  • @Kigorusan wtf are you saying. talk english. kbye

  • Isn't the movie vacancy a remake of this?

  • Tour

  • I like this one. Don't they present this one in the Universal Studios Tout?

  • I'm so glad I didn't watch this trailer it would have ruined the film!

  • i just love black and white horror films :)

  • @Wolfquestiscool no, composers write the music for a film and hitchcock was a filmmaker. bernard herrmann wrote the score and did you know, hitchcock did not want music for the shower scene

  • epic.

  • @PinkCupcakeChristine I JUST DID THAT, HOLYSHIT. xD

  • he is not momma's boy...he is mom & boy !

  • I went on a tram tour at universal studios, nd when we went tht guy was there putting a dead body into the car at tht motel, nd then he came up nd glared at u while holding a knife.. o.o i got pics of it. pretty creepy... lol

  • Whats that mother?

  • is it just me but does he look kinda like ryan reynolds?

  • @reesee02 I am spaniard but I haven't seen "Buried". Maybe. Although Reynolds is not a pionner like Anthony Perkins ( what a pity his poor next career). UN saludo!

  • Anthony Perkins was soooo attractive!!!!

  • Is is weird that this movie didn't scare me?

  • is it weird that I found Norman Bates sort of handsome in the begginning?....nah

  • Man you're genius!

  • Is this the movie where he talks to mother but she is dead or something just want to find out never seen this before

  • Hey guys, we've made a new rock song about this great film, as well as songs about other awesome films such as The Wicker Man and The Departed. Please take some time to listen to some of our stuff :)

  • norman bates reminds me of one guy in my class. creepy :D

  • @annilovesu ohh shit thtas creppy

  • Never understood why some people I know considered Hitchcock's movies scary. In my opinion there are too many mistakes in details in Psycho that could have be avoided even back in those days.

    However, no offend guys.

  • I wish they would've released it in Techni-color when they had a chance! But Norman Bates was pretty handsome...lol
