This teacher was sorry alright, not for what she did and said but sorry for getting caught. I truly believe most teachers are great and have children's interest at heart (I know some of these hard working teachers) however, some get in and use the union as a Kevlar vest so they can do nearly anything (as this teacher said) and nothing will happen. She was suspended and won't get a pay increase but if I ever said that and my employer saw it, I'd be fired. It's called being professional.
Alissa Ploshnick -- a Passaic, New Jersey special education "teacher" -- was suspended for 9 days and will be docked a pay raise for GETTING CAUGHT ON TAPE saying what she probably says (and most definitely thinks) everyday.
This "teacher" should've been fired for many reasons. The ease with which she dropped the n-word was reason enough! Hello? And who says "schwing" anymore??? I mean did she graduate from Wayne's World Institute of Higher Learning??? Uh, yeah...
ps- O'Keefe, Giles and Adeleye ARE the new breed of investigative journalists. Let's hope they keep firing away!
A disgusting but nevertheless interesting fact (to some) is the fact that the very first NJEA convention was moved from Atlantic City, NJ to Tijuana, Mexico...because Dem union hacks discovered they could ALL FIT in the front row...at The Donkey Show.
- Poor behavior and misconduct by professionals, especially government employees, should not be tolerated! I think most teachers are doing a great job, but maybe teachers need to develop core values and a code of conduct because they are entrusted with the care of our children and when they misbehave they set a bad example that potentially harms our children like these teachers in New Jersey…
It looks as if though they are willing to just throw Alissa Ploshnick under the bus, rather than address the real issue. Who is the teacher that called the child the N-word? Why are they still teaching in that school or any other school? What was the punishment dealt out to said teacher, and what was the process that concluded that calling a child the N-word, constituted a mere demotion?
If it was just a case of a teacher gone rouge, then explain the phone conversation with the assistant superintendant and his willingness to cover up the offense. And has this ever happened at any other schools? Alissa revealed the ugly truth that may run widespread through their system, they choose to "sacrifice" her and ignore the real issue. Do they think that people are just that stupid, these are our children!

90,000 a year?! WTF? I think the 'teachers are underpaid" belief is a freaking sack of crap.

The NEA and the DNC should just merge conferences/conventions.
Education Department needs to be eliminated ASAP. Its not fixable.
