On a serious note if our sun had a companion star of any size orbiting at any distance I think we would know about it. On a serious note if our sun had a companion star of any size orbiting at any distance I think we would know about it. A basis knowledge of how gravity and planetary orbits work will show you that this is impossible. We would be in a vastly different orbit. And if there was a planet speeding towards us we would again know we would've seen it in the night sky as a new apparent star, not to mention gravitational effects brought about by a new planetary body in the solar system disrupting orbits.
