NWA was more athletic, traditional. Plus think of it this way, WWF on TBS was like WWF doing a Raw from the TNA Impact Zone with only WWF wrestlers. I'd be annoyed if I was a TNA fan.

Vince failed to do this and instead featured reruns of matches already shown on USA. Ted sued Vince after this to get him off the air but instead Vince sold GCW to Jim Crockett for a million dollars. he used that million to bankroll Wrestlemania I. And the rest as they say is history.

That's not what happened. Vince bought controlling interest of Georgia Championship wrestling with the help of the Brisco brothers. When he purchased G.C.W. he got controll of the time-slot. He closed down G.C.W. and put his own show on TBS.
I think it was USA network that put the kyboch on the TBS takeover by Mcmahon, so Mcmahon leased the time slot back to the NWA (crocket) USA was the number one network on basic cable, so mcmahon didnt want to lose that channel. USA's main competition was TNT and TBS so USA said no.
mcmahon wasn't even on usa. that wasn't until the raw deal in 1993. mcmahon chose to sell the tbs time slot to jim crockett to fund wrestlemania 1 until that event drew him money.
i might add that on Wiki they have all the hight spots listed for the Tuesday nght Titans show. God it was one of the funniest interview shows on cable. I hated when WWE moved to mondays.

vince bought georgia championship wrestling from the shareholders of GCW, Inc. Ted was fine with this as long as the WWF produced a studio program from the WTBS studios in Atlanta. Vince failed to do this and instead featured reruns of matches already shown on USA. Ted sued Vince after this to get him off the air but instead Vince sold GCW to Jim Crockett for a million dollars. he used that million to bankroll Wrestlemania I. And the rest as they say is history.

That's not what happened. Vince bought controlling interest of Georgia Championship wrestling with the help of the Brisco brothers. When he purchased G.C.W. he got controll of the time-slot. He closed down G.C.W. and put his own show on TBS.
Not even a year later he sold the time to J.C.P.

I think it was USA network that put the kyboch on the TBS takeover by Mcmahon, so Mcmahon leased the time slot back to the NWA (crocket) USA was the number one network on basic cable, so mcmahon didnt want to lose that channel. USA's main competition was TNT and TBS so USA said no.

I believe that the Primetime Wrestling of USA from 1985 to 1993 is the one I am talking about with Gorilla who replaced other announcers. And finally All american wrestling from 1983 to 1994 which was their (wwf not orcourse the older georgia champioinship wrestling on TBS) first foray into cable wrestling.

I think hurricane helms has learned more than just to do highspots which will make him even better. when he was a heel,he was alot better at being agressive and keeping a match on the mat. Now that he is back he can concentrate on that and adding in a moonsault,bodypress or shinning wizard when the time is right.Pretty good win against mvp who is much bigger. shows the lighter guys can go pretty good, but i hope they bring back the cruiserweight division and title. written right it can be great.
