@nayrniak Oh that Nevermind album of theirs! I hear that word muttered through the winds on these terrible days of modern society all too little!!! Does the thing still exist as it once did...?
dude you nailed it with the songs...perfect surf, alt rock rocker... im a proud owner of a Jazzmaster MIJ candy apple red matching headstock...i love these guitars...this one looks meaner
@souljubilant12 hey men, is this guitar good for playing indie rock, you know like arctic monkeys or strokes, you know this kind of music, i'm looking for a guitar for ages! and i think this is the right one, hope your response mate, cheers
@ElBarto1996vengador you can play indie rock on anything fender makes if you can play indie rock. indie rock isnt like metal or jazz where you need a specific kind of guitar you can play whatever you want
Cool concept for a jazzmaster. I don't like the bridge bucker - but that could easily be swapped out, I suppose, along with a better bridge. But otherwise, looks hot - and I dig the streamlined controls. (Where are these made, btw?)
@crybaby87Crosby Sadly this is true. It's easily remedied though. You can just buy a Modified Mustang bridge from Warmoth to replace it. If you're willing to shell out even more, there are Mastery Bridges. Quite expensive though. Replacing it should remedy all issues. You could do it yourself or get your local luthier to do it. I recently got this guitar for Christmas and besides the shitty stock Jazzy bridge, I think it's an excellent guitar.
@C4LXD The bridge humbucker in this Jazzmaster will be good for grunge, but I guess Jaguar will sound a bit more aggressive. It doesn't have a whammy bar, though.
I want to play Sonic Youth, Dinosaur jr., Sebadoh, etc. so, is which guitar is better for those types of bands? This or the classic player Jazzmaster?
this is the video that convinced me to get this guitar! i have my jazzmaster in the sunburst, and i have to say, the humbucker is AMAZING in this guitar :D
This is terrible! Like two weeks ago I made a surf version of Lounge Act without seeing this video! And I played it twice with my band already. It sounds basically the same as this. Damn you Andy! :D
@BromptonCocktail12 Tortoise shell? Like on a MIM jazzmaster? It'd have to be custom made, because the hardware set up on the blacktop is different than any other jazzmaster pickguard
I've been kind of thinking about picking up the Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster. From all the vids I've seen I like the tone and style of it more surprisingly enough. Have any of you guys over at PGS tried one of those out at all?
I was looking for a comparison between models of Jazzmaster, Blacktop, Classic Special, J Macis, Lee Ranaldo...., with the same amp and effects to feel the timbre/tone among them and decide which one to buy, but I could not find.
So, a suggestion to you guys. Videos with few seconds for wich one of them (And with Les Paul, Tele.. so far). It would be very helpful.
Nice playing. I had the new Strat for four days, took it back and brought home this jewel today. I am sooo pleased! What a great guitar. Ilike the sound and action much better than the Strat I had.
I finally played one of these yesterday. Huge letdown. Did ya'll have to do a major setup on it or something? I must say it had a great unplugged tone but no matter what I couldn't get it in tune...with a tuner!
@orangesv650 I now own one of these, and I must say, I very much agree with you. I bought mine from guitar center( I know it's the Walmart of the guitar world) and it had absolutely the worst set up of guitar I played, and i could not get it in tune to save my life, though I liked the tone so I went for it. When I took it home, I replaced the strings with DR Pure blues 10 gauge, and reworked the bridge and now it is a surprisingly good guitar. I think maybe the bridge should be replaced.
Sounds awesome , and the one in sunburst finish looks really badass :D I'm looking for a backup guitar that is slightly different to my main guitar ( Fender Strat Deluxe Players Model With Maple Neck and 3 tone sunburst finish) and this looks like winner :)
is there every any problems that people run in with this bridge system? I really love the love and sound of jazz masters but i feel like the bridge system might be prone to breaking. but i dont know
I've been wanting a Tele for a long time, but hearing more and more Jazzmasters makes me rethink that... there's just something about them that's just SO cool!
What do you think would be better for that Nirvana kind of sound, the blacktop Jazzmaster or the blacktop Jaguar? Im thinking of picking one of these up but Im not sure which one yet, having a tremolo on the Jazzmaster is a plus.
Lounge Act!!!!:)..i just got a sunburst Blacktop jazzmaster from my music shop...and personally i love it, put it like this... it feels alot like a classic player Jaguar Special HH..u know the sunburst Or olympic white. in my oppinion.
This guitar sounds great! I really want one now; you've convinced me. What amp are you playing it out of? Do you think it would sound good through my evil twin?
@Bsaefong No contest, go with the classic player Jazzmaster. It gives you more sound-shaping due to its rhythm/lead circuit switch and independent pickup controls. Some have also said the blacktop's humbucker is pretty weak. Not to mention, the classic player just looks cooler (IMO).
@DL2404 I know what you mean there, I've stuck down all the saddles with blu-tac, and had to rescrew the bastards in properly once before. The bridge should be redesigned asap. HOWEVER I own this guitar and I love it <3
why is it so cheap? not complain =) but why? will this go up in value over the years and be a real fender that with grow sonically with age or is it just some junky, short term guitar?
@IDanClarkI They're built better than the ... guitar that now wears the Jagmaster name. Mexico vs. China is no contest. The Jagmaster also lacks a tremolo, this doesn't.
