I heard him play this piece in person when he came to america this past fall. and it was the prettiest thing I have ever heard. Being a euphonium myself I was deeply moved and in awe of what he could do. At the end I was crying and cheering at the same time. In two years I do believe I will play this for my college senior recital
The euphonium is such a beautiful instrument. I'm a saxophonist, but the euphonium is my favorite solo instrument hands down. This is simply beautiful!
I forgot to say hello to George ,from janice, you´re greatest fan ever, ever. living in Denmark now love you and you and you´re music George. Did you have a hand in teaching David he sounds like you did. <3 Janice
Ive never heard any thing that sounds remotly like David Childsother than George who also played the euphnium for Cory Workman´s Band in the late sixties and seventies.
I am a euphonium player, and I certainly look up to David Childs. This is a beautiful piece, I've sung The Armed Man and hopefully can play this solo with my concert band. Such a lovely piece played by the best euphonium player on earth!
I play for a brass band in swindon and they came down and we preformed together. The GWYB only played 2 song but it was amazing. an older member of the band tried hitting on him. LOL. I can't belive he is that good. at his best live and there solo cornet/ trumpet player is ace too. They are all ace. Gods of brass.
Oh My God !!!! i got to play this piece in the Spa in Scarborough. this recording makes it sound so good. i just hopes it goes well lol !!! this is amazing
i heard this piece for the first time yesterday, it was played by the belgian navy band, with a mixed choir, on the occasion of 90 years end of the great war.
das this piece exist in a arrangement for a quintet?
Played this tonight at band practice, and standing at the front when the percussion comes in around 2:50 just sounds so cool. Can't wait to play it out!
our principle euphonium plays this and i also have accompanied this piece...we also played this peice in belgium for the war memorial at the menin gate...fantastic piece

That is how the instrument was meant to be played... euphoniously! (Sweet-sounding, with a subtle hint of passion) Very nice, Mr. Jenkins.
