Well it would have made my Fast Five last week, but I felt there wasn't enough meat in the first issue. Sure we get that big cliffhanger at the end and those beautiful maps by Hickman, but I was expecting more "UMPH" in that first issue.
I'm glad thou liked thee issue #600 of Thor. I hast not taken thy time to find it yet, but thou hast persuaded me to read it. Nice review mortal, now would thou please explain how the Batman fared. The gods of Asgard would be proud to know.
Batman was good, and it certainly did take the Morrison taste out of my mouth. Due to me being a little confused of where / when it took place, it will perhaps get picked next issue.
As for Thor, so many goodies in the book! Totally worth the $5 price tag.
Seems like Grant Morrison and Joe Quesada should do lunch. Both are tremendously egotistical, and neither one care about fucking over the fans:
Morrison - Final Crisis
Quesada - One More Day
Both of these guys seriously need help with pulling their heads out of their asses. I need to know, who would you want to write for Batman and Spider-Man? I hope Paul Dini gets a year run on Batman, and I would like to see Mark Millar write a Spider-Man story. Keep up the good reviews Cammy!
Paul Dini for a year would be simply awesome. His little one-and-done's he was doing for Detective were like a more mature Batman: TAS each month. I would definitely choose him. I'd also nominate Jason Aaron for writer of Batman. I think he'd have a few cool tales in mind.
As for Spider-Man, I think Brian Reed would be a killer choice. Check-out the Ms. Marvel Annual he did, and you'll see he just nails Spidey's humor. Reed and Mark Waid.
I did check out the Ms.Marvel Annual, and you're right, Spidey's humor is just awesome. I couldn't quit laughing when Spidey kept pestering Ms.Marvel about her feet, and the way he kept being such a smart ass about the SHRA.
I thought Dini's run on Detective Comics was phenomenal, and I just wish he could keep going with it. I too felt like I was watching TAS again.
One more question, if you could pick an EIC for Marvel, who would you like to see? I'd go with Mr. Bendis. Joe Q. sucks!!
mark millar already did a spidey story, dodsons and cho on art chores. it was a marvel knights 12 issue maxiseries, and it was pretty decent. cliff notes: aunt may got kidnapped, mj got a gun, vulture acts like a hero
okay cool. i agree, millar does some great work, and mj geting a gun seemed like a great and totally natural thing for the frequent-damsel-in-distress to go and do; i thought peter parker's reaction was off-key though, he should have had real problems with it...uncle ben died being shot after all, i figure he'd have some ethical problems with it and have an 'it's me or the gun' ultimatum instead of shrugging and accepting it!
he'll probably have *a* spidey in ult avengers, like he did in mcw ;)
Tomasi was the best writer to go out on with Nightwing. Batman was enjoyable (the art and story both wonderful), but I just wasn't sure when it took place. Perhaps next issue will help (hopefully) clarify what universe or when it takes place.
thats what i thought of when i read it. cause theres no way that any of that is "real" even the meeting with all the villans and companyin crime ally. it dosent make any logical sence in batmans current continuity. so yes hes most likley in the omega santion or this 2 parter is completly out of continuity.
Another Great Show. Mongul is a good leader and I heard Lex Luthor is also going to be part of a corps, as a leader, perhaps the orange Lanterns but recent solicitations suggested that he may end up as a black lantern.
So Cammi I gotta ask how come your not reviewing Secret Warriors?

If I don't fill my cheesy one-liners quota, the bad man touches me. So I gotta stay on top of my game, because I can't afford another therapy bill.
Err, Thanks for watching!

by the way Cammy in the next Thor comic, pick up the variant it has "hee, hee." it has Thor listening to a mp3 player. Anyways great review.

I always took Thor as a Walkman kinda guy. Oh well.
I'll totally look for it when it comes out, because this Thor run has been nothing short of spectacular!

I know about Millar's prior run, but I'm saying I'd like to see another one done. I loved it when MJ got a gun, it made her look real Badass!

i think it takes place with bruce in the omega santion. which makes perfect sence.

My pick of the week- Batman 686
My fast 5- GLC 33, Nightwing 153, Batman and the Outsiders special, Captain Britian and the MI13 10, Thor 600

Although I didn't recognize when Batman 686 took place, I did really enjoy Gaiman's story.
