@TheSixnstones It's about the volume compression squashing the dynamics of the song. If we could compare this to an un-compressed version adjusted at equal overall loudness, the quality would be infinitely better.

its not that much of a wall of sound. But yes, reclaimer, I understand what you mean. It actually breath more than productions like WET/toby hitchcock. It sounds terrific. I would put the guitar a bit more front even.
They write totally great songs for sure, the problem I have with modern day AOR is the wall of sound productions, but then again that's most of the music industry these days regardless of genres. It's the same studio technique everywhere now. I just miss some space and room for the instruments to breath, it's too much of everything at the same time, if you know what I mean. If these guys cooled down somewhat they'd be even greater, musically we're already talking classic mainstream rock here.
