  • You listen to your fans? THEN CHANGE THIS FUCKING PG SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What was he fighting with the Federal Government about?

  • @gowwe12 I think it had to do with steroids

  • Who determinds the ratings of a show? Is there somewhere people can go and rate it?

  • haha wwe sounds like shit. WWF was way cooler. Those wildlife freakz totally screwed wrestling!!!!

  • @bLauAuFmBaU I know, for some reason I grown every time I have to say WWe. It just sounds too childish for some reason. Like something that should appeal to kids. WWf has that aspect of it that makes it sound more legitimate. I suppose that's why they like it though, b/c it allows them to differentiate themselves from legitimate sports to "sports entertainment."

  • So,does this mean that the AAA Motor Club can issue an injunction against AAA Wrestling?

  • @sorednax yea kinda

  • What's ironic is that the WWF isn't even called the WWF anymore! It's now referred to as the "World Wildlife Fund for Nature"....so technically it's now WWFN. :-p

  • Wow, even a Panda beat Mr. McMahon

  • talking about when he brought back the old Hogan, it really seemed like Vince had no clue what to do to make his company better. and he still has no clue. he tried to create another Rock with Cena but it has not worked like it should. now he seems to be trying to make another Stone Cold with CM Punk. Vince is a great tv producer but in the end but a lot of his big successes are luck.

  • ratings are now down even more from what costas was talking about

  • Comment removed

  • why didnt vince reuse "world-wide wrestling federation"? it sounds better than wwe.

  • @blacksixspeed Or just name the "WF". It almost sounds like the WWF

  • Mcmahon has done some questionable things over the years but as a businessman and running a successful company... second to none.

  • Why did Costas' bitch ass keep trying to drill the point across that Vince was on the path to failure? Ask a question or two, but fuck, all one can assume was he was trying to bait a billionaire into beating him up so he could get a piece

  • @6:50 - "THIS IS KINDA NICE FOR ME TO SAY, to sorta remind you to.. Get the "F" out." lol!

  • oh Love the fact that Vince gets real mad lol this guy is awesome lol

  • mcmahon should watch this interview and think to himself how sweet those 'low' 5.0 ratings he was doing in 2002 would be now.

  • @Brucesox Mcmahon went on record back in 1998 saying that he basically doesn't care about TV ratings. The company makes the bulk of it's money with merchandise and advertising.

  • UFC is killing all pro wrestling today.

  • @aitraining Those are two completely different sports.

  • @TacticalItalian I know but the fan who just liked the ECW style extreme shit and high impact WWE stuff went to UFC in droves the last few yrs. WWE cut out the neck moves and a lot of high risk stuff. Wrestling lost a lot of fans to real MMA imo.

  • No your down because you do no give the fans what they want. And haven't for about a decade

  • Maybe when and if they become WWF again, that would be the perfect opportunity to bring back the attitude and screw PG!!

  • @whoelses Would never happen. Attitude was just WWF pushing the limits to beat WCW in the ratings. And the majority of their stars were created for PG, it would be a hassle to re-invent them for a more edgier tv show.

  • @lionslicer9999 because of no comp makes sense to me

  • WWF will not take WWE to court again. WWE's Linda McMahon says that they would make a profit if they sold the letter "E" in the initials and replace it with the "F", That they'd own the tradmark since the court order will need to be renewed. The WWE would make 500 thousand $ if they sold the tradmark of the WWE logo and the initial E. The WWE is still undergoing conferences to determind if this is a good decision. It's posibly the WWE could become the WWF once again

  • wwe is not that low, it is just different...

  • @Kozzy06 yeah it always seems that Raw is the better show compared to Smackdown with better promos, better matches, and more three hour special live episodes, and a lot people like raw more than Smackdown, yet surprisingly the ratings for Smackdown are the best in WWE and the last January 21 episode of Smackdown had ratings gone through the roof, the audience was full house that night. I too prefer watching Smackdown mosty due to coming out on Fridays. and screw the pandas

  • you have not reinvented yourself in years

  • i dnt think vince would have ever changed the name wwf if he never got sued

  • @kdog104 obviously....

  • vince if u wana give us wat we want then go back to attitude and attitude wrestling the wwe and bring back tv-14 thats wat we want language and wrestling and everything fuck the little kids

  • @kdog104 You really want a now a days attitude era ?.... you really want vince and the creative team to fuck up that era too ?.... ok, your call tho.

  • @kdog104 i agree if you want to "draw in" the kids create a cartoon like you did in the 80's but use the wrestlers voices dont make the wrestling fans who are loyal suffer through the g rated crap

  • 'F' as in FUCK!! we need the F back!!

  • What people tend to forget is that there were some stupid gimmicks/segments in the 1998 - 2006 era like mark henry/mae young, eugene, kiss my a** club, vince forcing trish to strip and bark like a dog, katie vick, etc. we dont see as much of that anymore, which is a good thing, but we should at least see unpredictable matches with less cartoonish characters/storylines. It's just too much like a childish sitcom now.

  • This week WWPGE RAW got a 2.8 rating when they used to get a 3.8 that is down about a good 35%+.

2010 is the downfall of WWE.

  • wwf souldnt have killed wcw and ecw healthy competition was demanding competitvie matches not that bullcrap today

  • @lachicola wcw wasnt killed by wwe,wcw killed itself due to bad business and stupid decisions.

  • @WWEGameFan And a corporate brick wall of AOL TimeWarner which was not a big fan of wrestling the way Ted Turner was. :D

  • Man, this host is such an asshole

  • why cant it be world federation wrestling not really wwf its close to it but still i know its stupid dont hate

  • Granted, there wil always be wrestling. But it will never be as big as it was in the mid 80's into the 90's

  • @goodoldbill thats so true

  • @goodoldbill it was bigger in the late 90s tho lol

  • I respect what the Wildlife Fund have done for animals n for their welfare, but what low class asses(pun intended) to be jealous of the Federation's success. Hey,the Federation was so popular coz it was great marketing. Mr.McMahon knew how to promote it. U guys couldn't further ur cause better to the masses is ur fault. U suck at it. So they took the low road n filed a law-suit.

    Jealous bastards

  • fuck the world wildlife fund who gives a flying fuck about animals

  • raw sucks, with the wrestler talking all PG for the kids they talk so corny. i feel almost embarassed to listen to them. grown men who are tough and fight with each other should not be on a tv show thats PG.

  • wwe fans are now UFC fans..wwe is riding on little kids to carry them these few years

  • the WWE always comes back stronger, it exploded in the 80s, and then went down, they had the attitude era, and then it went down again. WWE will explode again as it has before.

  • Be cool if they went back to WWF

  • @DominationFraley

I agree. U speak nothing but the Truth.

  • The wrestlers that came after Cena are whack! John Morrison / Jack Swagger / MVP...Cody Rhodes..u name it!! They have no swag nor do they have that "it" like Batista or Randy Orton. Wrestlings changed.

  • @RowlexEnterprise Wow, so John Morrison < Batista? Are you a wrestling fan?

  • @phatmax1212 Not anymore. Check how wrestling was back in the mid 90's to how it is now. The wrestlers who came after Batista or the Randy Orton generation like the Miz...tha Wazzup? dude...etc. It's like...WTF? John Morrison is talented tho. But his whole persona i ain't feelin.

  • The last time the WWE has gotten over a 5.0 TV rating or higher was on MARCH 25, 2002. Since then they haven't been able to get a 5 or higher. Just a interesting fact.

  • I like hearing Vince speaking candidly about the downfalls and such of his companies.

  • vince pointed out the problem himself - they try to offer compelling stories and athleticism. they deliver neither.

  • so it's true after invasion all three companies died WWF WCW ECW and i say WWF cuz now its WWE and you can't really count WWECW i give them about 4 more years and you will be seeing it all over again WWE TNA ROH

  • wwe really isnt what it use to be

  • the World Wildlife Fund argued the initials WWF would create mass confusion between themselves and the federation and hurt their image as environmentalist.

  • Oh yeah, I remember this. WWE lost a leading face at the time. Understandable that they shrunk in size.

  • is there a chance that wwe ever be called wwf again

  • No, they can't use that moniker anymore. WWF belongs solely to World Wildlife Fund. They won the rights to it in court, so WWE can never use that moniker ever again, which makes no sense since WWF used that damn moniker for years and years. I still don't fucking understand it. I wish they would though, because WWF sounds so much better than WWE. WWE just sounds so lame. I still call it WWF though.

  • I don't mind the name WWE, but It pisses me off that Vince had to edit the huge video library, rather than just using WWF no longer. I bought th Wrestlemania boxset and Wrestlemani's 15-18, was heavily editted with the WWF on the ring aprons, the turnbuckles ad everywhere else, blurred. I hope Vince countersues WWF to ease the restrictions since it messes with a ton of the wrestling footage

  • That's not the worst part, I can handle the blurred WWF, although I do agree that it is a major pain in the ass at times. What SUCKS the most is that a lot of classic matches that have blood in them , are now in BLACK AND WHITE during the blood parts because of this stupid ass PG era. I canceled my sub to WWE 24/7 because of that shit. I'm paying money MONTHLY to watch WWE when it DIDN'T SUCK, and they STILL censor it as if I'm 7 years old. Pissed me off ROYALLY. You're not getting my cash.

  • @pjdr a name is just a name. the product isn't affected by the name.

  • @yawalad

Yea you are right. But i remember the night the WWF changed the name to the WWE and i was pissed because the WWE name sounds and looks so stale and boring. The WWF name sounds more catchy and edgy.

  • is there a video on youtube of the first interview vince had on this show. where they argued

  • competition generates cash. wiyhout wcw wrestling is dead even with tna, which is a low level wwe

  • HOW BOUT GET THE E OUT

  • I hate the World Wildlife Fund so much.

On top of being responsible for the change of name to WWE they also tried to steal (it's the best word) 360$ million dollars from the WWE with a ridiculous lawsuit.

What kind of an environmental organization does this? Shouldn't they be using their money to save the pandas?

  • WWE is responsible. Vince got cocky and went into extra markets without any pay to WWF. Had had dropped a few million to them a year, he could've kept the name.

  • Hey, Triple H and WWE brought a lawsuit against the rap artist The Game because Triple H wanted to be the only one called 'The Game', even though it's used only as a title and not as his characters name.

WWE is just as bad as the new WWF.

  • @ZTgame13 Not to mention,my DVD's are blurry because of them.

  • @ZTgame13 Yes its stinks but it was Vince who violated his own agreement with the wildlife fund back in the 90's. Vinces ego made a bad decision. :/

  • @ZTgame13 world wildlife fund are also compared a hurricane to the 911 terrorist attacks

  • @ZTgame13 amen to that.

  • @ZTgame13 In 2000, the World Wide Fund for Nature sued the World Wrestling Federation (now named WWE) for unfair trade practices. Both parties had shared the initials "WWF" since 1979. The conservation organization claimed that the wrestling company had violated a 1994 agreement regarding international use of the WWF initials.

On August 10, 2001, an English court ruled in favor of the World Wide Fund for Nature.

  • @ZTgame13

Actually the WWE were in the wrong: they arrogantly went against a deal they had reached with the World Wildlife Fund to not use a certain brand logo, presumably because of their financial success in the late 90s.

  • @ZTgame13 really. fuck the "new" WWF. I can understand everything from whatever date it was settled that they no longer use the WWF but why when I buy HH Unreleased collectors edition they blur the WWF logo from the 80's and censor what Hulk says when he says "...the WW - blurp - heavyweight champion..." its fucking retarded to censor something that happened over 20 yrs ago. what kind of idiot could confuse a panda bear with the a wrestler?

  • @ZTgame13

    absolutely agreed!

  • According to these guys vince is still fighting for the intials WWF and right now its just WWE. Well its been almost 8 years and its still WWE.

  • @wtfmost according to what guys? If he's fighting for the WWF initials again, then great - I hope he wins.

I mean, it's not like we're stupid, right? We can tell the difference between the World Wildlife Fund and the World Wrestling Federation.

  • all of you stop its vince's fault for all of this . if he was not a whimp he would have still been wwf. and if you would have begged time warner not to sell wcw that would still be living

  • Yeah, because just begging them to hang on to a company that was losing millions upon millions of dollars a year will get them to do it, right? and Vince McMahon of all people would go and BEG them to save WCW and not sell it, correct?

    You're a dummy.

  • I've always like wrestling, but the "Entertainment" portion of the show has taken over anything to do with wrestling...Too many backstage scenes, too many unattractive matches...It's sad to see the WWE in the shape it's in...In my opinion, ECW was the best wrestling organization...They had good ass storylines, great characters, the women were attractive as hell, and the guys could actually wrestle...SMH, wrestling is dead.

  • Wow. I never knew why they changed from WWF to WWE, but was always curious. I just assumed it was because they absorbed WCW and ECW. A panda just never entered my mind as being a logical reason for it. Kind of a disappointment.

  • that's because you're an idiot who knows nothing.

  • at least i can spell "retard"

  • haha, since 2002, they have created no one even half the draw of the rock... cena.....hahaha.....edge......hardy.......give me strength,

  • Rock was great, but still not as big a draw as stone cold. Cena, Batista and Lesnar are the only stars they 'made' since 2002 if you ask me.

  • totally agreed stone cold is bigger draw then the rock, even vince mcmahon knows that, stone cold is the greatest wwe superstar of all times

  • @overfiend30

Batista is not a star in my eyes, he is so boring.

  • @aaaaaagg2a lucky you, hes quit. i agree though

  • Why is that funny?!? I could tell you were British before looking at your profile.

  • RAW turning PG is whats killing it

no one wants to see another PG rated show

it was stupid to do that

they dont focus on the moves like they used to they dont really give these guys good storylines

i mean come on santino should have had a better thing going

they let go of SOOOO much talent rather then just do shit with them

  • Comment removed

  • they did that cuz they didnt want to hurt lindas chances at senate.

but the product sucks more than EVER, ive been a wrestling fan for close to 25 years and i am now literally losing complete interest and dont care about any storylines or anything.

  • @DariusKnightshade

The PG rating has nothing to do with why the WWE is boring now. Because back in 2006 they were TV-14 and they still was not that great. It just comes down to the creative team writing good storylines. But i still want the TV-14 rating back.

If you guys watch WWE RAW now days the only thing the wrestlers do now is fight someone for a championship. Is that the best the creative team can come up with. Why not have someone get jumped backstage or something like that.

  • @aaaaaagg2a watch yesterdays raw and say that again

  • @BARAN23555

    Say what again?

  • mcmahon will NEVEr buy tna. you're fucking reatred. you think he jsut throws moeny at something and he claims it. You don't know shit boy. go educate yoursef before you comment.

  • Comment removed

  • go...and fuck yourself. Ooh, he's pointing out my grammar. Point at hand douchebag. I could care less about you or anyone else who shares a fucked up uneducated opinion like your own, my grammar is the very last ting that comes to mind. mttr f fct yr wrth abt ths mch f my tm, cunt!

  • @wwerulezaja its "faggot"

  • People aren't watching WWE because the product is stagnant, like it was in the early-to-mid-90s when they were getting beaten in the ratings every week by WCW. Now they can't even blame the competition, as they don't really have any.

  • I wish they did the interview in the bathroom in the bathtub so they could play with Vince's tub toys!

  • "Mainstream" may be for lack of a better word, but i was just trying to get the point across that wrestling is plastic now. you talk about how wrestling is bigger now, but it will never be as big as it was in the attitude era ( stone cold, the rock, etc...). i saw the ratings chart for the last ten years or so and it has decreased.

  • wrestling will never be as big as it was years ago, during the hogan era, or the stone cold, or even the rock era because it was turned too mainstream, which is targeted for more can i say.........untrue wrestling fans??

  • You make good points. But remember this is the entertainment business. And because its entertainment its based on ideas. All it takes is a good idea for the right guy to take off. Nobody thought "stunning steve" would ever be one of if not the biggest names in the business and the same with "Rocky Maivia" if I spelled that right. Someone just needs to light a fire under the writers asses and I worry that wont happen until someone becomes competition.

  • Are you mentally challenged? Do you even realise what you just said? Wrestling will never be as big as it was cause now it's too mainstream?

Wtf do you think mainstream means? Hahaha. Wrestling has become tons more popular world wide because of video games and the internet.

Besides that, the standards are much higher now than ever. Take a look at old matches with Hogan, Ultimate Warrior etc. They can't even wrestle.

    Get a clue.

  • you have no idea what youre talking about. wrestling is "mainstream" because it appeals to the general market instead of "real" wrestling fans. it is not anymore about putting the guy over. it is about wrestling moves. only generic fans care abotu that. the same thing that happened to grunge rock music or rock music in general.

  • The reason ratings have went down is because most people record it on sky etc

  • No.

The ratings are down because Raw is completely terrible.

  • @Kozzy06

    yes it is

  • @Kozzy06 This was in 02', it wasn't so terrible back then.

  • @NWpowerhouse85

The WWE wasn't terrible at all in the years 2002 to 2006. Yea in those years it wasn't like the glory days but it wasn't bad either. 2005 was when the WWE started to get a little boring but it was still alright. 2007 is when the WWE got dumb a little bit... and then in 2008 is when it went PG... that caused for boring storylines and matches and wrestlers.

  • @Kozzy06 It is now.

  • @Kozzy06 The ratings for Raw sucks but wwe superstars and smackdown have way better ratings

  • @Kozzy06 and you completely stupid

  • @Kozzy06

It wasn't terrible in May of 2002 when this interview was conducted.

  • @Kozzy06 Mainstream wrestling in general is terrible anymore if you ask me.

  • i think still to this day that if u say to anybody in the street WWF 99% of people would say wrestling

  • "Get the F out."

    Fucking genius!

  • yea, it takes real smarts to use foul language after you get beat by the World WildLife Fund, the true WWF

  • Have you ever heard of CP Munk? He's a parody of CM Punk, dressed in a chipmunk costume, and part of his gimmick is that he is a former "WWF superstar". LOL

  • see what i mean, vince mcmaggot-er mcmahon has no originality(he copied the nancy kerrigan incident with bret and owen, then he copied the rodney king incident, just reversed it with nailz and big bossman) All the WorldWild Life Fund(the true WWF)asked him to do was a simple marketing request. it's good to see arrogant scum put in their place

  • Actually, CP Munk wasn't a Vince McMahon creation; he's never been in WWE.

CP Munk is from this indie promotion called Chikara, which is headed by reigning NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Mike Quackenbush. I think Quackenbush was the one who thought of CP Munk.

  • I stopped watching when Hogan came back. Took me a few years to return. But "Get the F out" way to put a positive spin on a negative event Vince.

  • you stopped watching when hogan returned to take the title away from a hand fed chump like triple h? interesting

  • How is HHH more hand fed than any other champion? In the end it all comes down to who Vince thinks will draw a gate. In my opinion Triple H has had more matches that truely entertained me than Hogan.

  • well let us see:he stabs bret hart in the back(sorry, but cripple h knew about the montreal deal all along), he dates the promoters daughter, knocks her up, and basically becomes the promoters yes man so he can get the title every 6-8 months. hogan, never a yes man. hogan, never had to screw the family(figuretively OR literally). the only time hhh was entertaining is when he saw that back in 2002 the right thing was to drop the title to hogan

  • I love it when Satan Speaks!!

  • lol

  • Vince admitted it was fake because of all the regulations in so many different states and of course because of the money you had to pay each state.

  • sex sells...but only for awhile...Wrestling has used up its story line

  • Well he admited something WE ALL KNOW. So it didn;t ruin anything really, just saved people from looking like idiots.

  • I'm not sure how long u've been watching wrestling but there was a time when that mystique existed. Watch another video from Eric Bishoff in "off the record" interview and he talks about the same thing. Frankly, he thinks it was a MISTAKE.

it's easy to say that now that it's out in the open. But I remember in the 70's, it was quite different. The magic is gone after they admitted it...

  • no he ruined it with xxx material and a finger flipping say the word ass every second champion(shout out Mr. Austin)

  • sorry vince but wwe will never have the ratings that wwf attitude once did!

  • i even wonder if the 80's explosion was even better ratings wise then the so called "attitude era" which basically was made up of finger flipping, trash talk for 20 minutes then wrestle for 5 minute and of course saying the word ass 28 times in a 3 minute interview

  • Is vince really a nice guy outside of the business? Like I know he can be seen as an asshole when it comes to the politics of wrestling but as a person is he a good guy?

  • I believe Vince is a good guy but as with all business men he has a ruthless streak which is what most of us fans see and hear about. If you watch shoot interviews with wrestlers who have worked for him very few of them openly say he is anything but a really cool guy...even the ones that have hated him like Bret Hart are still mostly positive about him as a person...

  • Vinny just make the WWE More adult oriented and i'll watch again. since 2003 its dipped in quality but also in interest fom me.

  • The saying 'all good things come to an end' speaks true for wwf. It was the best wrestling the world will ever see period but it's coming to an end. TNA will never be as big a company as WWF, WCW OR ECW. If WWE goes before TNA Entertaining Wrestling will die.

  • ok hogan=cena they same two types of heros in the wwf/wwe vince saw somthing in cena and thst a new hero since hulkhogan both of them are marketed to kids soo hogan and cena both are overrated stars.... but theres nothing we as fans can do about it just deal with it lolzzz. im pissed to that cena keeps getting the spot light but thankgod for hhh orton and edge cuz they the only guys that can put cena down ..

  • I thought for a long time that WWE was branding Cena as THE GUY (the next Hogan) but if you chronicle his main event push alongside Batista's it's clear that WWE were trying to get both of them to superstar level, not just Cena...

  • na this was in 2002

  • Costas is a dick in this interview!

  • Hogan is a phenomenally over rated individual, and a very unprofessional one at that. But in what ever fairness to Hogan, he is not the only one at all. In today's WWE people with class are astonishing, one clear example is John Cena. You can place Cena and Hogan next to one another and Cena will always be the better one when it comes to class and professionalism. Who cares how many wrestlemania's Hogan headlined, it does not make him a better person.

  • dude, I'm okay with people hating on Hogan but CENA?!?!?!!?! You think Hulk Hogan is over-rated and Cena is good? God help you because John Cena is 1) the lamest character in WWE history and 2) one of the worst in-ring performers to be the world champion

  • I agree at this point Cena really hasnt proved himself as a world champion. He hasnt improved as an in ring performer. On the mic, yeah he's still ok but it seems, to me, his in ring moves are still the same as when he broke in

  • Excellent comments.

  • Batitsta is a pumped up idiot, who is a second rate Goldberg, which isnt saying much. I'm so glad Vince had enough class to send Ric Flair, the BEST of all time, off on a great tribute. Terry Bollea (Hogan) couldnt lace Flair's boots

  • he says he listens to people and what they want. obviously not anymore. we want the attitude era back, not this kiddy bullshit they have now!!!!

  • They're listening to the kids who's parents have the money. It's sad.

  • The PTC (Parent Television Council) bitched at them so much about those Attitude days that I feel WWE gave in and gave us gaytarded storylines for kids with developing brains! lol

  • The attitude era would lose sponsors these days so it probably won't come back. Besides, there's no WCW to make the WWE work that hard anymore.

  • They are doing what they have to do. They did this back in the early to mid 90's and had to change then, they will change again eventually. It will take A TON of time though!

  • Since this was some time ago, I'm guessing Vince lost the appeal and the WW"F" is forever dead and gone.

  • Seems like Costas is kinda being a dick. I like both Costas and Vince, but he's got a bit of snipe in this interview.

  • get the F in

  • nah....it should be more like....get the "F" back....

  • "get the F back IN"!
