Thanks for this (first?) glimpse of your vinyl collection. You just can't beat the feel and the sheer visual impact of a nice fold-out LP cover! I look forward to the next instalment.
Fine video there Jen and Rush 2112 is part of the soundtrack to our musical lives here, deservedly so. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite from that selection as The Beatles were the best. I love Abraxas as well. I was definitely intrigued that it appears that you have an original Tull Thick as a Brick with the nice fold out newspaper. I do have a soft spot of Vera Lynn and the war time stuff. Very cool camera work doing isolations on the jackets!
Great collection, Jen. I have a lot of those myself, but I only have "2112" on CD. The first time I heard that (Temples Of Syrinx), was back around 1977, I was up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with my church youth group driving around town in a brand new Thunderbird to go to a pizza place, and it was on the radio. Blew me away! They had some great album rock stations up there back then. Haven't been able to get up there since then though.
It's not the computer, it's the wetware on this end. When things change I'll be back but for now it's time to disconnect and sort some pressing issues.
"Nights In White Satin" is one of my favs! i should upload it soon.
my girlfriend just bought me my first Beatles album on vinyl "The Magical Mystery Tour" for record store day, I just finished side one not even 5mins ago!
@gilmour509 Magical Mystery Tour is also a 20 minute double EP. A half is in the possession of my grandmother. It was not until 1970 you could order the album on the World Record Club.
@unclekk92 :) Thanks! Those are just a few random ones. I have small piles of them around the house. This was the first set that I happened to grab. I will be posting the rest as time passes. Out of all of the albums my video featured, which is your personal favourite? I'm gonna give a shout out to Zeppelin's album Coda, which somehow always seems to get overlooked. I named my dog Coda after it.
@jenzeppelin My personal favourite is RUSH 2112 but i do like Pink floyd i think there best album was The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. And i agree with you Coda is an underrated album great vid.
All apologies for the texts on the back of the record being so fuzzy. If you are interested in what some of them say, just let me know and I'll transcribe it for you. I was trying to show where it says Canada on these. The blurb featured on the Vera Lynn album about Canada's importance to Britain during WWII was very touching, as was dedicating it to us.
Nice collection, great background music selection! You have cool videos....
