  • I like this band very much, but THIS is totally fake >_<

  • Harry ist so sexy^^ Er hat was.. *fauch

  • Just a perfect pop song with a perfectly insane impossible love chorus "let's grow old together & die at the same time" : )

  • Joy Division lives on in them for sure. They don't make me ill like most bands mining JD's sound. These guys deserve as much of a chance as Interpol got.

  • So great song!

  • I love Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode and this band brings me back to everything I loved about those bands. I have both albums on heavy rotation because it's just good music, regardless of who came first.

  • the only song that this group has good

  • And the bravery is a fake ass new order trying to sound like robert smith......

    :D

  • Fake ass bravery.

  • @dancingwithcalvin lol,perfect description!

  • @dancingwithcalvin I was thinking the same... I like the songs...but I still think they are a little bit fake..

  • sounds like joy division and she wants revenge. AAAH I LOVEE IT!

  • what guitar is lead singer playing

  • album bellissimi...ma muovetevi un po'!!!

  • the best band in the uk .......nfq!

  • That´s great! You maybe like Action Man League´s songs as well.

  • My favorite new band, simply because 1. They have amazing skill and 2. they are influenced by some of the best bands of all time (Depeche Mode and Duran Duran).

  • They were at wembly last year when i went to see muse ,i just love there style maybe very 80s but the 80s were the best ,they are a good band and look forward to hearing more from them in 2011.

  • faveorite band EVER!!!!!!!!

  • Uwielbiam Jego Głos :)))

    I Love His Voice :))))

  • La batería suena un poco mal.

  • Is there any american who can send me the studio version of this song??? And NO i cant watch or listen to it because its not allowed to european. FU** SONY OR WMG or whatever...

  • A group like this only comes out once in a dreamtime. although you may not realize it now... you are now witnessing history in the making... as xxxxx@xxxx said... WHITE LIES IS THE FUTURE

  • It's obvious the sound is nothing new, but I think it's a forgivable sin as long as it's done well and it's not a complete regurgitation of old sounds. I forgive White Lies.

  • Herrlich...

  • Thee guys are good, and i'm an old skool headbanger...

  • Do I hear auto tune? Seriously I know nothing about music and am generally quite intrigued to know whether this is auto tune I hear :)

  • @JanusThe1st This is not kanye, this is White Lies, they have no reaon to use auto tune, it's supposed not to sound great.

  • @JanusThe1st You hear. At least it doesnt sound like T-Pain

  • Like it very deep and a great performance

  • hear what you say re Joy Division....Lot of people don't realise is Joy Division are New Order....

    80's forever.

  • The record is so much like an old Human League track .... keyboards an all.. he even sounds a bit like uncle Phil!!!!

    Nice one lads.

  • Too derivative...

  • good song!!!!!!

    80"s came back

  • i want to start the nibiru flyby and pole shift survival group, or join the existing one.

let me know who is interested.

  • @sexypoetry and i want to escape frm this planet or to silence whole world to make them realise how much good living is important more than shitting.we will go nowhere we are all idiots

  • @Dipslip16 i am not an idiot...au contraire, i am genius, officially, according to IQ tests

  • I just found these guys on I tunes as a recomendation and I bought the record

  • Cure pur !!!

  • Excelente banda recomendada

  • Where is the love button? (I know a lot of people say that but I mean it) I get an 80s vibe to this and I like it.

  • Man..Tune that Bass-Guitar...

  • This is quite good stuff.. and they roots are in the 80's for sure.. And yeah... this is like - what Joy Division would play going further in the direction of "Love will tear us apart", wich was already a "mainstream, dance-able classic" (not intend to offend anyone;)

  • 2:30 tech fail forgot to turn on his mic for him oh dear

  • Cool song - i like your music!

  • Could someone tell what effect is used by the bass guitar player?

  • if you : >) this you should check

    group: SYSTEM 56

    "Your Only Dreaming"

    "Life on a Cool Curve"

local group couldn't find on youtube

  • They sound great live

  • They sound BEYOND AMAZING live.

  • For this mp3 just go to everymp3rip doht cohm.

  • kik ass mates!!!

  • omg i hope he is gay, i would hit it

  • @schwingschwongify hit what ? lol

  • is like the 80's itsn't it..rare these days..Love it

  • the sound sucks, but i know white lies kick ass live

  • Is it me or these guys sound eerily familiar to Interpol? It is not bad, just that there is already one band being Interpol already.

  • @schunathy

    yeah but Interpol went down

lights sucks and i am a fan of Interpol

when they play in LA i still want to watch them but

they're new shit not so good

  • @schunathy no Interpol is incredibly boring while WL actually can make some good and memorable tunes

maybe because theyre from UK and interpol from US

  • all that im saying is that there are some similarities in sound at times to joy division ...a total replication of joy division???of course not!!! but there is a joy division influence here...

  • @meowman001, you prob should listen to Modern English then because the only song of theirs that made the Top 40 was Melt With You. The rest is dark. And I love both bands. So when there are parts of the White Lies' songs that remind me of specific Modern English songs, I'm pretty sure they are similar. To me, Joy Division isn't even a comparable band. They are WAY too dark. I never even thought of them as a similar band.

  • fearless reuploaded this in HD. Apparently they also did some postprocessing on the audio, it sounds much better now:

    /watch?v=HJtKicV_oLI

  • Funny how nobody is comparing them to Modern English. I love both bands. Love Joy Division, Interpol and Editors. Not sure they sound like the last two much but I can kind of see it. The music is similar though. But I love that dark, synth, deep-voiced, underground sound. Great live band. Saw them open for Kings of Leon in Kansas City.

  • @mikenaliceson though im not totally familiar with modern english, whitelies are much darker...not top forty material at all...even if it was 1980- 1982

  • great band ..modern day joy division..any new material coming out soon???

  • Comment removed

  • fuck looks. this is music...SOUNDS...we're talking about. and white lies SOUNDS great.

  • oh god how I love those dark voices! like Interpol and of course editors. and before someone starts to hate: this is not a compareing of the bands. thank you.

  • Not their best live performance, their singing and tense look may be the reason....Still good though.

  • This performance is a little bit disappointing. I love the White Lies but it just seems like he was forced to sing this, nowhere near enough energy. The album version is so energetic and here he seems like he's 2 hours into a massive hangover.

  • I think i saw these guys in some rock club in Swansea, Wales in support of Glasvegas. I was really impressed by them. It was a good show.

  • I live in England, and although i have, I can honestly say plenty of people have not heard of Joy division (shame for them tools tbh).

  • @lumberjackconnor Joy Division was the pioneers I say.

  • @lumberjackconnor Sounds impossible...but I can belive you. What can I say...You live in amazing country. This Island was always lucky for good music and good composers - from Thomas Talis, John Dowland, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones on the way to young bands like White Lies, Ladytron, Hurts and many many others...When I look at this guys I can see all this great english roots behind them. Even product and joke on begining - Sex Pistols - changed the world music. Greetings from Poland:)

  • @chumyto31

    Translate it Mr.

  • @chumyto31 hahaha. I'd like to see you make better music than them, they are amazing.

  • im reading all of these comments about joy division and im wearing my joy division t shirt XD

  • sounds like the lead singer from the killers....

  • LMFAO! sounds good just he looks so nervous! ahah

  • very colorfull band =)

    and a nice one...

  • I agree with the Joy Divison reference, they definitely draw on this. However, i was enjoying the band's music b4 i saw this vid, looks like the lead singer is trying to pass something that's quite uncomfortable!

  • Apparently They Had Never Heard Of Jd Or The Cure, How Does That Happen?

  • @akira543 are you serious? I mean.. the first thing I thought when I heard this song was: hmm, makes me think of Ian Curtis and Jd.. but can't be, who hasn't heard of jd?

  • @fuckyoucauseyousuck man if ian curtis were here he'd call you a fucking cunt and tell you to fuck off! they're no joy division!

  • @akira543 that's a load of bullshit! obviously they don't want to force influences on themselves but i mean c'mon they're from england who the fuck hasn't heard of Joy or the cure over there?

  • @91sirhc hi I'm forty, I'm Polish and live in Poland and I'm telling you my first impression was exactly the same. First-so BRITISH, second-another beneficiaries of joy division, third so early 80s dressed in a modern arrange;) I LOVE IT The corus at end is like salt to fries.!!!! I couldn't agree more with your opinion.

  • @91sirhc Obviously there are some influences. but if that is copied joy then either that guy heard only "love tear us apart" or is deaf. no offence meant to anybody. More respect for your own artists. They are standing out and are unique in this world Take care :)

  • @akira543 They lie about it in interviews. That's how it happens.

  • think they need a bit more practice before the big stages

  • I love this song! I'm so into this band now because of vampire diaries!!!

  • they are the joy division of today

    i love them!

  • i was thinking just the same thing and was going to say before i saw your comment lol, as a lifelong JD fan I can see these guys being the true successors to the throne

  • @youwinoneinternets ahh c'mon man you can't be serious! these guys don't even reach joy divisions ankles.

  • i think he is little cold :S

  • THEY RULE LOVE THIS SONG

  • let's grow old together & die at the same time...great lyrics. awesome bass 2. i could've swore i heard this on the vampire diaries.

  • @wonkabarz93 i'm pretty sure it's on every 2 seconds on that show

  • It is on the commercial for it. ik that much. they probably did use it in an episode. its almost the 21st! new episodes! lol

  • sammmmmmmmmeeee

  • they rock

  • the lead singer is a douche! the asshole said that he never listened to joy division...c'mon that's total bullshit.

  • wow

  • The Lost Soldiers

  • it seems a lot Joy Division

  • also She wants revenge and many others xD

  • Comment removed

  • Saw them live loved it :)

  • Dephece Mode meets Black

  • best band ever? are you fucking kidding me? dude editors, arctic monkeys, interpol, joy division, new order, i mean shit there are so many bands better than these guys but they are pretty good you're just on their sack right now.

  • @91sirhc HAHAHAHAHA !!!!That it too funny!

  • "listen to Planet Earth and you get 'to lose my life'"

    you must be kidding.

    =B

  • Best band ever? Not a chance. They're pretty good though. And the line "let's grow old together and die at the same time" is one of the creepiest ever written:)

  • it's stolen frm 'the notebook' though

  • And how about Editors then? Anyone?

  • i can see the Joy Division in it but,

    the cure, no. never.

  • Reminds me of Billy Idol meets the Cure....good stuff

  • cool....

    Remember 80er ...

  • loooooooove it!

    ♥ so fuckin much!

  • U2 + The cure

  • Best band ever!

  • LOWE

  • good stuff.

  • So todays Joy Division :)

  • They're more like "first" Duran Duran.

Listen to Duran's "Planet Earth" and you'll get "To Lose My Life".

  • @kookoskulli nope! that bassist is no peter hook the drummer is no stephen morris and the singer is no ian curtis or bernard sumner. and besides they've "never" heard of joy division or atleast the singer said he hadn't...we all know that's a load of BS.

  • hmmm..reminds me of depeche mode.

  • just saw them this past weekend, opening for Kings of Leon... good shit

  • ultravoxdepechemodenewordertalktalkduranduranhumanleague....perfect flashback!!!!!!!

thanks a lot for that sound boys!!!!

    I´m loving it....

  • very eighties!!

  • LOVELY!!!!!!!! i can't help but enjoy this song

  • Not my type of music but they remind me of the Cars.

  • I LOVE IT

  • Seen them in dublin playing support to Coldplay, love this song by them!!!!!!

  • IMO, this video lacks the power that they put through in the album version

  • Stop comparing them to the killers. No album could possibly beat Hot Fuss.

There a very good new band, but give them a few years then start comaring them

  • I dunno, in my opinion the White Lies are far more profound in their song writing. Don't get me wrong, I love the killers, but I can't say they're better than the white lies.

  • i think killers are excellent in their own way...ive seen both groups live and I feel killers are too commercial and they let themselves being covered by the fame and hollywood style sheet. its too soon to say something about white lies, but they are just quiet and theyre only for their music..as most european groups are...different style, just that...

  • @Sam4saints2006 nah the killers are gay

  • @Sam4saints2006 Are you joking? My left nut is better than Hot Fuss.

  • Comment removed

  • Great song, really enjoy their sound.

  • They sound like the early Killers, and a shitload more, if they want or not. And that's a good thing... let's hope they keep it together. If their next album is better than this one, that's when the game starts. Ask Muse. ;-)

  • ebay tickets for sale for white lies

  • they are better looking than the killers, have a better voice AND have way better lyrics

  • They're simple different: outfits are personal likely, the singer simply has a higer vocal range; I both like lyrics of Killers and of White Lies...they talks about different things...

  • @Larizzz81 i liked the killers first album but everything after that sucked

  • @464928952 youre an idiot, the killers first album was great, their pther albums were just different but were great nonetheless, dont be bitter coz they dont churn out the same shit to their gfands every year

  • @Larizzz81 i think that you may be blind and deaf if you think that......no offense 0.o

  • @Larizzz81 You must be a relative of them, i think...

  • Brandon flowers isn't gay... and after all he is a singer and this is what we should only care about

  • sounds like franz ferdinand with jet lag and that doushe brandon flowers.

  • LMFAO best comment ever xD

  • There have been a lot of new bands making headway over the last year (e.g. these, friendly fires and florence ad the machine) but white lies are the only one i can see recording maybe four or five successful albums

  • Saw them in Fuji Rock. Prety damn good alright.

  • the killers is gay???

  • pretty much man

  • Some people think Brandon Flowers is gay or bisexual (seen as he is married). Flowers is probably just exploiting the fact.. he is a fan of David Bowie and Glam Rock after all.

  • Actually sounds a lot like early Duran Duran.

  • white lies is like the straight killers

  • I love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very Dark wave Goth ... Love it with a Hint of Joy-D....

  • well this a bit older right? because they grew very fast in experience. if you see older live performances and newer ones you can hear the difference pretty good :) now they're great then they were good :D

  • Great tunnnnne and thats one one spiffy baseline

  • why are they so serious???

  • Because they are "moody" musicians lol

  • shoegazing ftw xD

  • because the whole album 'to lose my life' is about serious matters like death etc so their not exactly gonna be jumping for joy ... :/

  • awesome song. the drums sound so sick!

  • su much punsch! What a performance of the band!! S * u * p* e * r *

  • what a great song !

    love them white lies *

  • harrys fit as fuck FUCK ALL WRONG WITH HIS POWERFUL VOICE ,,, THE AMOUNT OF GIGS THEY DO ,, AND FOR SOMEONE ONLY 21 ,, HES BRILLL ,,,, AT LEAST HE CAN SING ,,,,,, FULL PACKAGE HARRY .. LOVE THE BAND X X

  • I herd this band first time, and i like it.. Awesome...

  • saw them @ rock werchter, verry nice...

  • they fucked up a bit at the end lol

  • how

  • he doesn't look like he should have such a deep voice.. hahaha sound very good though.

  • : ))))
