  • Mark was my best mate at school in 1967/8/9 at Great Staughton Primary. I moved to senior school in 1969 but moved area before Mark followed me up in 1970. His dad (Ray) was leader of the Red Arrows at the time.

We lost touch once I moved but I was so sad to hear about his death.

    Rest in Peace my friend.

  • Love it as did it get better as Spit Pilot.

Not so sure the famous bridge scene is stunning - of course!

Nowadays do it get more cool than a Raptor at full pelt - no .

Our Euro fighters are cool - but god bless all pilots!!

  • Wow -did not know this!

The Hannahs involved in the Arrows!

All of the worlds teams have said the arrows are the best.

    See New York?

    Woww!

  • I use 2 luv watchin Ray flying at Flying Legends. Tho im sad 2 say i neva saw Mark fly at duxford but if he was anything lyk his dad then i guess he was brilliant !!! R.I.P both of u !!!

  • two of the best! sadly missed!

  • In Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain), the reenactment pilot Mark Hanna died in accident while flying a Buchon, the spanish version of a german Messerschmitt Me-109. Aparently, the motor failed, and he tried to land, but crashed just before the runway. I was there and I saw as he fell on the foot of the track of the airport of sabadell :(

  • @stege The motor in the Me-109 didn't fail. The port wing flap was stuck in the up position. Mark could've bailed out, but the airfield was surrounded by residential area. He had opposite flap on hard to try and prevent a barrel roll, but when coming in to land, it was impossible to maintain the aircraft in a level position and it flipped over, crashed and burst into flames. Mark had severe burns and survived for 24 hours. I attended his memorial service at the RAF Chapel in London.

  • Thanks for sharing. A nice tribute to a family of pilots!

  • R.I.P to you both,Ive had the pleasure of seeing both men fly at Duxford several times..Something i will never forget

  • NICE TRIBUTE TO TWO GREAT GUYS, I knew both these chaps personaly, Mark was quite a good friend i had made on the airshow circuit, i had the pleasure of being with Mark nearly every weekend, i was lucky enough to also fly with him. One of my best memories is dogfighting with Mark in The James Bond L-29 against Our MK4 Jet Provost. What a great Bloke

    RIP Buddy

  • I love them both. And the aircrafts they were flying! awesome video

  • Its a shame that they have both died. I've seen both of them fly at displays. They will both be missed. Great video by the way

  • thanks for the comment. I was very lucky to of known them for a short while, when I was in tiger squadron, supporters group for the ofmc.

  • I used to be a regular on the simulators you used to do in the TFC Hangar

  • Glad you enjoy it. were you in the tiger squadron or just a regular at the airshows? A show is no longer the same without a Hanna flying!

  • I am a big regular to duxford and it won't be the same with him gone

  • Yeah quite agree, thanks for your interest

  • I knew all the ofmc and breitling fighters personnel as i work restoring the aircraft i was lucky enough to have flown in carolyn grace"s 2seater spitfire with ray at the controls for my 30th birthday

  • hey man this is a well good video, which airfield is that at and also is that spitfire MH434 the one ray flew if so can you tell me where you got the addon from please many thanks.
