  • u cant download touch pack

u need 3 gig ram or more and windows 7+ multi touch

  • @superscape100 I'm not sure about the 3GB ram part, but the windows 7 part is a "DUH?!", no offense

  • slow response

  • So slow and unresponsive, ipad wins!

  • @anarkhy666 I don't care much about the ipad... this isn't a place to troll around... go somewhere else, my videos are not for trolls... oh, and it isn't just right to compare this to the ipad... they are two different pieces of technology... in case you don't know

  • Where Do I Go To Download The Touch Pack

  • cdgenp01:dot:csd:dot:toshiba:dot:com/content/support/downloads/app_touch_pack_TC10035000B:dot:exe

just replace the :dot: with dots respectively... that's a download from toshiba... should work on any machine that has windows 7 and touch

  • what lvl are you on in blackboard I'm stuck on lvl 44

  • did you download the games ?

  • can u give a specific link as to where to get windows 7 and the touchpack for my tx2?

    i have a tx2 running win7 ultimate 64bit

and i would love to have these features

currently i am not liking my tx2 at all

  • i mean Windows Surface not windows 7

how do i get Windows Surface and the Touch Pack

    thats what i wanna know

  • I didn't quite get what you meant.

here's what I understood: you want to install the touchpack AND the Microsoft Surface platform... well, you can get the touchpack from else where, but you can NOT get the Surface platform to run on windows 7 because it has bee created for Vista (as of now) and that the platform itself is specialized for the Microsoft Surface hardware.

BTW, the Touchpack is branded with Microsoft Surface because the apps are ported from Surface to win7.

  • @zaghy2zy oh so there is no way to get win Surface for Win7 at all?

anyway, can you let me know of some places to get the touchpacks

    thanks a lot man

    great vid

  • Well, the Microsoft Surface platform runs on-top of Vista (and soon on Windows 7, maybe) but the problem is that the platform itself is designed to work with the Microsoft Surface hardware ONLY.

Regrading places where you can get the touchpack, I can not tell you or help you with that. (due to legal reasons). Well, of course you can find it or ask somebody else. I am sorry if I can't help you about that.

  • @zaghy2zy ohh, ok

i understand the legal issues so if i just search on google i will be able to find the touch pack?

if anyone else could give me a link that would be great

    thanks a lot zaghy2zy

  • thanks a lot zaghy

i got the touchpack from online and its awesome

but im just wondering what other touchscreen stuff can i get

like on some vids ive seen ppl play air hockey and all which i really want, i know that there is the rebound game, but still

also, my comp is supposed to be multitouch but it only works with two touches

    how do i fix that

i have the same comp as u do, the tx2z

  • well, the official release has two touch points (which disappointed me) but you can always install the RC version of the drivers which is the one used when this video was recorded. If you want those drivers, I can happily provide them.

Also, if you have seen my air hockey video, there's a download link at the description where to get it. A few other people were also able to install other mu;ti-touch software, but I recommend trying out the Snowflake Suite from Natural UI.

  • They have a trial version of their software which can be entertaining. You don't need the full version because the full version DOES NOT offer more stuff in it. It only offers customization and flexibility to add your own apps. I might upload a video about the Snowflake suite soon. So just snag the trial then you're good to go.

To get a copy, just proceed to their site and go to downloads then click "Request Evaluation".

  • I requested the evaluation even before they released the product, so they added me to their mailing list. Then they just emailed me a download link when te product had the trial version up. And it was great!

  • sorry, i can't find the place to download "request evaluation". has it already been removed?

  • ok could you provide the drivers please

i was able to get the air hockey from your vid yesterday

and where could i get snowflake suite? and where could i search for other touch stuff?

    thank you very much

  • I have uploaded the drivers here:

    ifile-dot-it-slash-4jrwgko

just replace the dot and slash with the symbols respectively.

Just google snowflake suite, you should be able to find it.

  • @zaghy2zy thank you so much

i am downloading the drivers now

    your vid is great

  • @zaghy2zy i got the driver and all

but i cant find a download for snowflake suite 1.7

is there any way u could provide a link?

  • here's their home page

    natural-ui-dot-com

  • @zaghy2zy ok so what do i do once there?

is there any easier way to do this

i just want a free snowflake suite 1.7

    thanks

  • download:dot:natural-ui:dot:com:slash:snowflake_w7:dot:zip

    that's the link

  • I don't have Microsoft surface globe on my touch pack. how can i get it?

  • If it was pre-installed when you bought it, you can't really do anything, but you can always get an installer from somewhere and install a complete version of the touch pack...

  • hey its me againi have it now but question how did you get back your touch gestures when u installed windows 7?

  • what gestures do you mean?

  • i mean the gestures to zoom in or to scroll up or down ya know multitouch

  • i have windows 7 on my tx2 but it doesn't do that. can u help me?

  • I might, what do need?

  • i would the windows touch please.

  • I'd recommend reading through the threads/comments in this video. There's a lot of information posted here.

  • how you got this touch pack? D:

  • LOL you don't need to fingers to move a blocker thing in rebound you only need one it worked for me with the HP touchsmart 300.

  • cool, thanks for telling me that... but of course if we already have 4 finger support then that might no longer work.. right? it will force us to use two fingers for each... hehehe

BTW, I have grab hold of the Natural UI software (evaluation copy though) called Snowflake suite... and I'll be making another touch demo about it... hehehe

  • so there no way to download this?, i upgraded to windows 7 ultimate using a cd, is there a place to download this

  • yup, use google... you can certainly find a place to download it...

  • yea i was looking on google all i found was demonstrations of use

  • The latest n-trig drivers v2.184 are bad. They only support 2 points instead of 4-10 previously!

  • I agree with that. I actually filed a complaint about that. But at least they were much more stable. at least for me. so i'll stick with 2 and wait for further updates.

  • Please note that the N-Trig drivers are now available from HP and N-Trig sites for the TX2 digitizer for multi-touch and pen. Please update if you have the 1.59 RC drivers.

  • Get games and apps for the TX2 at touchswipe,GOM we have the touch pack for download

  • Hey i have a question will the touch pack come already installed on windows 7 or do I have to get it manually.

  • no you will have to get it manually. because the touchpack was supposed to come pre-installed with machines purchased with OEMs and resellers... but it got leaked out as soon as I got my copy of it... lol

and it wasn't even even from resellers or oems.. haha my friend got his from MS, and he sent me a copy because he knows I had a tx2 to test it on. and he, uhm doesn't... so yeah... lol

  • Really? So if I buy A TX2 from Hp it won't have the touch pack I thought all Touch Screen PC's with 7 would already have it installed. So you gotta buy it from microsoft?

  • no you don't buy it. it's FREE

its just that they don't come along with windows 7 by default. it is a separate download and install. if you google, you can find some downloads right away.

also, if you buy a tx2 from hp, and has windows 7 in it, it should have the touch pack. unless hp decides not to put it in.

  • hey daxter!

  • Not aviabled, if not preinstalled. Or youmtakre the inofficiAL PACKAGE

  • Wait so its anot avalible at and HP is not Offical for the touchpack?

  • HP gets for OEM-presinstalling, consumer not.

  • So is HP a OEM? What OEMs will have it?

  • well, HP is an OEM I guess since OEM stands for "Original Equipment manufacturer"

every OEM that creates touch-enabled machines with windows 7 pre-installed such as HP, Dell, and Sony... but according to official announcements on the Windows Team Blog site say that it is up to the manufacturers to install the touch pack either everything, some or none of them.

  • Well that sucks Microsoft is too lazy to make a update or download for the touch pack thats a very big disappointment I hope HP puts all of the touch pack or at least there games on it cause it would seem like no point of calling them TouchSmarts and not have a touch pack even though touchsmarts can do multi touch apps and etc. Microsoft is not helping at all they say I'm suppose to look for a PC with the windows 7 logo and check to see if it says supports Windows Touch I checked all the MT PCs.

  • Well, I do suppose you are right with that.. but Microsoft has their own reasons for making decisions like this. it might be something about their partnership deals or whatever, but yeah.... if the consumer can't get it, they'll always find a way... although consumers want things to be there already without bothering to put it there... like me, and you.. haha

    so yeah...

  • hey can you also do a gaming demo on the tx2?

i heard the 3200 is a quite capable GPU.

Can you test it with the demos of Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2?

That'd be ace, just a short video showing at what fps and how well these games run!

    thanks!

  • Sure, I'll give it a try... I'm not exactly a gamer, but for the sake of giving everyone an overview of this machine, I'll do. hehehe

  • awesome man!

    much appreciated!

i'm really close to buying a tx2, but before i wann see how well it handles those 2!

  • sure, no problem. I'll post it sometime this week. I'll do an overnight download then install it by tomorrow. then do the demo by tuesday. If only I was done school, i can do this right away. lol so expect this by the end of the week. Just check back here, I'll post it as a video response.

  • Wow windows 7 does have alot of eye candy will these games work on vista version on

    HP touchsmart TX2?

I like the electric hockey thing wil that work on Vista? for one thing it sure does beat vista in multi touch.

  • nah, the multi-touch support only works on windows7. Vista can support simple multi-touch, but it is done with the help of softwares, unlike windows 7 that does multi-touch at the OS level (no extra software required, just the drivers)

So these game can't work on vista, unfortunately.

  • Oh well I'll wait later on till someone discovers how to put it on Vista. SO you can't even use the simple multi touch on things that don't require more then one finger.

  • I don't really know... the single might work on certain apps, like Blackboard and Pond... but the multiplayer won't be as much available because of course you need multi-touch to allow a second player to play along with you.

If they could port this into vista, I guess that would be good idea. I'd like to see that. Especially if they allow you to use it on other types of touch screen like resistive touch screens...

  • Some games it could be possible. People did discover how to put things from vista on to XP. And if they find a way for 7 to be on Vista and XP some one will probaly make an Immatation of it. Or I could surf the internet for one thats online only.

  • I do agree with that. There are lots of awesome programmers/people out there who can do almost anything, and I do believe in their skills that they can do it. :D

  • Yes there are lots of great programmers and people that know how to mess with files. Today I was going to buy a TX2 from staples but one of the employees said that the display model was the only model they had left. They where going to charge me $1000 dollars for something that has been used by alot of people that walk in staples touched? Hell no I rather wait a extra month to get accesories for it. They said they where going to get rid of it when 7 is out. Wow MS is forcing 7 on the public.

  • $100 for an open-box item? That's stupid. It should cost less, like 10-20% less.... than the original price... it's current price should hover around $900-1000 so it should cost that much... that's rip off....

oh, and MS isn't forcing 7 on the public... well they do, but not as much as you think they are. It's only staples or whatever store you go to.

From here in toronto, the TX2 costs 899.99 from future shop for a new one, thus any open box should be around 800... or so...

  • should have been $1000 not $100, typo

  • It should be $600-700 for me cause that thing was beat up and it was missing stuff that comes with it like the pen. Well Its probaly a terrible move if they start selling only 7 cause alot of people that where planning on getting a pc that didn't have 7 are going to get pissed.. I wouldn't mind getting a 7 but their are Cons with it that push me back like the new movie maker its a load of crap and I hate the new taskbar its me kinda feel like I'm using a mac.

  • I know what you mean. I guess if you get a machine with 7 in it you can opt to downgrade to Vista if you aren't ready for it. But i've never heard anything about that yet.

BTW, the taskbar can be set to look like the Vista taskbar. You don't have to worry about the looks of 7 that much. you can always find a way to customize in the settings.

If you don't like the new movie maker, like me, I found the portable versions of movie maker in xp and vista and it runs on 7.

  • there's also the movie maker 2.6 (if I'm right with the version number) which is the same exact version of the XP one and it can run on 7. You just have to download that from Microsoft. It is named "Movie Maker 2.6 for Vista"

so yeah, I don't like the new movie maker, neither the idea of removing windows mail and windows calendar, along with a few other programs that were built-in into vista.

  • Ok somone just told me recently that afer the 22nd there going to sell TX2's with 7 installed. Is that true cause I just had a little freak out. Cause I got hooked with my Vista I got adapted to it and I like it pretty much. I think there going to make it alot more expensive since it has 7. Do the vista theme come already installed on it? Right now multi touch doesn't seem really helpful or productive cause I want to see what it can do with software not just flip a bunch of pictures around.

  • yes, I think they will have 7 installed after 22. But I don't think every computer will have 7 already installed on that day, so there's a good chance you can get a computer with vista on it on that day.

There isn't actually a Vista theme. The interface is pretty much Vista, except for the taskbar which you could edit the properties and check the "small icons" to make it vista-like, but not exactly like vista.

I think the change in the interface isn't a big leap as from XP to Vista.

  • Well can they at least make it optional for the TX2Z and leave vista on the TX2's. I thought these were going to have vista till janurary 31st like they said on wikipedia and retailer stores than any vista bought between june20th and janurary 30th will have a upgrade so there going to start selling some with vista in stores but will vista still avalible in retailer stores online like HP? Honestly they should have stuck with the old taskbars cause most people think it treats the user like a kid.

  • NVM about them The TX2z's are the only ones that will have windows 7 so th TX2's will have vista while Z's have 7 I'll settle for the TX2 since its cheaper.

  • the tx2 is still a practical buy over the tx2z since they look the same and practically have the same specs... almost

  • tx2 is retail versions of the tx2, the tx2z is the customizable model available from hp's website

  • lol, I see I see... wait... so basically the tx2 and tx2z they sell at futureshop (canada) are the same thing? and the only difference is the state being customizable?

ok that was kinda retarded... lol now I understand why they are basically the same....

  • well, customizable means you can choose with what cpu it comes.

you can always modify the hdd and RAM on both models..

  • I wish HP had some in stock right now since the 1270us is currently the only Model right now thast has 7 I just realised that 7 is going to be on only customizable PCs.

  • ohhh, I see I see.... so are you going after 7 or vista?

  • opps it was a typo the models have vista the Z's have 7 I'm going after vista I'm not really comfy with 7.

  • I see.... I didn't actually went to vista, so yeah... I'm one of those who skipped vista... But I'm pretty much comfy vista since everyone else around me has vista, except me... lol so I actaully learned it and liked it already as much as I like my XP and windows 7....

  • I'm glad my family skipped Vista the first year it came out I didn't what to get a Vista without a service pack. Vista is pretty good and fast. People are not really giving Vista the Credit it deserves. I jear people saying Vista is slow it is not slow if get a new computer instead of using a computer that was built for XP its lighting fast on a new PC. Vista was built for newer PCs. Not for computers with specs that are common on XP and lower.

  • I agree with you. I just skipped it not because it was bad, but because I didn't have the resource to get it. and I pretty much loved XP at that time. The initial launch scared me a bit, so waited until a service pack came out. But then, when I was already ready for vista, I don't have the resources to own it. So just waited ofr windows 7.

I thank Vista for forcing the system to build faster and powerful hardware and making us move forward faster than ever.

  • You didn't have the resources what do you mean couldn't find a store to buy one?

  • no, I meant money... lol I'm just a student, so practically can't ask my parents to buy it for me. So I need to basically save some cash... lol

  • A student? Your parents should buy it for your if its educational related I'm in middle school and my mom is Ok with getting a TX2 for me even though she doesn't have a job she makes money quick my TX2 shipment got delayed cause my mom was $400 short besides I want Windows 7 now that I found out after the 22th there having 7. So I don't have to worry about upgrading. As long as HP sticks to making TX2-1270us I'm fine I hear its the best model and it has OneNote which I really need.

  • It also has 500GB hard drive which I really need.(I'm a HardDrive Hog).

  • yup, yup, my parents did buy it now because I'm in college... and i do need it because of the pen capabilities... so that I can jot down notes...

Wow, yours has 500GB? mine only has 360, and it feels little for me... so I'm doing my best to kinda manage my stuff in it. hehehe, but anyways, I hope you enjoy your tx2 as much as I am now... hehehe

its a really nice laptop if ask me. and I'm loving it. it is light enough to carry around, and it's functional and powerful. despite the smaller screen

  • Yours has a smaller screen it looks a bit small in laptop mode I thought it was pretty big compared to a netbook but when I saw a 17'' laptop sitting next to it it made it look a little small. But in Tablet Mode it looks pretty big compared to my Binder its larger then my Binder. For 12'' its perfect for tablets cause I coild imagine myself dropping this alot if it was 17'' cause those a heavy and trying to carry it in your arm and write it maybe longer then your arm.

  • yeah, that's the point of having the smaller screen, so that its should make itself light enough and easy to grab...

  • they just came out with the HP touchsmart Tx2-1370us its awesome but the downside is that it has 320GB hard Drive they should stick with the 500 I hope I 500 one comes out before christmas. Then again 320 is tolerable my old XP is 6 years old and has a 250GB HD and i only used up 96GB. They got 7 can't wait thank they ran out of 1270us I was this close to buying one.

  • well, you could always buy an extra hdd and replace the one in it... but maybe wait until you actually need the extra space...

I hope you enjoy your new TX2 as much or more than I did... hehehe :P

  • Question, does the windows 7 include this pack by default?

  • If you meant a windows 7 full installer or upgrade, then no.

They will only come by from a pre-configured machine with touch capabilities with windows 7 pre-installed. It is also possible they will provide a download for this if you get the free windows upgrade on touch-capable machines. But I'm not sure about that. But I am sure this will come pre-installed if windows 7 is pre-installed on a touch pc

But like everyone else here, you can always find the installer somewhere around the internet.

  • i hope the apple tablet isnt gay... i need one for college next year

  • well, if it would support a pen to write with, and a desktop-ish interface, then it might be worth to try for me.

I just hope that they don;t make it closed, so that we don;t have to 'jailbreak' it.... lol

I'd want an apple tablet that's lightweight, is powerful to watch HD movies in it (and a few games), and has expansion ports, (e.g. USB port, memory cards readers, etc...) hehehehe, oh and one with a long lasting battery..... :D

  • I just got my HP Tx2 1270us today, installed Windows 7 but when I flip screen (move 180° to use as Tablet PC) screen remains inverted. What I can install to change this? And How I get a N-Trig DuoSense Digitizer Driver for it?

  • the N-Trig drivers are now available from HP and N-Trig sites for the TX2 digitizer for multi-touch and pen.

  • that's for the official release versions (v 2.x) for windows 7 with multi-touch

  • Hey, could you maybe advise me to a website where i could download the package?

  • try to google it... you could probably find one....

  • where did you get the tochpack? and how did you installed it? if you need nvidia drivers to run it..

  • I got it from a friend... but you can practically find it all around the internet, I've seen sites who posted it for download...

just installed it like a regular program.... no special drivers needed, aside from your REQUIRED multi-touch drivers (which is the one from N-Trig in my case for the TX2)

  • hey man.. I installed windows 7 64bit, i deleted the mac partion thoo =(. well win 7 looks cool.. its better than vista 4 sure.. it took few days to get the touch pack.. i couldnt find it anywhere man! finally i have it and it's all good: :D nice vid

  • Good for you! I hope you enjoy it.

I was just hoping there were more programs or games like this.... I sure do know everyone agrees to that... lol

  • great vid man !! will these work on a 64 bit tx2? or are they specific to 32 bit?

  • works on 64-bit without any issues, that's what I used it on.

    Win7 64-bit

but these will also work on win7 32-bit just fine.... :D just install the right version of Virtual earth specific to your OS (if it is 64 or 32 bit)

  • you able to operate the "smoke app" and others flash tuio applicarions on tx2?

  • nope, those need the specific run-time environment, I've tried, but does not work as it should be. But, I haven't tried installing the components because they work on camera based infrared system. which is very different from a capacitative touch system. so yeah....

but maybe sometime soon, they could add support for capacitative touch systems...

  • I already built an infrared system before, but the problem is the low refresh rate. And the component TUIO not "see" the ntrig.

I installedt ouckpack successfully, but can not find any program for multitouch, (exept surface apps) is very rare.

  • I see... I've read through the posts in the TUIO site way back and knew that they only see infrared camera based touch systems.

and that capacitative touch is still unavailable but should be available soon.

Once they get that working, I'll be trying it out. :D

And yes, I know the pain of looking for programs that actually support multitouch. I just hope there were more.

  • run on win7 32bits and 64bits?

  • the touch pack is basically 32-bit... although, the virtual earth has an installer for 32 and 64-bit which quite possibly means that the virtual earth used has specific 32 and 64 bit drivers for it to run.

so they should run on both 64 and 32 bit... currently running 64-bit BTW

  • hey where canm i download this touch pack for my tx2???? please tell me...

  • Sorry, this was an internal circulation and my friend just personally shared it to me.

I do not know where other people can get it, but oh well. in the internet, you can find almost everything! try searching around. But I don't think its illegal to get it from other sources since this set of software is a free download/add-on if you get windows 7 on qualified "touch certified" machines, once windows 7 is released.

I just don't want problems with Microsoft by helping you get it early.

  • I don't know where other people get it, but try asking them, such as the one above who have downloaded it.

Plus, I don't want to spoil the excitement of waiting, :D

  • just finished downloading touch pack.. gonna try it on my tx2 !!

  • Great! I hope you enjoy it! I really liked the Collage app, it sure is useful, lol
