Is that baseplate and the sides massive aluminum, looks heavy. Verry nice build. Just finished converting a proxxon router but it has to much play to do anything usefull with it so i will build one myself now :)
@devilmastah The two side are aluminum, but the base is actually MDF wood painted. I like the two tower being heavy, it make the machine more rigid. It weight about 250lbs.
:) Is that a Outrunner you got on there? How much DC power did you have to run it on??? I was thinking of making my own spindle... but running a AC motor.
@devildestiny555 It's using about 15A at 22V without cutting, but there is almost no difference when cutting 0.2 or 0.5mm/pass at 250mm/minute, the power supply should be rated for 20-30amps to be on the safe side.
Unfortunately my cnc is too flexible to be able to really test it..I can only cut metal in the corners, where it's rigid.
I really like the brushless....less noise, no brushes to go bad :)
But you should know, the RC brushless are really badly balanced, you will have to balance it.
A fine example of how one mans trash can be another mans treasure.

@devildestiny555 Thanks for the reply, how thick are those sides if i may ask :) and what kind of accuracy do you archieve with that router
devilmastah 1 month ago
@devilmastah The side is 1inche 6061 alloy. The accuracy is about .04 to .06mm.

@ParaConMan Machine junkyard, but mostly other country, not in the US.

If you have a lathe make your own spindle.
I heared Chinese ones are so so, and it will probably be hard to fix if something breaks.
If you make it yourself at least you will know how to fix things easily, if something breaks.
This is something I made myself:

The coupling was a bad choice, I would go for the couplers with plastic inserts now.
The er11 chuck was also a bad choice, I would go for er16 now :)
