Peter, ones aquarium should be created for plants OR for fish.
At the time this aquarium was created for fish so the plants were added for show. Its a hard balance to keep both plants and discus perfectly healthy. At the time this tank did not inject co2, however I have since created a tank for both discus and plants with co2 and I still choose to aerate the water.
I am hopefully getting some discus within a month or so, i am getting a 4-5 t aquarium, i plan to have mabey like 6-8 disus, some sort of bottom dwellers for cleaning up, and some tetras, i know how to care for discus: change the water weekly, like 15 percent, have a good filter, they like a ph of 6.5 and soft water, and feed them alot of different things.
you cant be lazy and you gotta work hard! it takes lots of maintenace and you really have to have the drive! but its work it at the end!!!ohh yea 1 more thing! you have to have lots of money.. it can get really expensive!!

I noticed that you are aerating the water. Isn't that counterproductive to the plants? Do you also inject co2?

your discus are ugly. body shape of those blue ones are triangular.

Yes i agree. Although they were only juvi's when this video was taken they were certainly stunned which is a poor trait of many discus seen today.

I would say around 75 gallon depending on the size if they are small maybe 55

think its better to feed them frozen blood worms or good flakes

Almost, when you first get the discus, every 3 days will be good and after a couple of months you can go to every week. Water quality is key.

What kind of gravel do you use? And where did you get it from?

3mm River Pebble aka Gold Gravel. Its one of the most common substrates.
