I use Todoodlist by Nick Cernis. It helps me to organize my tasks and goals in a more abstract fashion. I set up my actions in more of a "mind map" fashion and then use 4 x 6 index cards held together by Circa/Rollabind rings as my carrying notebook/inbox to knock out the tasks for my day. It clears my head, keeps me on track and I don't carry a bunch of stuff around all the time. One small, customizable notebook is all I need! That and a pencil. "Todoodlist" is an ebook btw.
I have been struggling with a calender system that works for me. I am currently just using a black moleskine notebook. I am thinking about going back to a Franklin Covey (7 Habits Theme) Classic Style planner in combination with the moleskine for more free form note taking.
I use the moleskin pre-made calendars. You can get page a day or weekly. I like one with the weekly calendar on one side and a blank page (for notes) on the other. They have their 2009 and even 2008/2009 ones out right now.
Hi Prismaxxx, thanks for your comment! It's true, it you don't like it, you won't use it! Re: my hair. I change it a lot, based on what I feel is an authentic expression of me. I felt too many people expected me to be purple, and pressured to keep that up, so I tried something new. I am however, seriously considering going back to purple soon, because it was fun!
I think for me, I'm so thrilled by the combination of Google Calendar with Remember the Milk (an online task management & to do list), and I'm gonna printing out my schedule & lists so I write on 'em.
You can make appointments or lists by phone (Jott) or your GMail acct., and in '08 you can use it offline.
Aaaaand subscribed. I'm looking forward to what you come up with; when I saw the video on making a notebook I was thinking "that looks too big for me." :)
My current GTD system is basically my Hipster PDA (a bunch of 3x5 cards, a binder clip, and a Space Pen) plus Reference files. But I haven't been able to fit everything in nicely and since I'm an academic I get a winter break for a bit of brainstorming and retooling. Maybe GTD+R might have some good ideas at an acceptable form factor.
can I take you out on a date. GTD is so sexy

1) Get it out of your head into a capture tool
2)A Get the stuff in the capture tool to tell you when you need to act on it
2)B Get the stuff in the capture tool so you can develop actions required and then schedule in a system external to you to get it done
